My special forces Nephew arrived back home a few minutes ago YAHOOOOOOOOOO…safe and sound

  • Letmethink

Hey Rats, dd, come one down. Rats can smoke some food for us and dd we can work in the garden. There is no wind so it is very pleasant out already.

  • Raz

You might want to look up the definition of BS.

I did just that Red Bar, dang but you do take a pretty picture that sits next to that particular definition.

  • Letmethink

@Coffee–that is great news. Tell him your friends on the TV site thank him for his service.

  • Raz

Congrats Coffee, AIRBORNE! Glad one more green beanie is safe and sound.

  • Coffee Steve

Obama doesn’t deserve all the blame . Bush was a huge spender , as were other Presidents.

But it’s been on his watch for the past five years and they are still blaming Bush, but are now tossing in ‘other presidents.’

Saw my paystub for this week, IT’S 40 DOLLARS SHORTER THEN MY LAST CHECK IN DEC! And it’s all in federal taxes. The president is for the middle class, what a load of crap.

  • cathy

    Good morning Coffee and D.D.

    It’s zero here.
I’ve stopped going to restaurants with TVs. I can understand them being at sports bars and fast food places. But I don’t understand way they are in nice restaurants. I go out to enjoy both the food and conversion. If I wanted to watch TV as I eat, I’d get carry out and eat at home.

I don’t disagree that our government has been over spending for decades. When Obama ran in 2008 he even said spending was out of hand and he was going to cost back but he didn’t. Last year are debt become 105% of GDP. Yes, he inherited a problem, but that’s no excuse from him adding to it.

Here is a question at what tax percentage would you consider yourself nothing more then a slave to your government? We rightly condemned coal companies whose pay and store prices made it impossible for workers to improve their lives. We called it slave labor. At what point are you nothing but slaves supporting the spending of an out of control government?

  • cathy

Coffee, glad to here your nephew is safe.

I think when taxes are over half of what we make, that is slave labor. We are taxed to death on everything. It seems that the government sees what we make as theirs and they will let us keep what they see fit.

    @Rats
    Wind chills -15 or colder!
Just remember my freind, somehere, someone has it worse

    Yep,

The citizens of places like Verkhoyansk and Yakutsk (both in Russia) live very different lives from you or me, at least in the winter. Drivers in those cities often leave their cars idling outside in the parking lot for hours while they shop and run errands, and they’re familiar with the intricacies of reheating frozen axle grease with a blow torch.

The coldest temperature ever recorded was minus 128.6 degrees F in at the Russian research station in Vostok, Antarctica, on July 21, 1983. While none of these towns or cities gets that cold, some get frighteningly close to it

Rats, the listings didn’t make me feel any warmer. Iit was bad enough when I was In Alaska to find out schools weren’t closed until the temp was 50 below . I felt like a total wimp. Hi, Moncon !

    ———-

Grrrrr…. Let me think. I’d have a ball in your greenhouse on cooler days. I get my lonely shop lights set up up on the ping pong table under the house in March to start my seeds . If you are in the part of Texas that swelters in the summer , you can come here & putter. I’ve never seen a snake here , so, you won’t need to bring a gun.

  • Ratboy

Boy I guess I missed a really huge deal yesterday! The second coming and the saving of the world now that the king has been corinated. Reading all the left wing accounts i am supprised that he didnt speak in tounges and feed the masses with a fish and a loaf of bread. I also guess i misinterpeted some of his speech. I guess not cutting spending will save us all and more lousy investments into green energy will not only stop but reverse global warming. I am sure that Abe and Martin and JFK wiere all watching and commenting “if only he would have wrote our speeches!”

Wow is all I have to say! Run up the biggest debt in history, allow for a border agent to be murdered with no explination, let 4 Americans get killed and then lie about it for weeks after instructing others to lie too. All these and other things all part of the master plan to save us all and I missed it as he poke to the masses yeaterday.

I guess I wont be saved since I am not a beleiver………………..but I will PAY to save the ones that do!

  • Ratboy

    Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
    It is now ZERO!!!!!!!

Yes, we could have a great time. I still remember how beautiful Tennessee was when we were there 2 years ago. Can’t remember if you said you had been to Cheekwood? The boxwoods there are unbelievable. I keep planting boxwoods even though we are told they aren’t a good plant for this area. They are right–we get lots of winter burn on them. I really don’t understand that as it gets just as cold or colder where you live and they thrive. I would feel lost gardening without my gun–lol

    @dd Grrrrr…. Let me think

I could throw a brisket, maybe a turkey or two, some ribs, and a couple of pork shoulders in the smoker and we could have a party!

  • Ratboy

    P.S.
I could shoot the snakes with my mean evil gun and throw them on the grill!

  • Ratboy

Maybe he needs to tell Al Qieda, I think they missed the memo. And oh yea one more thing, economy turing around? Less people working since he took office and a debt that could swallow up any chance at recovery, as of the first of the year middle class pay checks are smaller………….I guess WE missed the memo on that one!

Obama says decade of war ending

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says that a decade of war is now ending and an economic recovery has begun

  • d.d.

    Rats,
    What about snake jerky ?

    —————

    Letmethink,
No, I’ve never been to Cheekwood , although , I do love Nashville . It’s warmer there than where I live @ 2200 feet. Boxwoods would not do well here. I see them now & then , but, they are scraggly looking.

Most serious gardeners around here go to the Biltmore . I lament that unless you have a sprinkling system, it is difficlt to grow lush gardens because of drought , & poor soil. I have to amend every year with mushroom compost & manure. I used to have great gardens when I lived in the Midwest. Now, they are just so-so. I no longer graph plot , & heights vary more than they should due to being arid, but, no matter what the conditions are, weeds still thrive.

    ——————

Well, I’m subjecting myself to learning about induction energy. It may make my head spin. Could be back later.

For all you right wingers who either have not gone to college or were asleep in class, the DEBT has NOTHING to do with recovery. In fact, you have to spend to get out of a bad recession or depression and when the economy is humming, you then cut backon spending. The spending argrument by the far right is about as ridiculous as the gun argument. Yesterday, right winger McConnell of Kentucky was telling his followers the government was coming to take their guns–that it was a 2nd Amendment thing. Of course, this is nonsense but maybe the uneducated on the right will believe him…..
Please tell the right wing bags in the HOUSE to stop obstructing Obama’s policies and let the economy recover…..
