NBA Basketball was Christmas's highest rated original cable program with a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. On the scripted front, Rizzoli & Isles earned a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, Leverage earned a 0.7 and Doctor. Who: Snowmen earned a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating.

Those are great ratings for Doctor Who, and don’t count the numerous repeats BBC-A aired, along with DVR numbers. Keep in mind, the season premiere in September set the all time BBC-A Ratings record at 1.6 million, so for a holiday, thats pretty dang impressive, and definitely does not hint at any drop in popularity for BBC-A flagship show.
Leverage just didn’t have any reason to go on. And personally, I thought the finale sucked. Way too sentimental, and the ending was even more of a cheat than usual–so Nate was the cop?
I had stopped watching, and just happened to tune in on Christmas Night. I’m not sorry there was a happy ending, but again–I don’t watch TV shows for closure. I’d have much rather they just ended with a good caper, and the team is still together. Nate and Sophie don’t have to go off into the sunset, and c’mon–Parker as the leader? She’s made progress, but not that much.
It was a fun show at its best–a silly one at its worst. The finale was silly.
I was going to say myself that this must have been the highest rated christmas special for doctor Who in the USA.
It was an excellent episode !
It blew away last years. Last years Christmas episode seemed like a quick thrown together episode just to throw something on t.v. !
Boy was it bad!
But this year it rocked.
I loved how it actually had a lot to do with the actual series and not just a stand alone episode .
