Wow for Y&R………………Now as good as the writing’s been especially with Jack’s drug addiction, let’s hope it continues to rise!

Uh Oh, GH hits 3 millions………….B&B, you need to up your game now!!!

    Happy all soaps are up!!!!!!!!!

  • chris

Holidays always show soaps love in the ratings. I wish the uptrend would continue for all 4 soaps but it won’t. The only show that might hover around the same viewers is gh due to word of mouth that the gh is great again. Y&R and BB I hear mixed to negative reviews and I don’t even know iF days is on the right track anymore. If they have eileen davidson back they should utilize her character and make a comeback with all veteran classic characters.

  • Chrisann D

Ok just have to say……GH WHOOT WHOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving the drama!

  • Mike

So proud for Y&R. Not loving every part of it, but glad to see it get a boost for the week of Christmas.

Days and Y&R both got good overall boosts too — up in total viewers, but also up in both of the 18-49 and 18-34 demos. That will look good to the advertisers.

It would be wonderful if they could get these ratings every week.

Glad for B&B too even though most of theirs were older viewers like me or at least those out of the key demo. They were down in the 18-34 and only had a slight increase in the 18-49. Love B&B.

  • LynTX

Happy ALL soaps rebounded from prior week. Will give Y&R the thumbs up when it beats is prior yr #s. Right now its all over the place but will hopefully gel in coming months. (Y&R can get back to regular 5M #s.)

  • cc

    Woo hooooooo!! Go GH!

  • Jeff

Yeah for GH and all the soaps. They need to sustain these #’s now, and GH needs to go up in the demo even more.

  • James

    Yay GH!!!!

  • Stephen Judson

Great that all soaps are up.

  • MBmomof3

Great week to be a soap fan. Loving it!

  • Derek Vincent

Oh, General Hospital, I’m so glad Ron and Frank’s run is going so well. These two men should be quite proud of themselves for bringing this show back. It’s been incredible and I’m glad the numbers are starting to show that.

Think how high Y&R could go if they actually would turn out good and INTERESTIING stories. I’ll watch again tonight. I certainly don’t want to miss most of the cast chatting and chatting and chatting with each other again trying to decide on which company they are going to be working at — or Chelsea and Adam having more coversations in front of that couch. They haven’t moved from that spot in 3 months. This show has gone way past too much. (Jack’s recovery with Phyllis is refreshing though). But they introduced another annoying airhead yesterday (Adriana) who is an exact clone of another annoying character (Chloe). 1 step forward — 2 steps back…

  • Sophie

So very happy with the ratings for all soaps, but my heart is so HAPPY FOR GH!!!! Way to go, to the writers, actors and to the fan’s!!!!!

  • diana

Glad to see DAYS hit 2.0 for the Christmas epi, I’d like to see more heartwarming family moments! I thought GH’s Christmas epi STUNK, but I’m happy GH’s ratings are going up. RC and RV are doing their best to ENTERTAIN the audience, and that’s why people are tuning in!

GH just got the way better end of this deal. YR can have Steve Burton because Genie Francis is coming back to GH! Alright Frank and Ron, now it’s time for Bobbie to come back to her Port Charles home. GH #’s should just keep rising and rising!

  • Ashley

DOOL seems stuck at 0.8. I think it will go off the air this year.

  • JayTN

I know some people think that Y&R is getting better, others think it is still slow and/or boring, but I would bet that Peter Bergman will get an Emmy nomination for Jack’s prescription drug addiction storyline.

Love it or loathe it, storylines such as these seem to impress the Academy and Emmy voters. If Y&R does get a lot of nominations and wins, it will at least allow CBS to crow about its “award winning” soap in TV and print ads.

Ashley…NBC President Bob Greenblatt has already said that “Days” will continue on NBC past September. The details have not yet officially been announced by the network.

  • Rick Delaware

These ratings only represent a portion of each shows actual true viewership. Thanks to alternative ratings sources like rentrak, the network execs are aware if this. Like DAYS, for example, it’s season to date ratings bring it up to where it’s been for the last ten years on average. Plus you have soapnet, DVR, and inline viewing that isn’t counted in the weekly results.

lmao, read the first part of my previous post yesterday where I guessed what would be on the next Y&R episode. The show started with Billy & Victoria discussing (for the 1000th time) her getting involved with her Father’s company again, and then I just screamed on the next scene that showed Adam coming around that couch taking his tie off and starting to talk to Chelsea. Can I nail this boring, predictable show or what?
