It certainly is true that some people here can dish it out but cannot take it. That said, it certainly is valid to express one’s opinions on various shows. Sharing our individual perspectives and opinions is what this forum is all about. We shouldn’t pretend to like something if we don’t. By all means, say what you like AND what you don’t like for sure.

For example, in my opinion, GH is mostly a bore and continues to disappoint. I’m glad to hear that Laura is returning as that can only help this dreary show. On the other hand, DOOL continues to please me with its quality acting and story writing. Days is on fire!

Just to add…I agree that people should be able to express their opinions, but some people on here tend to do more than that…they either 1) make people who hold alternate or opposing opinions out to be idiots, or 2) attempt to turn people around to their line of thinking. If you don’t like Y&R then by all means do not watch it. My only complaint is do you have to reply to every positive comment with a negative one or post the same old complaints over and over again? As a general rule – unless someone responds to my comment – I tend to make a comment and then move on other topics.

To comment on storyline for a moment, am I the only one who gets the feeling that Nick on “Days” is going to be at the center of a “Who Killed Nick?” storyline? He seems to be turning a lot of people against him (Will, Sami, Justin, Sonny, Chad, EJ, etc.) and had an odd reaction when Will asked him if he was crazy/insane. Also, what is his fixation with wanting to get married? Personally, I think Nick comes across as schizophrenic…one minute I like the character, but the next minute I cannot stand him.

“Days” does get some credit in my book for expanding the “gay storyline” to more than just who the gay person dates. Soap writers seem unable to come up with storylines for these characters that don’t focus on their love lives. Even ATWT, which got good reviews for its Luke/Noah storyline in its final years, had trouble writing for the two characters when they were apart from each other. The GH writers didn’t know what to do with Lucas (Bobbi Spencer’s son) when he came out, so they quickly kicked him off the canvas never to be seen again…after he and his boyfriend/lover broke up.

@Jay Well said! Kayla, for one, is like a recurring hemmoroid. We get it: you think Days is the greatest thing since Gone With the Wind and GH is like a b-movie to you. We’ve read it ad nauseum. Think of something new to post or refrain.

I have been enjoying Days more than I used to. I think the Will and Sonny
story is getting interesting. I do think that Nick is really REALLY creepy.

Gh keeps getting better and better. I hope that down the line that the Todd and John charactures can stay at GH. Expecially Todd. I have always like how Roger H played him.
Glad all the soaps are doing well.

I quit watching Days after the olympics. I’ve tried to watch about 4-5 times. It’s so slow and boring I just can’t get into it. I thought having Kristen back would help, but the pair her with BORING BRADY! GH is a must see tv. I can’t miss a show. It’s the best it’s been in years and the ratings show! Days was beating GH a year ago in ratings, but hasn’t since the Olympics!

Ok, two GH questions. Who is the mystery Q heir– Franco’s daughter? And, why didn’t Jimmy Lee get mentioned in the will?

Also, just heard Allison Barrington will be on GH soon. GH is on fire! I have no idea what they are doing with the vampire thing, but it sure does get buzz going and people wondering and talking about GH.

@jonboyelk Your post made my day! lol

  • Ralph Ford

I think there’s another boom era coming for the soaps coming up and GH is the leader like it was back in the peak period for the genre back in the 80s.

Speaking of GH, I think Britt’s character which is still a new character is already the best character on the show. Her scenes with Emma today were classics.

  • Ralph Ford

The game has changed right now Steve Burton is on what look like a whole new Y&R show these days. B&B has this Steffy gone preggers stuff.

Even though DAYS moves slowly I really like what they did with the younger actors scene on the show. You can only rely on the veterans for so long, you really have to start focusing on the youth.

@reality Glad I gave you a chuckle but that was really beneath me. I’m not a mean spirited person.

  • Kayla Rae

I get what you are saying about Nick, @JayTN….I too think that things are building in the storyline on Days which will end up featuring him “going off the deep end” and then being killed or he will attempt to kill someone else. He does seem to be schizo for sure…and a sociopath. I’m really enjoying the suspense of where all this is heading!
