'Nashville' vs. 'Chicago Fire': Who Will Win Post-Winter Break? (Poll)

Both Chicago Fire and Nashville return from hiatus tonight at 10PM. Edit: I've been alerted by commenters rob60990 and KT that tonight's Nashville isn't technically new, as it is a "catch-up" clip show. So the two will officially go head to head again next week. Continue with your predictions, and we'll see who wins....next week!

It's been a long winter for Nashville fans, as the last original episode aired four weeks ago, and earned a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating and tied against head to head competition from Chicago Fire. However, it may be worth noting that Chicago Fire also earned a 1.9 for its last original, which aired only two weeks ago. Will the ratings for these two dramas stay tied, or will someone finally emerge as a 10PM victor?

Chicago Fire. ABC is in repeats besides Nashville.

  • rob60990

Nashville is a clip show tonight, not new.

  • Californiadgd

    Chicago Fire I think

  • Kevin

Nashville & Chicago Fire are going to beat the crap out of CSI.

  • KT

Nashville tonight is actually a clip show to catch people up on the storylines. new episodes don’t come back til next week.

  • DKD

As KT said, tonight’s Nashville is a clip show.

Also, they weren’t truly tied four weeks ago if you carry the ratings out another decimal point. Nashville beat Chicago Fire by 2%.

Chicago Fire should win tonight handily, considering that CSI is a rerun and Nashville is clips. In the long run, I think Nashville will do a little better overall. If Chicago Fire goes against new CSI episodes, it’ll get pummeled and Nashville will do better. If Chicago Fire goes around rerun CSIs, it has an advantage, but not enough to keep it on top overall.

Thanks for pointing that out! I have noted as much in the text.

I found it interesting that not only is it a clip show for Nashville tonight, but CMT will be showing a marathon on Sunday of the entire season thus far. Should be interesting if it makes any impact. The biggest argument from people regarding serialized dramas is that they don’t know what’s going on, so why bother jumping in now.

As for next week, it will be difficult to predict. CSI is not on, The People’s Choice Awards will be airing. I still say Nashville wins next week but it will be very close.

    Nashville- 2.1
    Chicago Fire- 1.9

Nashville is going to crash and burn with the second half of it’s season.

    No New Normal polls? Bloop!

  • J.G.

They’ll continue to be neck and neck for the rest of the season with each going in that 1.7-2.0 range. They’ll both be back next season I bet.

I bet Chicago Fire gets renewed….
    Nashville, I doubt it.

nashville is a clip show on a night of repeats and chicago fire goes up when there’s no original CSI. so it’ll obviously win tonight.

sucks that ABC didn’t do a nashville marathon like they did for OUAT last year, but hopefully it does well this spring.

  • HT

Nashville is a “clip show”, wtf is wrong with network tv these days? It’s nothing but “catch up clip shows” and re-runs of mediocrity.

  • Dan S

I’ve been enjoying Nashville but a clip show will get its head handed to it by Chicago Fire tonight. Next week will be a better comparison & hopefully Nashville can stay above 2.0 then.

    Chicago Fire

  • Gina

I love both shows, my favorites right now, so I hope they get signed for complete second seasons as they’re great. :)

  • NBC is awesome

Chicago Fire is great! The last episode was amazing, and an’t for the tonight’s. It will definitely win!
