   can u call a 1.1 for Cougar Town a flop? Its cable and well that seems decent. Im not a cougar fan but its hardly a flop.

   I’d say that is really great for the Lying Game. Very close to the Switched at Birth premiere number.
   The Fosters is just a family soap. There is nothing that is break out about it. Switched at Birth had the switch, and the deafness, and the hispanic culture clash. I agree Socio is the more breakout idea. I still think its a tough thing for them to do without a really brilliant writer. Maybe they have one.

   the Fosters, socio, who gives a flying fck. Abc family is a flop network with only one hit show right now. it’s pointless judging shows that haven’t been picked up for series here. you haven’t read the pilot script or seen the final product to know what will stick and what won’t.

   anywho, great ratings for pll. crap show but good rating.

    YAY Lying Game!!!! I would figure with PLL at a 1.4 that TLG could get at least a .8. But this show is a addicting sort of like Scandal and maybe after a few episodes it can hit a new high like Scandal.

    It feels good to see Cougar Town ratings back on TVBTN

    People hating on The Lying Game have to keep in mind that ABC kept the show off the air for a year.It not only remained stable, but came back up from the spring. You can’t just put a big lead-in and expect huge numbers it doesn’t work that way. Look at Scandal that show is taking off and getting a lot of buzz now it started off with horrible retention. The Lying Game has potential and ABC Family should be patient with it a lot of people are discovering it on Netflix.

    amazing numbers for pll. those numbers for the lying game are good, especially considering it has been off the air for a year. it almost pulled the same numbers as switched at birth did on monday and that show is only coming off a 3 month hiatus. it will be interesting to see if the lying game can hold steady though. i don’t think it can. my guess is it drops to around 1.3 million viewers next week with a 0.5 demo. that is probably about where it will be for the season. i think both it and bunheads get axed after this season.

    Exactly – TLG has been off way too long and for them to still have get that many viewers is pretty solid. Switched at Birth got 0.7 as well and it’s a lead-in show. I think the show has developed a good base of fans and since it’s an Alloy/Sara Shepard production, it might be spared and given a final 8-10 to round out the series.

    The Lying game’s number is not bad. Yet for those who use excuse like on hiatus for a year is not realistic. Cable shows have a run of about 10 episodes every year and then we have to wait for another 9 months to get new ones. But we keep getting record breaking season premiere ratings from shows say Dexter and Walking Dead. It’s not like ABC F didn’t promote The Lying game. People will watch the show if they like it. Stop making excuses.

    alexis, i’m not sure how you can honestly compare tlg to shows like dexter and the walking dead. dexter and the walking dead get tons of amounts of advertising and promotion throughout the year, be it from social media, magazines, tv etc. tlg gets very, very little promotion from its own network, usually a month before its return and that’s really all they get, so it’s long hiatus is absolutely an excuse. btw i am not a tlg viewer or fan so my opinion is unbiased.

    Umm… In the past year, no show has had the PLL lead in BUT TLG. (I Think JBD Too, but that was nothing like it.) TLG is a flop. I watch it and i know it’s a flop. 1.4 For PLL, 0.7 For TLG. It fell .7 Points.

    That’s not great. SAB Got 0.7 and Bunheads only fell .2 from it not .7. I think they should renew bunheads because it can retain at least most of the lead in’s audience. Also when it was after TSLOTAT It still got the exact same demo (Or roughly the same)

    Good lord, how long have you been following TV ratings? Networks never renew or cancel a show based on that rationale.

    If TLG gets a 0.7 and Bunheads gets a 0.5, that means TLG has a better chance of renewal. Retention of the lead in is irrelevant.

    TLG’s ratings are pretty meh, it lost half its lead-in, but it is far more compatible with PLL than Bunheads can ever be and I think Bunheads would’ve gotten less than 0.7 had it was aired after PLL yesterday. If ABCFamily choose to keep one of these two shows then they should renew TLG over Bunheads imo, but they can always choose to cancel both..
