Wow, those numbers for CSI: NY and Blue Bloods; that’s not good – I’ve seen better from these two shows. CBS should have made this a repeat night. If CSI: NY doesn’t rebound, I don’t see a 10th season in it’s already bleak looking future. Blue Bloods might take a hit if Jennifer Esposito’s fans depart after hearing the news yesterday. Wow. Just horrible.

“Wow, those numbers for CSI: NY and Blue Bloods; that’s not good – I’ve seen better from these two shows.”

Huh? Both shows averaged a 1.4 for new episodes during the Fall, and both went below 1.4 several times. Those ratings aren’t at all surprising.

They’re terrible, but for those two shows this season they’ve always been terrible.

You are right but both of them will be Renewed. I think CBS won’t kill another veteran Show on Friday.
Plus CSI: NY is a 9-years drama and it’s doing better than Blue Bloods which is only on its 3rd Season. Considering BB needs another Season for Syndication, CSI: NY will get a 10th Season to help it.

Blue Bloods ratings are surprising. 1.3 is very low and it’s only the tenth episode of the season. Without CSI: NY the show will maybe hit a new low.

IMO, the replacement for Jennifer Esposito is horrible. I hope the producers don’t feel that just because she is younger or more attractive in their opinion that it can replace the chemistry between Jennifer and Donnie. Jennifer was more convincing/realistic in the role. The new actress does not seem legit as a police offer. CBS and the producers need to do the right thing. They should write a story line explaining why Jennifer’s character was missing for awhile and bring her back immediately.

    “Blue Bloods ratings are surprising.”

Only to someone who hasn’t been paying attention.

    BB Fall episode ratings were: 1.5 1.2 1.4 1.3 1.5 1.3 1.5 1.5 1.4

    Still “surprised” at that 1.3?

Hasnt Jennifer Esposito signed up for her own reality show on E!?

    @ Bill

It’s surprising because last year BB got very good ratings.

    BB Fall episode ratings for the 2011-2012 season: 2.0 1.8 1.9 1.8 1.7 2.1 1.7 2.0 1.6 1.8

BB is very low this season.

Jennifer Esposito was replaced because she is suffering of Celiac disease and she probably won’t come back in Blue Bloods and she’s probably not able to sign for a new Show.

Even CBS have some very low-rated dramas this season. I’m convinced that CSI NY would have been cancelled last season if it weren’t for the miserable failure of the CBS comedy pilot season (if they had two good new sitcoms, they could have plugged those and Rules into an expanded comedy block, but they didn’t even have one good new sitcom).

Quite how they’d have shuffled the others with four comedy hours instead of three I’m not sure – presumably POI would have moved to 10/9c, I’m guessing that Elementary would have been Sunday 9/8c and TGW Friday 9/8c. (And with that scheduling, I don’t see how the post-SB slot doesn’t go to a sitcom, but that’s another matter…)
