The Big Bang Theory, the 8PM episode of Mobbed and Elementary were each adjusted up a tenth while Two and a Half Men was adjusted down a tenth among adults 18-49 versus the preliminary Thursday broadcast ratings. This adjustment means that Big Bang Theory hit a new series high.

@ Ashley, I agree with you about MF. I watched a few episodes online from S1 and it was filled with stereotypes.
I’m with @Bob….bring ‘The Mentalist’ back to it’s Thursday night 10 PM slot and perhaps place ‘Elementary’ to Sunday nights after ‘The Good Wife’.
I’m pleasently surprised with TBBT, almost 20 million viewers! It’s reaching Friends kind of numbers (early and last season, although it has fewer demographics than Friends I suppose)! TBBT has seen only growth over each last few seasons! If it countinues it’s going to be unstopabble!
Awesome job, Elementary! And yay to PoI staying the same! Don’t care what the nitpickers have to say about the numbers – CBS’ Thursday dramas are doing well.
TBBT could be the last great scripted hit on American network television. Enjoy these ratings while they last, we might be asking ourselves “how did a single show get a 6.1 as late as 2013?” in ten years’ time.
I’m wondering if CBS would have launched a new sitcom out of a post-SB TBBT (similar to how FOX launched American Dad out of a post-SB Simpsons) if their comedy pilot season wasn’t so dire.
The Big Beast Theory is the new Friends.
I think NBC can still retry the Must See TV strategy as BBT won’t be around more than 5 years more than likely so their multi-cams can grow on Wednesdays and move back to Thursdays. CBS Mondays are like the minor leagues for CBS Thursdays.
CBS should have given the post Big Bang Theory timeslot to a new comedy with those massive ratings. Its just wasted on Two and a Half Men, which already has an audience.
POI was awesome last night as always
but Reese needs to be back soon!

@Judy912 & @Bob – “I’m with @Bob….bring ‘The Mentalist’ back to it’s Thursday night 10 PM slot and perhaps place ‘Elementary’ to Sunday nights after ‘The Good Wife’.”
Totally agree with you. Mentalist pairs much better with POI!
@Kissan

8:30 2 Broke Girls
9:00 Person Of Interest
10:00 The Mentalist
This will be a super Thursday – back to good old time 2011-12 season.
@Dochas
I totally wanted to add Football since my Skins were part of the highest rated NFL game EVER
Ever? No. Highest rated Sunday primetime game? Yes. Huge difference.
@Dochas
Also, the 2007 Patriots @ Giants game is actually the most watched Sunday primetime game at 34.6 million viewers, but it isn’t counted for historical comparisons due to being simulcast on NBC, CBS and NFL Network.
@Kissan
Sunday
10:00 Repeats
How does that make any sense?
@David Howell

Wouldn’t the more likely comparison in a decade be Two and a Half Men’s 10.7 rating for its premiere last season?
My 6.1 guess was spot on.
I’m surprised. Most shows grow in January from the levels seen in December, but topping the September premiere #s is less common.

Approaching Friends‘ lower viewership figures, yes. Approaching Friends‘ demo, not at all. I know that the series low for Friends in the demo was in the mid-lower 9′s; I’m not sure of the exact number. The official high was a 28.2 after the Super Bowl, but the high for a scheduled episode was a whooping 24.9.
Add: To get what I said into perspective, the series low for Friends is about 53% higher than the series high for The Big Bang Theory.
@were123
TBBT has seen only growth over each last few seasons! If it countinues it’s going to be unstopabble!
Also, are you saying that The Big Bang Theory is growing in its last year, whereas Friends was falling later in its timeline? If so, that’s incorrect, because the latter show actually peaked in its eighth season.
Correction: When I said “Also, are you saying that The Big Bang Theory is growing in its last year…”, I meant to say “Also, are you saying that The Big Bang Theory is growing in its later years…”
