Yeah I know right! How dare I compare the two! Jon Stewart only points out the BS, fallacies and hypocritical stances of Fox News and MSNBC on a daily basis. Both him and 90% of the shows on Fox News are entertainment. But, HEY! There IS a big difference between the two entertainment news oriented hosts! I loved it when he showed how dumb Fox News was, by trying to call the “9/11 mosque” a “terrorist mosque” because one of the backers was the “terrorist backing” brown person. Yet their network is 12% owned by The Saudi Prince. I can NEVER forget him pointing that out, it was great!
Yeah, that was hilarious! I’m laughing right now, almost forgetting how I stayed tuned in to Jon Stewart for real news after watching Cartman ‘Taylor Swifting’ and ‘Faith Hilling’.
Would that Saudi Prince (a “terrorist backing” brown person?!?!?) be the same to whom Obama bowed to? This is such a small world.

This is still missing the point – most editorial shows operate in the same way, and written to assume a certain level of knowledge. Pundit shows don’t operate in a ’6 O’Clock News’ style of “Here’s what happened today,” they operate in a “Here’s what happened today that I care about, and here’s how you should feel about it” kind of way. Nobody said “The Daily Show is Kronkite,” they said it’s comparable to other news commentary shows, which is entirely accurate.
O’Reilly and the rest might be able to give a little more depth, since they’re hour long shows, but that doesn’t mean the formats are dramatically different. And, again, in terms of actually informing the viewer, I’d place Stewart’s show well above Hannity, Sharpton, Matthews, Schultz, and The Five.

Take away the audience interaction (applause, boos, or lack thereof), and I’d agree.
By ‘lack thereof’ I mean the weakly whaned response when a response was expected.
whaned <— phaned. dangit.
Hey, don’t you dare pick on Southpark. I have learned so much from that show.

ahahaha? Do you watch Oreilly? His “audience” (crew) laughs just like John Stewarts. See, more similar than you think.
An occasional soft chuckle on the side lines by the filming staff, usually as a result of O’Reilly making a joke about himself or his sidekick Jesse Watters is NOT the same thing as a live studio audience.
See, they aren’t as similar as you would want me to think.

i’ve played this before but it’s a good song.
Jon Stewart is a variant of David Letterman or Jay Leno, offering some current world affairs, or news, mixed into pot full of comedy.
lol 1966, 80% through the song, the ‘what was I thinking’ clicked.

Funny, that’s exactly how I’d describe Oreilly and The Five. They are HILARIOUS!!
You must be in a constant state of giggling, RedBarSoup. So much is funny and HILARIOUS, how can you not hop and skip along while giggling…on your way to work, to the grocery store, or to the auto repair shop to talk to those greasy guys with a combo wrench?
I bet you were even giggling while you trotted up to the voting booth, a big smile on your face as you cast your vote for Our Dear Leader.
