I hope Modern Family and The Middle fall in the fall.

  • Mi

I’m glad both Arrow and SPN didn’t get adjusted down. The CW have one night working for them and next year with The Originals, a show that could actually keep TVD’s lead-in, they’ll have two.

    @Tessa

    Yes my feelings exactly!

  • bluejays

I hate AI. With a passion, but seriously, how can deluded posters state that The Voice ‘beats’ Idol?????

The Voice hasn’t got above mid fours and Idol pulls a six in its premier? Idol clearly beats The Voice, hate it or not.

  • Lane

Idol isn’t doing bad at all but it won’t help Fox into second place I think its gonna be

    CBS – Obviously
    NBC – Surprisingly
    Fox
    ABC

  • GG

american idol will go further down and it will give me pleasure. Nicki and Mariah are obnoxious. I think even britney spears on xfactor was better, at least she acted classy.

  • Carl

@Ultima, I just meant Middle, Suburgatory, and CSI are all at 2.3 in the demo. I didn’t mean they were airing at the same time. I’m sorry, that didn’t make a lot of sense.

  • KikiBee

In two weeks when TBBT returns, watch the beast steamroll AI

  • KevinSW

NBC oddly….repeated well, especially Whitney/GWK outrating SVU and impressive repeat by Chicago Code as well, considering both CSI and Nashville were originals

  • david

Arrow and Super Natural did good ofor the C up against Idel. The ABC commedies did pretty good too.

  • CookyMonzta

Intriguing…I thought ‘Idol’ would surely be adjusted upward, to about 6.3 (18-49) and 18.3 million total viewers. When was the last time this show had virtually NO significant upward adjustment? And is this a harbinger of even more dire things to come?

  • Leondre

    @Danimals

    Why? They’re great.

  • Mayans

    @ bluejays

Nobody has said anything about The Voice beating Idol from the comments so far under this article. Why so deluded?

And do you really consider a 4.9 “mid fours”? One fact howver that we can draw from their ratings is that The Voice rises with each cycle while Idol goes down a notch.

  • Paulo PT

ABC comedies with low numbers! Not a good moving Suburgatory to 9:30pm, Neigbours is messing abc numbers.

  • kelly

idol numbers will be high during the live shows and the season finale will be in the 7.0 range imo

they need to focus less on the nicki/mariah feud though

  • fringewillget5seasons

Idol also has 10 seasons on the Voice. Let me tell you, the Voice won’t be rising by the time it would’ve hit S12 either. It won’t even last 10 seasons imo unless NBC really milks it long past its prime.

The more apt comparison is “lmao X-Factor is doing horribly compared to the Voice and ridiculously underperforming.” Glad Fox can no longer rely on Idol to singlehandedly get them ranked first especially with their garbage pilot pickups and terrible sitcom lineup. All Fox has now is shooting stars with no stamina and Bones.

  • MVProductions44

Honestly I’m just so happy that Nashville is finally get the ratings it deserves! She show is getting better and better and the show isn’t as slow as it was in the beginning; however it would be best fitted on Sundays after Revenge @ 10 p.m. Then ABC could burn off the rest of Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 on Wednesdays @ 10 and 10:30! Get it together ABC!

  • Mayans

@ kelly, keep in mind that last seasons finale was a 6.4 while the “top 2 performance” show the day before was a 4.4. So you might be a tad too optimistic, especially considering last seasons premiere was a 7.4.. TBBT ratings are at their very highest right now and could rise even more meaning more problems for Idol.

  • TVMAN

In season 10 the first ep was down but ratings went up during Live shows, unlike the voice, Idols best part of the show are the live rounds.

  • CookyMonzta

In Season 11 the first show was pretty low (for ‘Idol’), then it took a small drop, then leveled off. When it came down to the final 13, it took a slight bounce, then went downhill from there until the finale.
