    @usnavy,
    Let it snow, let it snow!

    As you say so well “Bite Me.”

    My husband has been trying to call to order a part for a gun I didn’t know he had. The phone lines have been busy for hours. This is TN & that’s all people are talking about in the stores … even ou bug man who just sprayed talked non stop guns.

    Getting back to this :

    Fed Can’t Produce The Gold Germany Wants Back & It Will Take The Fed Seven Years To Deliver 300 Tons Of German Gold

    Does any one think rehypothecation could be involved ?

    —————–

    Stimulus project wastes about $1B in TN

    On what? Project 21, smart grids / smart meters . Experts argue that the federal government wastes money on smart grid initiatives that will soon turn obsolete and not integrate well with future technology . Public utility officials are not receiving any returns on their stimulus-backed investments. According to research, smart meter networks across the country are still not successfully managing electricity, nor are they successfully managing supply and demand.

    Mark2, I posted a link from marketing executives that stated the most important demo is no longer the 18 – 35 group. With the aging of the U.S. and the current economy. The most important group is the baby boomers which is the 49 – 65 group. This group has the money and is doing the most spending. So, your numbers mean nothing today. Marketing people are looking more at the older group. The Top 100 on this site only looks at 18-35, it’s not the main group anymore.

    I wonder how good Hannity’s ratings would be without Billo’s huge lead-in audience.

    @Bobby

    Well, I have to give you credit for at least admitting that Chicago doesn’t ban handguns like 99% of Republicans believe. All it takes is 72 hours to own a gun in Chicago.

    I laugh when I hear Conservatives say that Illinois has the most restrictive gun laws. I love slapping them with facts that blow their mind or links that show them how wrong they are by making that erroneous statement.
    _____________________________________________________
    Mark you really need to check ALL the facts before you spout off! Chicago had a ban on handgus for ex offenders and it was struck down by the supreme court so they now have rewritten the law but it is still a ban on handguns! It is one of the toughest in the country but it is also NOT working proving that the bad guys will ALWAYS get guns so leave the good guys alone!

    Mayor Rahm Emanuel rewrote a section of the ordinance, permanently banning anyone with a violent felony conviction from firearm ownership, and placing a five-year ban on gun purchases for anyone convicted of a violent misdemeanor, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

    Wednesday’s vote to narrow the ban marks the latest in a long series of rewrites to Chicago’s gun control policy: in 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the city’s 28-year-old handgun ban, and City Council has been facing frequent legal challenges to its restrictions since then.

    The revision was a necessary change following a judge’s ruling last month that nonviolent ex-offenders could not be barred from obtaining a firearm owner’s identification card and purchasing guns.

    I would guess about the same as it is because there is a LOSS of viewers from Bill O to Hannity. Hannity will be followed by his radio crowd and he has his tv crowd also. IMO

    20% less warming is still colder..ie equals cooling. Technically you have to wait to see the cooling, but its a projected cooling. Just as technically projected warming is not actual warming until it happens.

    Shocking. It’s gotten to the point where I read your posts, and the Ratboy (Ron White) mantra “You can’t fix stupid” is playing in my head, but God help me, I’m gonna give one last try to explaining this concept to you:

    It’s January, 2013. The MET office projects that February will have a temperature anomaly that’s 0.6 above the 1971 – 2000 average.

    Running their newer, more accurate (based on runs plotted against historical data) model, HADGEM3, after 30,000 runs it comes to a projection that’s 20% lower, 0.48 above the 1971 – 2000 average.

    Has February cooled by 20%? NO! February hasn’t cooled, it hasn’t warmed, it hasn’t DONE anything, because it’s not February, and a data plot point can’t ‘cool’ or ‘warm’ relative to itself. February 2013 can’t be cooler or warmer than February 2013.

    To say whether February warmed or cooled, it must be compared to some sort of previous point. If the anomaly for January is >0.48, February is cooler, if it’s <0.48, February is warmer.

    The MET Office decadal for 2013 – 2017 is projected to be higher than the 20th century, higher than the 2000 – 2010 average, and only higher than the five year 2008 – 2012 average. Not higher to a statistically significant degree, just higher. Warmer. What does that five-year trend mean, in the overall scheme of AGW? Not much at all, but that doesn't mean you get to be factually inaccurate.

    Get it?
    _________________

    Pot kettle again? How can records that haven’t happen be records?

    Failed reading comprehension again? Here’s what I said:
    “The revised projection is that 2013 will be around…”
    Note the future progressive tense, ‘will be.’ Not “this has happened,” but “this is what the projections says will happen.”

    What is so soul-crushingly depressing about this is that, at this point, it’s not even an argument about whether warming happened, whether it’s significant, what forcings are at work, what to do, whether the data is accurate.

    For the purposes of the argument we’ve been having, we don’t even have to accept the MET Office as a reliable source; the argument is, literally, me trying to explain 6th grade level graph reading and 3rd grade level reading comprehension to a grown man, and I’m failing.

    I don’t know if it’s because you’re just that stupid, or I’m just that bad at communicating, but either way, it’s really just tedious, depressing parody at this point. Enough. Godspeed, Hillbilly.

    Hannity definitely has a built in audience, but doesn’t he tend to do a little worse when O’Reilly is on vacation? Even for an established program like Hannity, having a ratings juggernaut like O’Reilly probably has some tent-pole benefit. For example, if someone sees O’Reilly isn’t in, and decides to watch broadcast prime time instead, they might just stay on that for the rest of the night.

  • cathy

    Sam, That was funny. You do realize that wasn’t a real ad right? You do realize that people going to gun shows are buying assault rifles. You do realize there are more democrats in the gun show lines then republicans? Do a little resource, Sam. Then you won’t look so uninformed.

    @Bsotgnw, Nice link. I had been the research myself. And I posted weeks ago that crime had dropped. We can say crime in the urban pockets because those areas are mostly black and you can’t blame them for anything. I believe the problem in the urban area is that sadly these young men believe that they are going to die by the time they are 35, so they live BIG now. As they see it, if you only have 35 years to live why spend 17 of those years in school? Why get a job in a company where you have to give them 40 hours a week? When there is so much more money to be made selling drugs, selling stolen goods, and stealing for others.

    beached, anyone who starts an argument with the statement, “Anyone with intelligence” is an uninformed lazy fool trying to push their beliefs as facts. Plus, you don’t look to smart when you misspell intelligence. There are two division of the NRA. The NRA-ILA which is the lobbying group. And the NRA that has gun clubs, gun safety classes, competitive shooting events and more. The NRA is a non-profit group by federal law (and their books are looked at closely every year.) membership money into the NRA can not be used by the NRA-ILA which is the lobbying group. Your statement is unfunded and untrue. If you have not been to an NRA club then stop claiming you know what the group is all about.
    The NRA-ILA gets all of its funding through non tax deductible donations. It is not the same as the membership money given to the NRA. Most members of the NRA do not donate to the NRA-ILA.

    @Mark2, Only in your dreams is Stewart bigger in the political world than O’Reilly. I can name at least a hundred people right now that watch Stewart for the comedy. Do you have a link to prove your statement the people turn Stewart on for news?

    This is what I find amusing about his constant mantra and the others on the left agreeing with him. They makes these insane claims but then they turn around and talk about somebody like Maddow as if they were a premeir journalist and give the viewers the news as it is and only as it is when in fact the show is more biased than OReilly could ever be and is the farthest thing from news!
    That is the amusing part but here is the sad part. Those same loons turn to guys like Maher, Stewart, and the likes for political commentary! That is like people basing their views on the speakings of Milton Berle, Bob Hope, George Carlin or Carol Burnett!!!

    Sam I have heard on TV what Al Jezerra says in English and what is said in Arabic is quite the opposite. They hate America and everything we stand for. A man showed on his show what they said and it is hateful and they want to kill all Jews and Americans. We are a stupid people to believe what they say in English. Wish more people could understand Arabic and let more people know what they really think.

  • cathy

    Thanks for the music 1966. I hate seeing the mom and pop’s die but there is hope for them. They need to get back to their roots. They need the value added service they once gave. The lady who helped you find the outfit that made you look your best. She’d chat with you and make you feel important. You could count on these shops to carry well make clothing and have great tasting food and make you feel welcome.

    The service industry sucks in the U.S. right now. Sales people make you feel like you are bothering them when you ask for help. Wait staff rolls their eyes when you ask for water or a refill on a free item. My daughter has a twenty minute video of everything she and her three friends did in Home depot trying to get someone to help them.
    I’ve walked up to the service desk at numerous stores and said, “I need size 36 x 36 jeans. I’ll buy every pair you have, just help me find them.” What I get is pointed to the jean area. When I ask, “Can you get someone to help me look?” They roll their eyes and tell me they’ll call someone. But the person never shows up. I get more service shopping online. Most sites have a popup that asks if you need help.

  • usa8888

    Why is Cathy continually pushing the absurd line of the NRA whose management (the stone and old white haired guy) is far right fringe and loony. All the polls show that a majority of American people and NRA members favor much tighter regs on mass murder weapons but the uneducated gullible right wing continues to push water uphill alleging they may need mass murder weapons to overthrow the US government. How absurd!!!

  • usnretiredx2

    @USA8888

    Keep in mind,

    A military assault weapon, you pull the trigger once and it goes bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,

    Any gun that can be legally bought in the US you pull the trigger once and it goes bang.
