Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Seacrest won because of the lead in obviously. If people want to see movies they would opt for a more recent one rather than Enchanted that has a bunch of commercials inbetween.

    NBC sucks at everything

  • jr

Why did FOX bother with Mob Doctor? They only narrowly beat out CW. What a loser network.

No, Mob Doctor (0,4) hasn’t beat out CW (0,5). :)

  • William

Anyone know how Pitbull’s live concert on AXS did in the ratings?

  • Ellen

I’m interested to see the CNN ratings.

Maybe becuase they couldn’t see the future?

Does anyone have the ratings for Univision’s countdown?

  • Noname_Rex

    @728

Thanks. Although I still personally think that’s really stupid…seems to me like they didn’t think much about anyone living outside of the Eastern Time Zone…

  • Juan

Well ABC started the year well, I hope all my shows get good ratings this year and since most are on ABC then hope all of ABC does well.

    Happy New Years

  • ILoveSitcoms

BTW, a lot of people have elevated Dick Clark’s legacy. Google “Dick Clark Payola Scandal” and see whether you still think Dick Clark was such a swell guy.

  • Jay

    nice

  • bud

How can anyone tolerate anything with Ryan Seacrest?

  • Chris L

    @mayans

“Seacrest won because of the lead in obviously.”

Ignoring the fact that Seacrest was ON the lead-in, are you really claiming that Primetime Rockin’ Eve would NOT have won the timeslot without the lead-in tribute to Dick? Even more to the point, are you claiming he would have lost to CARSON DALY?

  • CenterGravity

    Dick Clark’s still got it.

A repeat Bones rated 50 percent higher than a new Mob Doctor. Ouch.

  • Jon

@ no name Rex…..you must not have been watching ABC as the ball drop was shown with Seacrest just as it always has been.

  • Jon

To me Ryan Seacrest is the perfect host to take over as the main guy. He reminds me of a young Dick Clark. Hate or love American Idol, you can’t deny Seacrest is one of the nations finest emcees. He knows the music business and is very plugged in. Dick took him under his wing several years ago, and was hand picked by Dick to continue the show once he was gone or no longer able to do the show

  • Joseph

    Oliver:

Maybe Ryan Seacrest should emcee the halftime show of Super Bowl XLVII on CBS, so he can brag that he was part of high-rated shows or events on all of the so-called “big four” broadcast networks.

  • Joseph

    JR:

Fox is burning-off “Mob Doctor”, relegating remaining episodes to such nights as New Year’s Eve, Saturdays, and the last episode to air next Monday (January 7th), which will go head-to-head against ESPN’s broadcast of the NCAA Bowl Championship Series Finals between Notre Dame and Alabama.

The scheduling will insure that almost no one will watch it…..not even the Cancellation Bear!
