Sam, but they look so scary.
@ Hoppy,
“I said nothing about tyranny. I simply responded to your moronic post about jet fighters and nuclear weapons being used on the American public”
It was more of rhetoric question in response of the “tyranny” argument the righties claim as a reason for gun ownership in this country. In Libya, the rebels had access to guns but regardless they were about to be wiped out by Ghaddafi’s jets if it wasn’t for foreign intervention.
“I don’t know what makes you so certain that the troops would support a tyrannical government if one should arise”
So why owning a gun in the first place ??
Here’s a well said piece from Jon Stewart :
“But now I get it. Now I see what is happening. So this is what it is, their paranoid fear of a possible dystopic future prevents us from addressing our actual dystopic present. We can’t even begin to address 30,000 gun deaths that are actually in reality happening in this country every year because a few of us must remain vigilant against the rise of imaginary Hit***.”
ninja and bobby-first , I suggest you get a good college education. Then, you will know that controlling the debt is the LAST thing you do when you are in a deep recession or depression. When the economy is humming, then you control the debt. The tunbling bullet thing is all over you-tube–I gave you the source a couple weeks ago. If you have been in the service, you know.
Let’s take the rights away from law bidding citizens on the chance they may become guilty of breaking the law. They can tally up the number of lives they saved like they tally up the jobs they saved by passing the stimulus package.
The old backward-thinking men heading the NRA should resign and quick. Right wingers, see what you can do …..
Mark2,
Virtually every state has a lower homicide rate, but when the assault ban was passed, there were about 690 murders committed per year by rifles, including what the left has deemed to be “assault rifles”. One other thing happened. 26 states passed or strengthened CCW laws. Homicides have dropped by 11,000 since 1992, two years before the “Brady Assault Weapons Ban”. In 2011, 323 murders were committed by rifles. 11 years without the ban, 10 years with it. 2011 is one of those years WITHOUT the ban. It wasn’t the ban. It was the increase in CCW states. Only one state has zero CCW and that is Illinois. 35 to 40 states have shall issue, meaning, they shall issue a CHL on the passage of a background check and upon the completion of training. There is already a ban on real assault weapons called class 3 weapons, of which AR15s are not. You know why? They aren’t fully automatic. They are not militarized weapons.
Ninja–I have several good universities that you can enroll in , depending on your IQ…..
Sam,
You need to study a little history, then come back when you’re much better informed. It is not the responsibility of others to answer to you.
The first thing you always do, and the first reason to raise taxes in the Constitution is to, Pay the debt, not to pay just the interest on the debt, but to PAY THE DEBT. Not to reduce the deficits, but to PAY THE DEBT. Going into more debt is not providing for the General Welfare of the United States.
US,
Give me a break. I ask you an honest question and I get a condescending talking point answer. I will try it one more time in a cordial way – at what point would the debt begin to alarm you? If you reply that you are never worried about the debt that is at least an answer.
Pundit and all right wing fringe–Ronald Reagan supported the assault under Clinton…….the NRA old men in management should RESIGN…..they are hurting the country…..
The debt is not a concern if the economy is in bad recession or depression and job creation is weak. Inflation will be minimal and is of secondary conern at this point. When the economy is humming and job creation is acceptable (after stimulation of the economy), you address debt and watch your spending. That’s it in a nutshell….
Reagan supported the assault weapons ban under Clinton….
Us, fair enough
Usa888………………….democrats backed the KKK. Because Reagan supported a gun ban, we should fall in line?
ninja–democrats did not back the KKK and the sky isn’t falling…
Democrats like Robert Byrd…founded the KKK….YOU all should really study up about the KKK and it’s early beginnings.

For those unfamiliar with the Democratic Party and it’s history against civil rights….
