I know it doesn’t matter, but Emily Owens did decent with a repeat for a lead in!
I’m Not a so called fan of Parenthood (although I will be checking it out on dvd) but I think NBC is stupid for not expanding a 10 PM show that has a loyal audience week in and week out. Not to mention it beats a lot of other shows pretty much the whole comdey lineup. The only thing NBC has going for it is Sunday Night Football, The Voice, and Revolution which is leadin dependent (we’ll see come March if this is true or not, unless of course they air Voice in March ahead of RV). Of course Go On and Office are decent but Parenthood deserves more respect it grows out of its 930 leadin and is stable compared to the scripted shows on NBC. Parenthood deserves a full season order of 22 or more episodes. What a shame NBC treats this show like crap. no wonder why people call NBC Nothing But Crap. I’m just saying.
Speaking of loyal audiences look at emily owens. Too bad it can’t pull slightly higher numbers or it would have been picked up for a full season. And I must say I’m surprised at all the Cw shows repeating above one million viewers. I’m not surprised by arrow, supernatural, or vd repeating above 1 mil but hart of dixie did and nikita and batb have come close. Maybe Nikita will repeat above 1 mil tonight it has done it before it just gets really low demo points but had the audience.
Also when Emily owens ends why wouldn’t CW just put Cult at 8 I think it has a better chance of being a self starter than placing it behind hart of dixie. Either that or ship BATB to Tuesdays and put Cult behind VD. I’m so sick of CW wasting their time with new shows behind the struggling flat lined shows on the network. Let all the new Series air behind arrow or be self starters it is worth a shot!!!!!

What a shame NBC treats this show like crap
Parenthood has had the same timeslot for all four seasons, is a lock for renewal for a fifth season and 88 episodes, and, if it holds up, will probably get a sixth season and 100+ episodes.
Many shows have been treated much worse than Parenthood.
The thing with Parenthood is that it is too expensive, and the storyline is all planned before the season starts, so the less episodes the better, because of the quality!
Shows like Parenthood are rare on network television!
Parenthood is doing good and IMO it is one of the best dramas on broadcast TV. It would be a shame if it is missed by the Emmys again.
Parenthood has done very well. Could it have done even better in an earlier timeslot with a stronger lead-in? Maybe, sure. But I think it has a very loyal audience and has survived longer than anything CBS or ABC have put in the slot.
Much much better being tied for highest of the night, Parenthood. On New Years Day and very little promotion, a 1.8 is perfect.
And I agree with all the other posters. How this show continually gets passed up by the Emmys is beyond me.
Way to go Parenthood! My favorite show on TV. I will also echo what the rest of you are saying that I too do not understand why it is never nominated for Golden Globes, SAG’s or Emmys. It certainly deserves to be.
