Stevens Joins Previously Announced Musical Acts Lifehouse and Carmen Electra

Hot on the heels of his win on THE X FACTOR, Tate Stevens will perform on NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE! airing Monday, Dec. 31 (11:00 PM-12:30 AM ET live; CT/MT/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Stevens will join previously announced performers Lifehouse and Carmen Electra.

Stevens, a 37-year-old country singer from Raymore, MO, had been employed as a road worker prior to auditioning for THE X FACTOR. Mentored by judge L.A. Reid, Stevens emerged as America’s choice and the winner of the coveted THE X FACTOR title, along with a $5 million recording contract with Sony Music.

Broadcast from Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE! also will feature FOX cameras capturing the world-famous New Year’s Eve Ball as it makes its descent into New York’s Times Square.

NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE! is executive-produced by Bob Bain, produced by Paul Flattery and directed by Michael Dempsey.

Carly should have won – but we’ll see who sells more CD’s when they come out.

  • Kaylie

Fifth Harmony should have won. The industry needs an all-girl group. We’ve been in need of that for a very long time.

  • Karma

Get over it already people!! The right person won. Even Simon said so…yes we’ll see who sells the most! @tatestevensctry!!

  • Kangarookeeper

    Yawn (to all Y-Factor acts)!

  • Christel

The right winner won. Everyone has their own opinion. But Tate is a good hearted guy just living his dream and supporting his family. It was up to America who won. Some may not like country, but you have to look at talent. He isn’t a broadway singer, he is a country boy thru and thru. GET OVER IT!!!!!!

This guy is performing on the show only because Phillip Phillips decided to pass on singing because he needed some rest before his tour

I kinda felt like Carly should’ve won. But, I also felt like the hosts and the judges by their language were ‘encouraging’ us to pull for Tate. But, whatever. I’m sure Carly and Fifth Harmony are getting signed as well by someone.

I agree the judges were gearing the audience to vote for Tate by the mere fact of the editing. They kept stating that he wouldn’t have a job if he didn’t win. He had given it up for his dream, that it was his last chance. He is good. However, Carly Rose had a gift that was amazing to see and hear. She should have won if it was by sheer talent alone. But it isn’t by talent alone. By editing the pieces about them, they were making sure the audience knew she had plenty of time to fulfill her dream but Tate needed to win. Editing those pieces make all the difference in how people vote. As for Firth Harmony, I have no idea how they beat out Emblem 3 for the third place spot. Every once in a while they sang well but for the most part, I just fast forwarded after the first minute or two when they sang.
