The common people do not understand deficits and printing money. I argue all the time with liberals that think we should keep spending and running deficits. They have no fear of inflation whatsoever. I hope that we go over the fiscal cliff. That is the only way the common people are going to feel the pain of big deficits and printing money today. If we wait for inflation to hit, so that the common people will understand it will be too late.
I watch Bloomberg business and Fox business and they are all rich people that do not want to increase in capital gains tax. It is time for these people to contribute to the tea party. Let them all pay. If they contribute to the Democrat or Republican parties and not the tea parties, they’re getting what they paid for. Let’s all hold hands and go over the cliff together

It’s not the first time the Journal News had published names of gun permit holders. They also did so in 2006.
News network CNN interviewed The Poynter Institute, a school for journalists, about the story.
“Publishing gun owners’ names makes them targets for theft or public ridicule. It is journalistic arrogance to abuse public record privilege, just as it is to air 911 calls for no reason or to publish the home addresses of police or judges without cause,” Al Tompkins, a Poynter senior faculty member, said .
The Journal is now planning to double down with . more gun permit holders in suburban Westchester and Rockland counties.

d.d., I’m hoping and figuring someone will lay a cease and desist order or an injunction on the Putnam County Clerk’s Office prohibiting them from giving that information to The Journal News. That story you linked says the Putnam Clerk’s office is still gathering the information.
If someone files a cease and desist against the clerk’s office, then they can’t give it to The Journal News and it goes to court and a judge hears it.
THAT’S when it will get real interesting.
But I hope that the people in that area put The Journal News out of business by not buying their newspaper. It won’t hurt Gannett, the parent corporation, because they’re huge and wealthy. But I’d love to see it put a dent in their bottom line.

Karl Marx theory of Marxism was a theory for it’s time. A time when people, common people did not own property. A time where the aristocracies, land barons owned everything.a time when even the aristocracies could not sell their own land. This land was to be transferred to the oldest child upon the death of his parents. That child being male only! So when the right wing put down Karl Marx. It is bringing back at time that is gone. When the right wing uses him it is just propaganda in a time gone by.

You do not need to do this for something bad is going to happen. I hate to say it because I hate lawyers, but the lawyers will take over and this newspaper is going to have big problems. When they print your name in the paper specially thousands of names you’re setting yourself up to be sued.

Doug, I have learned in my lifetime that Liberals believe in free speech as long as that speech agrees with them. If it doesn’t agree with them, then they are MOST intolerable. Bleached is an excellent example of that.
Doug, I agree that The Journal News is setting themselves up big time here to be sued (for so many reasons) because of printing thousands of names in their paper. I hope the backlash that the newspaper and reporters have gotten teaches the entire news reporting industry that they are not the legends that they think they are.
