@ All the polls show that a majority of American people and NRA members favor much tighter regs on mass murder weapons
Why dont you list ALL the polls that show this? Why dont you explain what you mean by “much tighter regs” (there is a poll that most agree with background checks)? And why dont you give us the definition of “mass murder weapons”? Oh yea, and while you are at it, how about that proof that the NRA is discounting memberships?
Ed Schultz claims his ratings are better than Fox News. ????

Ratboy–I don’t have to prove to you the sun rises, do I?
Nooooo, when you state that your comment is FACT then you have to prove it when challanged. That is what we do in the big boy world where the grown ups are.
@USA8888
Here is the NRA web site. Where is this discount you are talking about. I went to the horse’s mouth so to speak. Not. Fox. No discount.
Once again you can not back yourself up just like the trash you posted about NRA member want tighter controls.
I guess you are a believer that what ever is said on the internet is true just like that women on that insurance commercial.

As an officer in the eighties, I saw it firsthand the problems we began to experience when budget cuts closed may mental institutions. We are feeling the fallout from that. Any gun control restrictions passed now will absolutely no good. We all have to accept that we will proctect ourselves.
As an aside to the gun debate, I’ve been really bothered by the way the media (particularly CNN) is choosing to frame the various sides of the debate. They’re consciously giving airtime to people that they know do not represent your average gun owner, and interviewing fringe nuts that they know will create good television, without any concern about the integrity of the discussion.
As an example, imagine if the topic were medical marijuana, and all the people they interviewed for the pro-legalization stance were white guys with dreadlocks, and other stereotypical stoner types. I’m not a ‘gun enthusiast,’ but this is really shoddy journalism.

USNretired–you should have been an admiral and you would understand. It’s the killing power
earth to idiot! earth to idiot! I could kill a person with a 22 caliber or a 44 mag. It does not have to be a military weapon. In fact a high % of the killings in Chicago and large cities are by smaller caliber hand guns.
Now to take it a step farther, if the bad guy wants to do a suprise attack it would be better to use smaller hand guns than a big assult rifle because he/she could conceal many hand guns and go virtully unnoticed and oppose to trying to sneek in with one or multiple rifles. Therefore getting the small guns out of the hands of the bad guys would have a greater impact overall.
BUT…….it has been proven in Chicago for instance that no matter what it aint gonna happen!!!!!
@USA8888
Do not.tell me about killing power. The only think you ever killed is maybe a spider and I bet you had to call your mother. I have used a 50 cal to a 9 mm. They all kill, you can get a ar15 in a 22 too and it can kill just the same.
You have not a clue at all.
Think = thing
Cathy is only telling the truth about the NRA and the NRA-ILA. I’m sorry that the TRUTH does not line up with what liberals want to believe about a group of people.
I’m a little upset. Not one liberal has answered my question. If you found yourself inside your home and a riot was occurring outside your home what type of gun would you want to defend yourself and your family? Would ten shots be enough? Be truthful. (The U.S. averages 2 riots are year.)
Also, if guns are not needed, why do all Hollywood movies show the lead actor going from a gun when civil unrest breaks out?
Side note: I need to put on some depends before I read anymore of USA8888 posts. USA8888 is omniscient.
Retired Cop wrote: “Ed Schultz claims his ratings are better than Fox News. ????”
He must have been referring to the cable news program rankers for 2012, in which his show averaged more viewers than ‘Red Eye’.
@Matthew, I agree. Everything is about ratings or to prove a newscasters point of view. It’s sad but the standard media doesn’t give us the real story.
@Ratboy,
Where do you want to grab that tea. Needs to be around here, I don’t do snow.
Which reminds me of something.
The company my father works for in Afghanistan also handles Antarctica, he is trying to get down there too. Keep in mind he is going to turn 78 in June. He was trying to talk me into going down with him. Told him I have already been down there three time, I don’t do snow, ice, or cold. It is over rated.
Hey Rat–don’t know whether you watch ABC News, CNN, or NBC–all have done polls recently. I haven’t checked Nate Silver lately but he was exactly right on the election. The jist is that the NRA is on the wrong side again and it’s because they are run by a couple of right wing bozos. The NRA is inherently a good organization but has been hijacked by right wing extremists….

I will be right down, slice a lemon but I dont do sugar!
I think it would be a great thing for you to do for your father. What better than you and him walking side by side in the freezing cold with your noses running and your lungs freezing a little more with each breath1 You could have your shorts and tank top on under your 5 or 6 layers of clothes to remind you of home and when you drop like a rock your 78 year old father can drag your sorry a$$ to a warm spot!

Hey Rat–don’t know whether you watch ABC News, CNN, or NBC–all have done polls recently
Post em! Come on! Post the polls that the unbiased CNN and NBC and ABC have done. Really just post the one or any of them that refer to most NRA members agreeing. Come on! Put on the big boy pants and prove that you are not full of crap!
While you are at it why dont you give us more true data on killing power too!!
Hey Rat and Cathy–and to all others who feel regular guns are not enough to stop a burglar should one come knocking at your door. We will order you a gross of stinger missles so you are protected. Not sure if this would fall into your 2nd Amendment rights–I’ll call Jefferson and ask him…..
Hey Rat–you may remember that Rasmussen, the pollster Fox uses routinely, had a flawed sampling methodolgy, contributing to the fact all his polls during the election were wrong. Rat–you need to broaden your horizons beyond Fox so you know what’s REALLY happening……..
