You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    It says that Kennedy Centre wins the night but to me it looks like Criminal Minds and Modern Family win the demo and Criminal Minds wins in total viewers.

  • Sam

    Good job GWK

  • RG-X

    Uh – Ben & Kate Marathon did just as well as New Girl! Sooooo….

  • CenterGravity

    That rendition of “Stairway to Heaven” featuring the Wilson sisters and Jason Bonham for the finale of the Kennedy Center show was amazing!

  • Gloria

    CW – wOw! I expected worse ratings.

  • jimbo

    Good to see Guys with kids repeated doing well.
    This should be given another season, Please NBC.!!

  • CenterGravity

    @GS

    They usually only make their comments on non-repeat programming.

  • Gloria

    CW had more viewers than Fox and it has smaller ratings??!
    WTF?!

  • Oliver

    Arrow skews surprisingly old.

  • agentoftv

    @Bri

    Yes last night episode, ‘The Company’ for Criminal Minds was from last season and was written by ex-FBI agent and BAU profiler Jim Clemente.

    no it wasn’t lol. It was written by BREEN FRAZIER. Pay attention

  • Samunto

    What did Univision air?

  • Vcoolwater

    Repeat ratings don’t make a difference. Some show repeat well and some don’t. Basically none of the ratings last night made a difference.

    Though it nice to see Kennedy Center Honors do better than last year. The ratings have been all over the place this year. It will be intersting how the tv shows perform in the new year.

  • Rebecca

    Didn’t watch any reruns and forgot about Kennedy Ctr Honors until its final segment (since parents were here and found “The Fugitive” on ION), so we caught part of the Led Zeppelin tribute. Heart and Kid Rock were awesome. I’ll check online later to see if I can find the Dustin Hoffman and David Letterman bits from the show.

  • glen

    Maybe fans of Whitney are just loyal and enjoy the repeats? Or, in theory, since Whitney and Guys w Kids are low-rated, there must be a good portion of the viewing audience who have never watched the show and, due to nothing much else on, felt like trying them out?

  • RJ

    Criminal Minds is the hero of the night. Great ratings!

  • Jared

    How Ben and Kate is still on the air is beyond me. I’ve never watched the show so I can’t comment on the quality but from a ratings point of view this show should have been cancelled as quickly as it premiered.

  • Hadesa

    Good repeat numbers for CW, there are new episodes of GG, 90210, HOD, Emily Owens, Beauty and Nikita that have dipped to 0.3-0.5 this season already so for these two shows to repeat with similar numbers is really good.

  • Mike

    Nashville needs to be cancelled and Hayden penitierre(or whatever) needs to jump in my bed.

  • Oliver

    @Jared

    How Ben and Kate is still on the air is beyond me. I’ve never watched the show so I can’t comment on the quality but from a ratings point of view this show should have been cancelled as quickly as it premiered.

    It wouldn’t have made any sense for Fox to cancel Ben and Kate in September, because they need to air something and it’s not doing badly enough to pull it.

    What would Fox replace it with if they had cancelled it? Fox have no benched veterans, New Girl repeats would substantially worse and undermine their attempts to establish a Tuesday comedy block, networks generally don’t launch freshman midseason shows in November, and Fox clearly don’t think much to The Goodwin Games as they cut its order from 13 to 7 episdes.

  • Leondre

    I hope those good numbers from NBC are a sign of good ratings on January 2nd.
