For those wondering whether NBC would be able to squeeze the remaining episodes of Revolution in without running into June, wonder no more!

During today's TCA session NBC chief Bob Grenblatt referred to the "the last 10 episodes" of Revolution remaining to air this season. An NBC spokesperson confirmed to The Futon Critic that indeed there will only be 10 more episodes to air this season, which brings it to  a total of 20 episodes for the first season. Additionally NBC also cut the order for Deception by two episodes, from 13 to 11.

    If Revolution wasn’t heavily relying on The Voice as a lead-in, they could have done a 2 Hour Premiere on 3/25 and a 2 Hour Finale on 5/27. But unfortunately The Voice needs to be 2 hours.

    if the deduced order is all so no going into june why did the break have to be that long or air a double length final.

    @There are 36 Mondays between September 17 and May 20. But NBC couldn’t figure out a way to air 22 episodes of their highest rated scripted show in that time. Unbelievable.

    When you write it this way sounds funny to be fair and like nbc are some kind of idiots, but again math go wrong because they pair both the voice and revolution. Stupid, but simple. In the end last episode again will pass May 20 and one episode will be in june.

    @Petar

    Revolution’s finale will air 5/27. There is no episode airing in June.

    Tank it!

    In the end may be will have one of both – 2 hour premiere or 2 hour season finale if not end of the season will be in june. But Game of thrones runs in june too one or two episodes. Blackwater wich was best GoT episode from season 2 was in June for example.

    @lisa
    Because they greenlit Deception and the 11 episodes are just enough time to fill the gap until 3/25.

    Sure they could have greenlit only 6-8 episodes and then bring Revolution back sooner, but studios need more episodes to be able to sell the show internationally.

    Two words – the voice. NBC don’t want to risk now.

    @Revolution’s finale will air 5/27. There is no episode airing in June.

    Well i can check but guess May is with 5 weeks. Ok may be you are right.

    @Petar
    I don’t understand what your trying to say.

    Game of Thrones airs on Sunday. Your analogy doesn’t apply to this.

    Really 20 weeks to May 20something and you cant air 12 episodes….
    what a JOKE.. NBC always has, and Always will be a looser network. They seem to WANT to fail…
    BTW I dont even watch this show or any NBC Show for that matter.
    Just feel bad for the Fans of the show..
    I feel your Pain guy’s…….

    I don’t think this is a stupid decision at all. Perhaps the writers realized all they needed was 10 more episodes to finish up the season’s story. And NBC obviously wants to end it in the season.

  • John

    I’m actually a fan of this. That means 2 less “filler episodes” and I think it will leader to better pacing in the story arc of the 2nd half of the season.

    Less is often more fruitful in the end.

  • CBSviewer

    After all why NBC put it on hiatus ? It’s their highest rated drama !

  • James

    It may not be the smartest move, but I, personally, would rather have NBC have a lot of series (like they do) then insist on every series going 22 or 13 episodes per season. I actually applaud NBC for the variety, good and bad.

  • Dan

    Well I’m sure Revolution will still be renewed for a second season as long as it has The Voice to ride on.

  • DeanW

    NBC = Near Buried Company :p

    They made the mistake of putting everyone off so long already.It was bringing them great ratings and now it will just hurt them more.If I am invested in another show by the time it comes back on I will not watch.My DVR only tpes one other show while I watch another.Not giving up something that I have watched for severl months and like to please them.

    I thought they’d at least let Revolution start late January-early February to minimize the break. Biggest Loser isn’t the best lead-in ever, but I figured that NBC would want to see how strong the show really was, because I’m expecting them to move it next fall so another show can get the big boost.

    LMAO when does a high rated show eer be given a episode cut? Ive never seen this happen before only to low rated crap shows. NBC really know that this trash heavily relies on the voice as a lead in.

  • Rich

    It’s a way to save money…..two less shows to spend on production!
