beached, “who cares what your thoughts are.”
last I looked, California is not declaring bankruptcy.
and Bev…”who cares what your thoughts are” they’re comical.
The State isn’t yet, bleached. But three cities so far have.
And even with the new taxes that we’re going to get starting in three days, apparently Governor Brown and his cohorts miscalculated and our shortfall is going to be a few billion more than they realized.
@beached Thank you for the compliment.
If California is such a bad place to live, why do more people live here than anywhere else?
Bev…You are so dumb you wouldn’t know a compliment if it hit you in the face.
The following is a quote that I copied and pasted from a comment on an article in The Guardian. I thought this was interesting what this person said. I’d like to hear anyone thoughts on it if you feel like reading and responding. If not, it’s no big deal. I just found this person’s thoughts thought-provoking.
Here it is:
The truth is that the whole political establishment in the West is still constructed around the false cleavage of left/right, “the destitute worker” vs “the plutocratic capitalists.”
The fact is this is a load of guff left over from the 19th/20th Century that bears no resemblance to the problems faced by most of us today and holds absolutely no significance for those of us who grew up post-Cold War.
This is why there is political malaise. We have two parties that represent two sides of a “battle” that no longer exists. Sure, there are one or two super-rich guys and one or two incredibly poor people in Western nations, but the real 99% are the people who sit in the middle and don’t particularly identify with either camp.
So every time we hear some right-winger banging on about “lefties” or “socialists,” we just sigh. Likewise, when the Guardian and Occupy and other leftist organizations try and construe the political situation as this Dickensian dystopia where the poor are enslaved and oppressed by a class of cackling fatcats and paint everything private in a negative light, we sigh.
It’s all a load of redundant crap that means nothing to the majority of the current generation perpetuated only because interests like our political parties and newspapers depend on its continued existence. Without “evil capitalists” to complain about where would the Guardian be? Well, the answer lies in its declining sales… nowhere.
There is no class war anymore in the West. You will never change things pretending there is. People were angry about the banking crisis not because they felt part of some class struggle against the capitalist bankers but because they felt ripped off. The two are not the same, and that’s why nobody liked Occupy and their pious Cold War hogwash about 99% vs 1%, trying to place the events within the context of some wider struggle vs the rich.
Blah..blah …blah..blah…
@ bleachedIf California is such a bad place to live, why do more people live here than anywhere else?

Because California USED to be the land of opportunity, even GREATER than the rest of the United States until 40 years of majority Democrat rule ruined it. It used to be tons of people coming INTO CA and very few, if any, leaving every month. Those tables have now turned. It’s the opposite.
We have had Republican Governors, but for the past 40 years we’ve had a majority of Democrats in the Senate and the House except for one year. The voodoo Democrat fiscal policies have ruined this great state just like the voodoo Democrat fiscal policies are trying to ruin the United States. Thankfully, there are LOTS of people standing in the way of that happening.
@BevAg—we will spend New Years in a manner that pleases us best–at home with our dogs. We plan to watch the Fox New Year’s Eve also.
We are doing great. Had a wonderful Christmas with family. We have been taking Christmas down. That always inspires us to re-arrange, clean and change up a few things. Listening to Sirius XM Pops and just enjoying the day. Popped in today to hear about the Faith/Hillbilly dysfunctional relationship–lol and got a big laugh–love this site—where else can people who live in alternate universes have such fun?
My fear about CA is that the rest of us are going to be picking up their tab—
@ beached–in the sage words of 1966—lol
@ bleached Bev…You are so dumb you wouldn’t know a compliment if it hit you in the face.

And how is this talking about your own dictate that you want this site to only talk about TV ratings?
So your position is that ONLY others have to talk about TV ratings, but you can talk about anything you wish?
Letmethink, what kind of dogs do you have? We have an English Bulldog. I just love him. He’s the apple of our eye here.
We’ll be doing that as well. You take down the Christmas decorations and give the house a good cleaning. I’ll be doing that some Monday and Tuesday and it will be all finished by Wednesday. It’s fun though. Gets everything in order.
That was fun about Faith and Hillbilly. I’m so glad she “made him so tired.” lol ::: grin ::: Way to go, Faith.
I’m in fear also that the government is going to be bailing out CA, and unfortunately the government’s going to do it. With the Democrats and their voodoo economics they’ll print more money and give CA whatever it needs to just keep spending and spending unwisely, and they’ll still want to raise our taxes.
Checking in to wish everyone a happy new year
Thanks for all the comic relief Bev. Funnier than Fox Comedy News.
okay, beached. Whatever.
Thank you, Bobbyv. Happy New Year to you as well.
Thanks Bev, I am sending a fruit basket to you and beached
lol Thank you, Bobby!!! lol Oh, you just made me laugh. That’s funny.
Could you put the crummy fruits on beached side, just for effect!!! lol
