I have no doubts that Go On’s ratings were harmed by the schedule snafu. 4.29 million after only dipping below 6.0 (5.82) once in the previous 11 episodes. Plus New Girl hasn’t beaten Go On this year then miraculously wins the time slot in the new year.

  • ILoveSitcoms

Correction: New Girl wins the sitcom battle at 9pm, not the time slot.

  • Hugh

Nice job Parenthood winning the time slot

  • John A

WOW New Girl total viewers are horrible. Its very young skewing like a cable show.

  • Ted Craig

So, people are still clinging to that “Nobody knew the heavily promoted Bob Costas episode of Go On was on because some sites had it wrong?” Really? Is that for the Deluxe Edition of Fan Excuse Bingo?

  • TheFollowing

    Go new girl!

  • ILoveSitcoms

    @Ted Craig:

    Go On, Total Viewers:

    Week 6: 6.65
    Week 7: 6.12
    Week 8: 6.09
    Week 9: 6.20
    Week 10: 6.06
    Week 11: 6.67

    Last Night: 4.29

Fan Excuse Bingo? Looks like an aberration to me.

Heavily promoted? Maybe it was somewhere, I didn’t see a single ad for it with my tv viewing habits.

    @Petar Ivanov

“ps ncis la can go 5th even 6th CBS drama after all. What a failing.”

Funny because in the report for the C3 report through week 10(got the report from a friend who get one at work), NCIS:LA is the number 3 drama with a 2.9 equal to Person of Interest. NCIS is number 1 drama with a 3.3 while Criminal Minds is number 2 with a 3.0. Other shows that do better than this, TBBT at 5.0, Two and a Half Men with a 3.6, 2 Broke Girls with a 3.4 and How I meet your Mother did a 3.1.

Maybe you're not an NFL football fan then, because it was very heavily promoted during both of the Wildcard games on Saturday.

As for those who say the networks should give up trying to run sitcoms against each other, it wasn't an issue going back into the 1990's, when CBS and NBC both ran Monday night comedy blocks, NBC and ABC ran comedy blocks on Tuesday nights, CBS, NBC, and ABC all ran some comedies on Wednesday nights, and NBC's Must-SEE-TV comedies went up against FOX's urban comedies. These things come in waves, and it was only back in 2009 that there were hardly any comedies on TV outside of the CBS Monday night comedy block and FOX's Animation Domination.

I thought that’s the whole point – its level of viewers was entirely dependent on airing after The Voice. Why would its first time in an unprotected time slot be an aberration? There’s nothing to compare it to yet.

  • Michelle

@ILoveSitcoms I don’t think it’s a surprise at all that Go On dropped vs. its numbers earlier in the season (though the decrease may have been a little bigger than anticipated). Throughout the fall, Go On had the good fortune to be scheduled after The Voice, which was a huge hit for NBC. Now that it’s airing after a much lower-rated – and possibly less compatible show – a ratings decline isn’t a huge shock. This isn’t anything new. Look at how much Cougar Town, Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B fell when they no longer followed Modern Family. That said, it’s entirely possible some people weren’t aware there were new episodes and maybe there will be a slight uptick next week, but it’s unlikely it’ll pull the same numbers it did when running after The Voice.

I expected go on to get 1.8 – 1.9 without voice. and yes I didnt know that yesterday’s episode was new.. Lets wait for a week to confirm if Go on is a flop or it was really a schedule error..

even if its a error it ll get oly around 1.8 I guess

  • Cory

Those are some seriously young skewing sitcoms on Fox, besides maybe RH

  • Terry

Come on people watch Vegas its a well crafted drama!

Anybody find it strange that New Girl and Raising Hope have nearly the same total audience? I know total viewers don’t matter, but I didn’t think I’d see the day.:)

So, Ben and Kate holds better than New Girl does….

ben and kate holds better than Mindy I mean.

If Bena dnKAte were after new girl it would have as high or higher ratings.

Believe it or not, I wouldnt be surprised to see Ben and KAte back – it might be the huge “shock” this season – as the network loves it and it actually holds nicely out of Raising Hope.

HANDS DOWN New Girls is more poular than Go On…

To say otherwise you’d be deranged.

The New Normal Im rooting for, I love it but it needs to be increase in ratings a .2 or so That is posisble, but it needs to become more interesting.

Parenthhod REALLY should be 22 or 24 episodes even. Seriously. Its amazing and the talent is incredible. Seriously the most underrated show Ive ever seen on Network.
