Another good week for “Y & R” – liking what I have been seeing since the new regime assumed control of the show!!
amen bart.
All soaps up, this is good.
Good job B&B and Y&R.
B&B got nearer to 4 million viewers on Wednesday. I never thought I would see them that close again. Hopefully soon they will be back there.
nice to see all the shows up. Still under the belief that Days needs a change in the writing department though.
GOO GH!!! SOOO HAPPY that they are kicking the rest of ABCD’S BUTT!!!! The View only got a 0.8 in 18-49….GH got a 1.1 !!! GH rocks!
Very good for soaps especially Y&R and B&B!!!!!
Agree with you Bart!
GO GH and all the soaps. Hope the departures of the OLTL trio don’t hurt. I don’t think it will. They all have a reason to go and reasons to come back. Hopefully, they wrap up stories over on OLTL and come on back, at least Todd.
Love the CBS soaps. Y&R is really getting better. This is good news for the soap opera industry with all the soaps up.

WOW what a year so far for the soaps revival of 2013.
I echo the improvements made to Y&R, I noticed it over a month ago how the balance of the show had return. It’s improving greatly right now and becoming watchable again. I can’t wait to see how Y&R is a few months from now. The show is gaining good momentum as they will probably start getting some new viewers as GH long-time favorite Steve Burton joins the cast in another week.
B&B had a huge week also these were numbers they used to get like 5-6 years ago on a regular basis. As horrible as that triangle is it actually is a ratings recipe for Bell unfortunately.
DAYS being renewed is huge for that show as I was actually worried about this time but NBC gave it an early renewal and the numbers really improved this week. Next week might be even higher with the 12,000th episode’s huge cliffhanger. I think the return of Chloe has been good for the show and Kristen is driving it right now. Nick, Gabi, Will, and Sonny have done very well for younger actors. Sami’s love life is what holds this show back sometimes though.
Last but not least GH what a huge week for them, another day over 3 million viewers and everyday that week was over 2.7 million viewers. GH maintained its 1.1 in the demo. Even though GH is losing its OLTL actors temporarily, they have built a deep roster where they can survive with pretty much anyone on the show. That’s why getting back to the basics and having balance on the show makes a huge difference.
AMC and OLTL look like they’re ready to go for February as it’ll be interesting to see when they launch online. I still want to see what television network they’ll be on, if they go back to ABC we’ll find out about that in April at the latest.
Winning C.
Keep dreaming. AMC and OLTL will never be back on ABC. ABC is not going to remove The Chew or Katie to put AMC and OLTL in their place.
If you want to see AMC and OLTL on TV again, your best bet would be cable TV.
Also, Days technically hasn’t been renewed. When NBC renewed Days in 2010 through 2013, it had an option of extending Days until 2014. All NBC did was exercising this option. If NBC didn’t have this option, I’m not convinced Days would have made it past 2013.
Days is back to the slow story telling that got it in trouble before. Stop dragging the fans to death. Tell the story and get on with it. Maybe the writers should watch Y&R to get an idea.
Heather there was no need for all of that if you wanted to correct the guy you could’ve but you didn’t have to be super nasty about it either. I’m glad to see the optimism and celebration coming from fans as of late they deserve it after years of seeing the genre dead.
B/B is almost reliably 1 full point behind Y/R. I see them about to hit #1. Days is fantastic. My bf watches it and I never gave it the time of day but it really rocks.
Someone explain please: The OLTL characters have left GH? Is that to go back to OLTL for its new launch? Is that temporary or permanent? Which characters went to GH – I don’t watch. I can’t wait to see this next version of OLTL even if it is on-line. I really want both shows to just explode with viewers (so that they might later transition to a cable channel somewhere which would be a dream come true for me!)
I’m hoping for a FANTASTIC 2013 for soaps!!!!!!!
John, Starr, and Todd went to GH. They have to leave the show (temporarily at least) whether or not they go back to OLTL. Supposedly, ABC is trying to get PP to agree to use them to wrap up their stories on OLTL and then come back to ABC. The actors are under contract with ABC, not PP. They can choose to go back to OLTL or not. But, ABC has to stop using their characters for some period of time. It was speculated that ABC wants them to go help PP get OLTL off to a good start, then PP will let them leave their OLTL to go back to GH sooner than they have to per the agreements.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for the info. Where did you here about Todd, Starr and John leaving for a period of time? Hope they get to come back to GH.
Glad to see all soaps up…
Daytime confidential and soap opera network. Big stories on both sites about it.
