I’m really happy for The Neighbors. It has great retention after The Middle. I’ve been saying that those two comedies are really compatible. I would love for ABC to air a special episode of The Neighbors after Modern Family as well. It wouldn’t hurt to get as much exposure as possible. This show has potential.

I’ve also been saying that Suburgatory had dipped in quality. I’m not saying it should be cancelled, but moving it to another night, such as Friday, might be its best bet. ABC has to continue to try new comedies after Modern Family that have the possiblity to perform better. They need a comedy that can constantly garner over 3.0

Nashville good job it’s certian renewed

Tessa on Suburgatory was really a “downer” last night. She also looked like she had just crawled out of bed for every one of her scenes.

In my opinion, “Dahlia” steals the show.

And yes, I agree that it isn’t nearly as good as last year.

Too many plots and characters crammed into 21.5 minutes! Wow!

good for nashville for adjusting up, not a viewer of the show but I might check it out. SVU did solid for a veteran show.. Although Chicago Fire has been ticking up in ratings I’m not quite sure if it will keep up. But then again the show does outperform a lot of NBC lineup.. Good for Arrow and Supernatural for repeating great for CW. I really hope they get good shows in next year, ones that will stick.

Something about The Neighbors (not u) many may have missed. Disney ran a marathon of the show on The Disney Channel over Christmas break. That appears to have worked.

And Suburgatory is hardly a flop.

Nashville is not that great, Chicago Fire should be winning that timeslot with a bigger margin.

i love nashiville so glad its doing along with revenge and scandal

The only show I watch on Thursday is Modern Family, but I’m glad Nashville was adjusted up. I’ve only seen parts of two episodes and it was a little too soap opera-ish for my taste, but there are some really talented people on that show.

Overall a very good night for everyone. Even the cw did very well with their repeats… It is shocking how well arrow and supernatural repeat. As much as I think that they need supernatural on tuesdays next year, i think it would be crazy to mess up with this powerful block, they need to leave it together.

ABC had a really good night and Nashville is starting to improve. If it is able to keep these numbers, I think castle might become a bubble show. Then again, ABC is hardly in a state in which they will be too picky with their renewals. I could see a scenario in which all out of Greys, Once, Revenge, Scandal, Castle and Nashville are renewed. But that is probably assuming bop, red widow and zero hour are all canceled and while i think the latter two will be one and done, i think bop will escape death again for some reason.

As for NBC, I am glad about chicago fire holding up. Avoiding CSI and airing repeats might be a good strategy for them but may also break the momentum they have going, so I dunno. SVU is also doing better now but i think it is also the abscence of criminal minds. The comedies are what they are. I still say whitney will be renewed, guys with kids is a bubble show, i need to see a bit more of the spring ratings of everyone.

Even after an adjustment, Chicago Fire still beat Nashville. Wasn’t there a poll about this which would win?

Surprised at the numbers of PCA. This award has no credibility. How to value a choice where voters vote as many times as they want. Example: Castle won as favorite cop show, with 9 million viewers on overage. NCIS has lost almost 20 million viewrs weekly. Clearly NCIS is more admired and beloved than Castle.
PCA is a prize for fans clubs only. It does not measure quality or taste of the public.

I agree about Suburgatory going down in quality…it started the second half of last year especially with the whole Alicia Silverstone arc and this year I have given up watching. And I agree Dalai is the funniest thing about it.

As far as NBC, I don’t think they’re doing themselves any favors by scheduling so erratically…how can they build any momentum. Since it debuted, I don’t think Whitney gas aired a new so more than two weeks in a row. Is the CSI audience really the same that watches Whitney? I don’t get it. If they’re that afraid of competition, air it on Fridays where it wax originally scheduled and it did really well in summer repeats .

Also, I agree with other that have said that ABC would have been better off by sticking with Middle/Suburgatory/Modern Family/The Neighbours, even though I would have never though so back then. Suburgatory would probably not fall much from where it is now at 8h30 and the increase the neighbours should have at 9h30 should more than compensate for any small dip

  • moshane58

Chicago fire is a great show.Love it.Really surprised more people aren’t watching it.

I agree that It is stupid to have an awards show where everyone can vote over and over again.

In regards to the statement of NCIS having double the viewers of Castle well that is a true statement as well when viewing through Nielsen boxes.. I truly do believe that a lot of people watch a lot of other shows outside of the “top Nielsen” shows provided us on a nightly and weekly basis. I am a firm believer that a lot of shows that aren’t top 10 nielsen shows could actually outperform the actual top ten it just does not have nielsen to prove it.

With this said I do believe PCA is quite honestly a joke, however just because ncis is a top viewed nielsen rated show doesn’t mean another show can beat it.. Do you think all the 50 plus viewers vote for pca, no and not that castle skews the youngest crowd, however their are a lot of factors that play into a show beating another. Yes one factor is calling in 9 times and voting or online whatever. Another is the fanbase and the age demo of people viewing these shows that will take their time to make sure their show is in contention.

    Great for NASHVILLE!

  • Rick

Any fan of the nighttime soaps would enjoy Nashville. Any fan of country music would also love Nashville. I’m not a fan of either , but I find Nashville the most appealing new drama on tv.
ABC may have a future hit on its hands. It has the potential to become the next big drama for ABC.

Surprised that Suburgatory was so close to Neighbors after the timeslot switch, I thought Neighbors was going to nosedive into the 1s for sure. Can’t see it not being renewed now.

Suburgatory downward revision really not a shock though, MF always runs through to 9:31 to squeeze more ads into that half-hour and the last minute of MF would have bled into the preliminary ratings for Suburgatory. Always happens.

YES at CF being over 8 million viewers!
