No, for all purposes “Fox News” is only the cable network. The only program that Fox broadcast and Fox News have in common is “Fox News Sunday”, and even then ratings are computed separately for each side.
Local news is its own animal, be it on a affiliate of Fox, ABC, NBC or CBS.
Doug, In most states if you are on unemployment you are the only bread winner in the family, you get food stamps. I don’t think they look at anything else. Ten years ago when my husband was laid off and I was staying home with our children, when he went to the unemployment office they told him he got food stamps. They didn’t care about our house, our cars, our IRAs, our bank account or anything. Our children were put on MIchild health insurance right away. And it covered more then any health insurance we ever had.
Likely because we lived below our means, for the six months my husband was out of work we made money. It cost money to go to work and the MIchild insurance for my kids had no co-pays and covered speech classes that my two youngest children needed. I also had $50 -$75 of food stamps left at the end of each month.
I do believe there should be a safety net and we used it and would use it again. However, you shouldn’t be better off on the safety net then you are when you work. If my family was, I’m sure most people are.
@AppleStinx
Your answer was constructed/communicated so much better than mine.:mrgreen:
@sunshine
You beat me to it.
I meant that as a compliment to you AS. I tend to go all around town before getting to the actual point. I envy you and d.d. and a few others who post here.
@sunshine, thanks for answering. I was really hoping for Matthew, Mark2 or Redbar to answer. I believe the same as you. I don’t think the local news is conservative. But I’ve had a number of people tell me watching the local Fox channel news is Fox News.
I like Huel Perkins, he is on the left. But he doesn’t let people get away with being stupid. When Michigan passed a rule stating that if your children misses to much school you lose your welfare check. Welfare mom’s come on Fox to explain why it was an unfair rule. Huel kept shaking his head and saying, “I don’t understand why you can’t get you children to school.”
Anyway Detroit school attendance is at an all time high this year. Doe’s that surprise anyone. Link money to sending you children to school and the kids make it to school.
@apple, thanks… I was talking more about a point of view, then ratings. I know for ratings they are different. I’ve had many liberal friends tell me that Fox news Detroit is directed by the owners to be a conservative news channel. I’ve always thought they were mistaken. I was wondering about others take.

I was really looking forward to USA8888 telling us how these monday ratings show how MSNBC is beating Fox. I’m sure it was because all of the people watching the football game were MSNBC viewers. It is really fun watching the delusional rationalize their strange little worlds.
USA8888….WHERE ARE YOUUUUUU///
DB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how the heckers are ya?????
I am still waiting for USA8888 to explain how 5 million votes out of 150 million registered voters is a huge win for king Obama!!!
I dont this he is so good at the rithmaticin! His “goesintas” aint so good!
I guess it does not matter who has the majority in the house or the Senate and who wins and loses those elections because King Obama has decided he dont need no stinking legislative branch!!
Biden: Obama Considering ‘Executive Order’ to Deal With Guns
Vice President Joe Biden revealed that President Barack Obama might use an executive order to deal with guns.
“The president is going to act,” said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. “There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”
clinging to my god and DB, Don’t you know that school has restarted after it’s long holiday break. He has classes now. He’ll stop by tonight.
cathy
Fox local new is just that local. In St Louis it is Liberal just like the city. Other places here it would be Conservative, I would hope.

Democrats will not like it when we get a conservative GOP, in 20 years.

But isnt kindygarten just a half day???
@Ratboy, it’s sad to hear. But there is hope. Obama always has one of his administration members throw an idea out to the public to see how it goes over. So, let’s just hope that people yell and scream about an executive order. And maybe it won’t happen.
gas dropped to 2.83 a gallon today.
I didn’t realize 8888 went to school, I thought he knew everything already. Of course, as many on here have pointed out, he doesn’t know how to back his posts with sources. Don’t hold your breath Rat,he won’t back up his landslide statement and he can’t back up his “majority of Americans are for gun control” because it isn’t true. He is laughable but it is scary that there are so many brainwashed folks just like him.
In the wake of the financial meltdown, President Barack Obama derided Wall Street bonuses as “obscene,” calling them examples of “fat cats who are getting awarded for their failure.”
But now, Mr. Obama has announced that he will nominate as his next Treasury secretary Jack Lew, a man who in 2009 bagged a $950,000 bonus after his bank, Citigroup, received billions in a taxpayer-funded bailout.
