CBS should’ve really taken advantage of the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl to boost a new comedy with BBT.

CBS doesn’t have any new comedies to boost.

Partners has been canceled and Friend Me is so bad they didn’t even put it on the schedule.

    @ Ultima

I’m talking about in general, this should’ve been the year that CBS picked up more new sitcoms than they did. They could’ve even kept Partners and tried to make it the next Will & Grace. They might be more aggressive next season when its a year too late.

Wow, a show with one thinrd of TBBT ratings is pretty much guaranteed renewal.
Infind it really funny that people are hating because, WHEN a SHIW GETS a FREEKIN 6.1, NO ARGUMENT DEVALUES IT!!!!!

  • POI

CBS must be feeling like they are going to renew it for another 3 or 4 seasons now.

ofcouse big bang theory is good. everything mainstream is good. like kim kardashian or rihanna

So in short, CBS against repeats (and some Fox crap) kicked ass… Can anyone be surprised?

I almost think TAAHM is more impressive. 4.5 for a show in its 10th season… that’s impressive. I realize it has the benefit of a behemoth before it, but RoE, HTBAG, and Rob were all after it last season and all bombed (well, RoE did ok, but nowhere close to a 4.5)

Good to see PoI finally uptick to a near 3.5. It had the benefit of no competition, but let’s hope it holds up a little.

    TBBT is a FLOP!!! ;-)

Quality-wise, TBBT has been mediocre this season. It’s been ranging from fantastic moments to utterly retarted episodes. Also, they’ve been using way to much sex jokes.
The ratings are great for it, but I wish Modern Family was still the highest-rated scripted show on TV.

Series high for POI!!!!! Awesome! POI deserves every one of those demo tenths, and more.

Why did Mobbed do better than Wednesday when it’s up against much more competition?

TBBT kicks ass on TBS all evening … and that’s after a zillion showings in local access slots. Chuck Lorre has created another monster. Now if he would just pull the plug on the god-awful 2.5. It would help if NBC would put something people would watch on Thurs 8:30.

You need to get a smack for that, man. Kim & Rihanna got where they did by “smoking dark meat”.
TBBT is funny and I knew it would be a hit from Episode 1 because there are far more people out there that can relate to those characters than to the fakeness from reality shows.

this should’ve been the year that CBS picked up more new sitcoms than they did

Their sitcom pilots were terrible. Are you trying to say they should have picked up four awful pilots instead of two?

They could’ve even kept Partners and tried to make it the next Will & Grace.

Nonsense. Partners’ ratings were terrible, leaving it on the air wouldn’t magically make it do good eventually.

CBS did the correct thing. Instead of expanding comedy time and airing a bunch of new shows with no chance of success, they decided to stay with what has been working.

You want to put “The Mentalist” on Thursday after Person of Interes? Um, no way. There’s a reason that show was moved to Monday night, and rightly so.

  • JD

Oops, I meant SUNDAY night. Yep, that’s where “The Mentalist” belongs. It’s had a good run over the past few seasons, but not good enough now to warrant a Thursday night slot.

  • Kissan

Off-topic: Does anybody know when FOX and ABC will have the Super Bowl?

  • CBSviewer

TBBT is certain to be canceled, no ? :P
