Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

“So the Good Wife is one-tenth away from tying “Revenge” in the 18-49 demo,”

    Maybe.

In red, but, as usual, ignored.

“On CBS, the beginning of primetime was delayed by 67min due to a football overrun. 60 Minutes earned a 3.7, up from last week’s 1.4 adults 18-49 rating . The Good Wife scored a season-high 1.9, up a tenth from last week’s 1.8. However, because of late-running football, this number may change. The Mentalist earned a 2.0, down a tenth after last week’s 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.”

  • Max Vrany

CBS only overran 7 minutes. The Divisional game was scheduled until 8 ET/7 CT.

  • Fred

While the numbers for OUAT and Revenge were low, the quality of the eps were high.
OUAT kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire episode.
    REVENGE was fantastic as well.

  • OnceFan

To even have the nerve to compare this week’s Scandal numbers which basically had NO competition at all with OUAT who did the same but against the GG’s with a 5.0 share is INSANE! ONCE did very well and there’s no denying about it. The ratings will surely go up next week again.

  • Hubert R. Wentland

I don’t know if I recall correctly, but Im pretty sure Housewives hit 1.6 against GG last year, so that 2.0 isn’t the Apocalypse for Revenge. its almost good rating all things considered.

  • Ultima

    @Bill Gorman
In red, but, as usual, ignored.

You should put the warning/disclaimer in regular black text and red/italics/bold everything else! ;)

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Rebecca

Didn’t watch the Globes, watched OUAT & Downton Abbey, but did see Adele won on-line this morning (but I wish they would credit her partner as well as I know that is what she would want). MORE ON EDGE ABOUT THE OSCAR WIN! But still pleased as punch she won the GG.

    GO ADELE (and Paul Epsworth)!

  • Josh

Revenge will be adjusted up. Last nights episode was impeccable so many twists and turns and just when we thought Nolan had found a true friend/lover come to find out she’s a back stabber too. This show just keeps getting better and better, can’t wait to see it paired with Red Widow which looks like a great show too.

  • ShiftyBea

Revenge will be fine, it’ll get a season three. I’m not worried about that.

What irks me, somewhat, is the ‘rivalry’ between it and Scandal. They are not really similar. If it was Revenge and Deception, then it’d be more understandable but this petty trash-talk from both sides is very strange.

  • Winning C.

This is the start of huge special events season on Sundays as its going to be a struggle for competing networks to do well on this night. As you see with the Golden Globes that was the case.

CBS really needs to start taking advantage of these huge football numbers. If I was a network programmer I would be using these overrun playoff games to boost shows during the week I would put them on a special night to get a bigger boost. FOX and CBS puts the same old tired ratings losers behind the biggest lead-in on all of television, that’s really a shame.

Revenge definitely needs to move away from Sundays, if its not broken don’t fix comes into play here pretty large. Apt. 23 and HE needs to just retire already, I have no idea why ABC is trying so hard to get an audience for them.

  • Petar Ivanov

No abc press release yet? Disappointing. Usually their press release are the most funniest from all.

  • Steph

Revenge!!!! No! It’s been getting so much better too. Gotta have faith it will start to tick back up.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Ultima

A-Hem! Seems like reading the read print is for old eyes only!

  • OnceFan

The fact that ONCE is ABC’s third most successful show right now along with MF and GA is truly remarkable, especially because its main genre is fantasy and those generally don’t do as well as soaps/procedurals. It would just need some more awards exposure and ratings would even blow up more. Many people have said since the beginning this show would fail, but they’ve been proven wrong and they will be week after week after week for the next 5 years.

  • frodo

By the way last year Desperate Housewives had a 2.7 and did much much better than Revenge.

ABC: Desperate Housewives (7.8 million, 2.7)

    That is really troubling.

  • s0303

pretty sad so many people do exactly what max wants them to do…respond…ignore him and he’ll eventually go away…

  • Bob

I love Revenge but watched the Golden Globes last night. I NEVER understood why ABC has orignal airing of shows like Desperate Housewives and Revenge on during Golden Globe night. I mean they only need 22 or 24 weeks to air out of the year. I never understood their logic on this. They clearly don’t mind a lower rating on this particular Sunday. I am soooo glad that Revenge received a 2.0. I was worried it would be a 1.6 or something. The “war” between Scandal and Revenge is ridiculous!!!

  • frodo

There is no war between Revenge and Scandal, there is Max who is bi polar.

  • PMR

Max needs a life. Between Football overrun and awards shows. Revenge has a much higher ladder to climb than Scandal or most other shows. It is a great show and I knew the ratings would drop because of the special programming and the removal of 666 Park Avenue. Burning off two failed comedies is stupid for that time slot.

  • Match

You know all this Revenge vs Scandal thing is very banal.

First of all Revenge is mush better then Scandal.

Second the only reason Scandal got a second season was because of Shandra and Revenge because of solid ratings.

Next Revenge has much stronger competition then Scandal. The Walking Dead, Downton Abbey, the stupid housewives, and even football. But Scandal has no serious competition, hope that with the return of Suits things change.

And finally the thing we all know that if Revenge staid at Wednesday’s at 10 it would have had better ratings and it would have been ABC’s best 10pm show.
