   Only idiots think that the news on Comedy Central is real.

   You mean the same idiots that think Hannity, Glenn Beck, Oreilly, and Fox and Friends is real news?

   One of the dumbest comments ever. I love how you throw the atheist thing out there because you want to condemn them. I know many more worst hypocritical Christians than atheists.

   @Ralph It’s the world we live in in. People see Stewart, Colbert, and even Maher as the most visible liberal voices in America today. People do go to them for news and talking points against the GOP.

   I attended Stewart’s stage show in Clearwater and he sold out two shows. Do you know how he marketed the tour? His promoter bought tons of ads on WFLA. His appeal is to political junkies, not people looking for a laugh.

   Arguing whether or not Comedy Central is “real” is like arguing whether wrestling is real or not. It’s a major vehicle for the Democrats. It’s become what Fox News is for the GOP.

   Was it “real” when Obama appeared on Stewart just before the election?

   I’d be very surprised if Daily Show viewers are less informed than viewers (especially of the opinion shows) of Fox and MSNBC. Just because it’s on a comedy network, and has a comedic slant, that doesn’t mean it’s ‘not real news;’ it was fake news when Craig Kilborn was the host, but now the emphasis is more comedic coverage of real events, as well as critique of the news media.

   Agreed, it is indeed stupid to equate these things; a sitting Speaker of the House, telling a sitting Senate Majority leader to go F— himself is far worse than AN ACTOR dropping an F-bomb in an Internet video that wasn’t even sponsored by a major party candidate or SuperPAC. agreed agreed agreed

   In the case of is the Daily Show or Bill Maher real news or not I would side with no they aren’t. They are entertainment shows with political slants(much like most the stuff we see on FOX news and MSNBC, only difference is Stewart and Maher are more open to admit what they are instead of acting like they somehow news)

    Ervin–you sound like you are still stinging from the tremendous loss in the election last month. Obviously, Obama did NOT raise taxes on the middle class–he has the middle class’s interests uppermost in mind. The GOP are out to destroy not only the middle class but the whole country, too.

    Boehner told Reid to go F*** himself? It’s about time!!! Boehner knows this deal is bad for the country. Sometimes passion gets the best of you. Increase spending and a tax increase on $450,000, well we can all see what Obama’s idea of fair is. Take from the rich and give stimulus money to his rich friends.

    Cathy–everyone knows the deal is good for the country, except the soon to be extinct t-bags. Boehner and the moderate Repubs can’t control these right wing radicals who are trying to destry our country. But the bags are thankfully going the way of dinosaurs–correction: they ARE dinosaurs!!!!!!!!!!!
    The t-bags want to drastically cut spending and send the economy into depression–this is the classic strategy of an abjectly uneducated person–like most of the bags……

    Hey–did you see that Fox, the right wing GOP propagnada arm, is bad-mouthing the $12.1 B tax credit for the wind turbine industry. Typical of Fox, a backward thinking organization supporting the t-bag lunatic right. They don’t realize that you have to support new energy industries just like the government supported the “new” railroad industry in the mid-1800′s.

    WALMART is the most successful retailer in the world. It’s 5 times the size of Costco. That’s a lot of leaping and bouncing to do. Kroger is growing more and it’s US only.

    Costco pays their workers more because you have to have at least three years of retail experience to get a job. Only 45% of new hires make it passed the 90 day training period. The average Costco employee has 6 years of retail experience.

    Most people who shop at Warehouse Stores like Costco and Sam’s Club are ‘lazy deal’ shoppers. If you are a “true” value shopper you shop sales at traditional retailers and stock-up.

    Walmart makes it’s money by screwing over the public indirectly. Alot of Walmart employees are paid so bad they have to take government subsidies to get out of poverty. It’s great the Waltons makes billions of dollars each but they do it on the backs of treating employees like crap. It’s companies like Walmart make me believe we really need to raise the minimum wage, else they will continue squeezing out every penny they can while making the tax payers foot the bill for how little they pay to their employees.

    I personally avoid shopping at Walmart because I feel they are a cancer on society(ie if all employees waged working practices like Walmart we would go back to the 1800s when people were working 70 hour weeks barely getting by)
