Doug–the right wing doesn’t get it—STILL–they lost the election by huge margins and virtually all of their philosophies were repudiated…and they still cling to absurd philosophies–they don’t learn……why? Even Pavlov’s dog learned………..

Rebs lost because they are left wing. I would not vote for them

  • RedBarSoup

they are left wing. I would not vote for them

    YOU DON’T SAY!!!??

  • usa8888

Cathy–in spite of the Koch Bros and Adelson trying to buy the election with hundreds of millions of dollars of outright lies in ad buys all across the county (e.g., saying that Obama doesn’t care about the middle class and Robme does), AND in spite of the fact the the right wing GOP tried their hardest to suppress the vote in many states…they still couldn’t win the election. The right wing GOP’s views are those of a bigoted dinosaur, with which even the moderate repubs disagree!!! Chris Christie saw first hand how effective and concerned Obama was and lauded him. With people like Christie, lots could get done. But when you have the incredibly uneducated right wing kooks (like Palin, Perry, etc) and the religious fanatics (like Insanitorum), there is no way to reason with these type people. They, the right wing kooks, want the US to default on its debt, even though it has already been incurred. It’s hard to imagine such backward thinking, but we see it empirically happening…..

You’re full of fudge. Apple really understands & follows the ratings more than any other poster here. Sorry, H.B.

Some of Obama’s Tax Evaders of 2012

Google supported Obama 31-to-1 with workers pitching in some $800,000 toward his re-election.

    1. Google’s Netherlands subsidiary disclosed in a tax filing that it had shifted nearly $10 billion in revenues to a Bermuda shell company. That’s “almost double the total from three years before,” according to Bloomberg News

    Leftists crickets chirping

2.The Wash. Po. supported Obama for president and singled out his support for “revenue (tax) increases

The paper is giving 2013 dividends in 2012 to protect investors from paying higher Obama taxes on dividend income.

    Leftist’s crickets chirping.

    3. Bonus irony: The $70 million year-end dividend payment will be a windfall for other “higher taxes for thee, but not for me” Obama supporters, including donor Warren Buffett’s firm Berkshire Hathaway. According to The Associated Press, “Berkshire is its largest shareholder, with an estimated 1.7 million shares, which means it could get a roughly $17 million dividend payment.”

    4. Matthew’s Costco… mega-retailer’s co-founder, Jim Sinegal, is a lifelong Democrat and top Obama fundraiser. Like The Washington Post, the Costco board of directors voted to pay special $7 per share year-end dividends to avoid higher taxes. In addition, Costco will borrow $3.5 billion to finance the payout, according to The Wall Street Journal. Higher taxes, more debt. They built that.

On & on they go …. Facebook(tax avoidance sum adds up to at least $200 million, )George Lucas , billionaire Star Wars director called Obama a “hero” but sold his film company $4 billion in cash and stock to evade anticipated capital gains tax increases and Obamacare Medicare surtaxes on investment income, Andre “Dr. Dre” Young,t he rap mogul is now using a County Cork, Ireland, tax haven to protect his global headphones empire subsidiaries and avoid high U.S. corporate tax rates, etc. , etc, etc.

    Anyone hear chirping crickets ???

FOX is in trouble long term. The core of the network is 65+. When the news is big and really counts, CNN just destroys. They are still the most trusted name in news by those who do not watch cable news daily. Maddow, Lawrence and MSNBC are seemingly starting to pull in the key demo over time. FOX’s ratings are sadly inflated by all the retirees and older population. Us Republicans have got to stop pretending that FOX is really winning the rating war by that much anymore :/

And once you add in all of the network’s secondary channels, FOX is on the same playing field as everybody else.

Doug–your comments are helping the dems………..

You are right. Rebs are libs and they caused this Economic mess. 1994-2008/ Rebs have lost the way. They are just like Demos. I am a Libertarian. I do not fit.

  • GOPfan

And the talk of media bias is just a far right wing conspiracy. FOX is conservative, MSNBC is liberal, CNN is straight down the damn middle (which is honestly why they lose on ratings so much because they offer true journalism over opinion), CNBC is conservative, FBN is conservative, HLN is just kind of there…

  • Doug Z

Fox will do fine. They have no competition. They are the only right wing network.

  • Doug Z

CNN has no conservatives . Joe S is not one, Oh wrong Chanel for Joe. CNN still has no conservatives.

  • Doug Z

    Do not forget GE

I think you read to much into the 2012 election. Rarely do we have a one term President. The party of the seating President normally picks up house and senate seats during a presidential election. If Romney’s 47% statement and Sandy wouldn’t have happened it highly likely there would be a Republican in the White House.

At no point, between the end of the primaries and election day, was Romney leading in an aggregate in state polls. In other words, at no point was polling showing that Romney was in a good position to get 270 electoral votes; not before Sandy, not before the 47% video, not after the Denver debate. NEVER. We’re in a different age – most likely voters knew who they wanted to vote for long before election day, and it just so happens that the Obama machine has the most sophisticated turn-out operation in all of politics.

As for the rest, all post-election polling indicates that there’s more at play here than just the difficulty of defeating an incumbent. Republicans were unpopular on election day, and they’re even less popular now. Have you looked at some of the fiscal cliff polling? 63% Disapproval for the Republican leaders in Congress, vs 49% for Democratic leaders, and 43% for Obama, as per Gallup. Pew and WaPo show a similarly dire portrait of how America views the Republican Congress, and there’s a lot of crossover with Republican voters disapproving as well – clearly, their approach to legislating isn’t working.

In two months when Obama comes back and ask for a raise in the debt ceiling, more taxes and more spending. Americans are going to be backing blocking the increases.

That isn’t how the debt ceiling works. Failing to raise the debt ceiling to ‘stop spending’ is like purposely tanking your personal credit rating from 850 to 350, to stop your own borrowing. Sure, in a roundabout way you’ll achieve your goal, but you’ll also get hit with all the consequences you’re ostensibly trying to avoid.

The whole reason we’re trying to lower the debt in the first place is to retain faith in U.S. bonds and the dollar as a reserve currency. Obviously, defaulting on our debt would in very immediate fashion, destroy faith the dollar, so there is no upside to that scenario. All that these phony principled stands and symbolic votes are accomplishing is market uncertainty, and undermining international faith in the U.S. government.

We forgot Goldman Sac, 32 X-employees work for BHO

  • DB

What is more rare than a unicorn?? Thats right a usa888 post that is not pure opinion or contains backup to his “facts”. People like him can vote–is that not the scariest thing of all time.

  • Doug Z

Why would a real conservative vote for Mitt.

  • Doug Z

do not forget Citigroup with 22 X-employees

  • GOPfan

    Doug Z

only a far right wing or tea party person would say Joe is not a Republican. Joe is what this party used to stand for: conservative values and decency. Lately we stand for no purpose but to oppose Obama and I am sick of it.

We lost the mandate, Obama has it, and we can compromise but the American people voted for more liberal policies. It is the will of the people. Why are we forgetting that we are supposed to go with the general will of the majority on major legislation during presidential terms. The balance is to protect the minority not force its will.

And CNN has John King, Marsha Blackburn, Amy Holmes, WIlliam Bennett, Amy Pfotenhauer, Erick Erikson, Leslie Sanchez, Mary Matlin, Alex Castellanos, Rich Galen, Margaret Hoover, Ari Fleischer, Kevin Allen, and countless others are amongst the biggest CNN contributors and are ALL conservatives. The chief analysts and reporters are all independents or very very very slight lean. At CNN, it is completely balanced. At MSNBC, they are more far left than fox is far right but at least they own up to it. O’Reilly still refuses to admit he is far right! I like the guy but why are we not admitting we are conservatives!?!

  • Doug Z

Mr usa where are you now. I am just working from the top of my head. If I Google this it would realy show big rich that worked for BHO.
