^ Got it. Thanks!
What a fantastic night for FOX.
“The Simpsons” got decent ratings even with the horrible lead-in. “Bob’s Burgers” only lost a single tenth, while both “Family Guy” and “American Dad!” beat all scripted competition.
However, FOX has got to do something with “The Cleveland Show”. Things just can’t go on like this. My guess is it will be canceled, especially considering that FOX already ordered episodes for a new animation called “Murder Police”.
NBC Golden Globe red carpet live was 2.5 adults 18-49 in fast nationals now in the final ratings was down to 1.3,what happened?
To the TV By the Numbers guys: if you think or know your ratings are going to be delayed, can you post a notice? I keep coming back to the site and the Monday ratings still haven’t been posted but they have been available on the other sites for almost 2 hours. I used to come to your site more often but lately you haven’t been able to get the ratings posted in a timely fashion.
@George,
The problem is on your end. The Monday ratings have been up for quite a while.
Thanks, @Holly. Not sure if it’s me or not, but the home page: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/ is still listing in the top spot the Sunday finals and the preliminary broadcast page http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/category/overnight-tv-ratings/tv-ratings-nielsen-overnight-tv-show-ratings/ is also listing Sunday numbers. Strange – my browser normally does’t cache data, though I see when I use a different browser, the Monday story is there. Thanks!
Go The Mentalist!! That’s what I call steady! And the 27/1 episode will probably be even higher rated with Red John!!
ABC is double-pumping Happy Endings and Apartment 23 right now on Sundays and Tuesdays because it gave both shows a full 22 episode season order, but will not have a spot on the schedule after mid March when DWTS returns. So either these comedies air twice a week right now, or end their seasons prematurely with extra episodes unaired. Happy Endings produced its fifteenth episode just before Christmas, so it should be able to film its remaining seven by early March, in time for a season finale in mid March.
@ phillipM yes TM gets higher ratings than TGW but to change places with a show because of a two tenths of a point difference wont help. TM isnt going to go from a 2.1 to a 3.0 just because it moved up an hour. TM coming back next season has nothing to do with TGW. it has to do with money as CBS doesn’t own it and its in repeats.
Can someone please tell me why ABC didn’t air the last 4 episodes of 666? I’m sure they’d do better (not a whole lot…but a few points upward) than HE and APT23. Or what’s so hard about airing them on Saturday or during where a show is going to be a repeat? And…why is Last Resort getting to air all their episodes when that got cancelled too….
The Mentalist has been showing signs of life lately. If CBS renews Good Wife but cancels this, Imma be pissed.
@Spencer
They are airing the last 4 episodes of 666 this summer.
Well I’m glad TGW didn’t drop. However I really hope Revenge goes back up. Although I have to admit I’m having a really hard time keeping interest in this season. But I’m definitely not going to stop watching.
once has a very loyal audience
Ok, if theres is even a question whether or not to renew ‘good wife’ or ‘mentalist’, that’s ridiculous!! Getting consistently better ratings at a 10 show over a 9 show, is impressive! I smell a ‘mentalist’ rising to ‘likely to be renewed’ soon…??
Happy Endings should have already been cancelled in my opinion.
In my opinion, The Mentalist just earned itself another season. CBS needs this show for Friday.
Friday
8pm The Mentalist
9pm CSI:NY(Fall) 16 eps/The Good Wife(Spring)13 eps-final season for both
10pm Blue Bloods
I feel The Cleveland Show should come back for one more season. It can have a shorter season. 13 episodes would be fine. And that would make sure that all scripts written/produce were used. That would also be better for syndication purposes. Then the new cartoon Murder Police could make its debut.
@ Bookworm & Mary 1…ABC is clearly burning off episodes of “Happy Endings” and “B” before they cancel them. These ratings are atrocious, and neither show will be back on ABC next year. “B” is just too nasty most of the time to be funny. I had high hopes for it when it started, but it quickly lost its charm. I still like “HE” as a quirky, adult version of “Friends,” but once again, ABC ruined it by moving it around. If they can’t leave their Wednesday night comedies alone, then ABC should just stop ordering new ones. They don’t have room on their schedule! Only a switch to cable a-la “Cougar Town” can save “Happy Endings” now, unfortunately!
@DW: I don’t advocate for TM and TGW to switch timeslots, although it would certainly make sense from a ratings perspective. I’m quite indifferent about that. What you don’t seem to recognize is that consistently gaining both viewers and A18-49 is kind of a big deal for a 10:00 PM show. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it exemplifies TM’s strength. It simply exemplifies how poor TGW’s ratings are.
CBS protecting TGW doesn’t have to do with money at all, at least not yet. It’s about critical acclaim and, more importantly, HOPING for money in the future due to a possible syndication deal. It’s just a gamble at this point. If there was no syndication deal for TGW sooner rather than later, then it would simply be an expensive gamble.
