For those wondering whether NBC would be able to squeeze the remaining episodes of Revolution in without running into June, wonder no more!

During today's TCA session NBC chief Bob Grenblatt referred to the "the last 10 episodes" of Revolution remaining to air this season. An NBC spokesperson confirmed to The Futon Critic that indeed there will only be 10 more episodes to air this season, which brings it to  a total of 20 episodes for the first season. Additionally NBC also cut the order for Deception by two episodes, from 13 to 11.

    So… 20 episodes? 10 fall season + 10 mid season…

yep. I had a typo in there about 22. fixed, thanks.

NBC fricken sucks! oh but they manage two seasons of the Voice, worst network ever

Gotta love networks… Brilliant strategists. Take your highest rated new show in years. Stick it on the bench for four months. Then reduce the order because you don’t have “time” to air it. Don’t double up on episodes. Don’t double up days. Keep it off the air as much as you can. Go NBC….

One mind-numbingly stupid decision after another… that’s NBC for ya!

  • Potato

It’s probably so they don’t go into July. Preemptive CALM DOWN, PEOPLE

  • Potato

My mistake, apparently this stops it from going into June entirely.

  • Paul

This is a joke. NBC, when will you learn?

  • Tyler D

This way, they run entirely behind The Voice originals.

Why are you mad….NBC will do what works for tham, they are not CBS. They will do like cable networks. That policy is working for cable will work and for NBC. Gme of thrones is 10 ep and is starting on 1 april(this season 31 march) and is going into june too. Not big deal. Althou i too prefer all season with repeats, but revolution on repeat will be like abc shows on repeat, not cbs.
ps CBS shows are procedurals or at least with procedural structure and that is why they rerun great.

    Not surprasing

oops! i meant not surprising lol

Something about the number 22 that I think fits TV so well. 22 just feels like a clean number…I don’t know.

Revolution was a disappointment to me though, I wish Last Resort got those 22 episodes :(

  • EatMorePez

There are 36 Mondays between September 17 and May 20. But NBC couldn’t figure out a way to air 22 episodes of their highest rated scripted show in that time. Unbelievable.

  • DryedMangoez

Why is it such a big deal that there’ll only be 20 episodes?

Your critic is not fair to NBC. NBC have not single other show to support RVN. Footbal is almost over and now are only the voice and RVN. The voice can’t air early than march and RVN is new show and need lead-in. If NBC have at least one show like TBBT like 10 years ago-friends or they was smart enough not to pass on the walking dead and pair both….then will be perfect. But they are not in that position righ now. NBC just don’t have a choice.

Well let’s be honest the Fall season could have done with a couple of episodes less… that show DRAGGED bad in places!

  • DonJ1973

I know Deception couldn’t fit in 13 episodes. There wasn’t enough time. It would have been dumb to shoot 13 episodes and then try to find a new home for the last 2. So, shooting 11 to fill the gap until Revolution made sense.

As for Revolution, What difference would it have really made if it went 2 weeks into June? Glee went into June during it’s 1st season after a really long hiatus.

They saw Chicago Fire ratings and realized that’s their real hit new drama.

Reducing the order of their most popular show in years? I echo the sentiment of the previous posters… only NBC would do something this stupid.
