I wonder where all the idol haters are hiding right now? The show is basically on par from last year’s year ago Thursday episode.

  • Match

I knew Grey’s would go up, it was a very good episode. :)

“Parks and Recreation was NBC’s highest comedy this week! Surely it will fall when Two and a Half Men returns, but that’s still impressive.”

    The Office?

To all fans don’t worry Grey’s Anatomy will be there till is profitable for abc. 3 main leads takes 300 000 $ per episode but Greys has good syndication deal and abc collapse this season so at least 2 or even 3 more seasons.

Having said that in my opinion one great show must stop when there isn’t more story to tell. In other words in ideal world when one show is out of new ideas must stop. Not until netwotks and producers and actors make money. I always give example with lost and friends. They stop in their primes before to be boring. But these theys is all about $ and episodes count, syndication, sales-DVD or internatinal and MONEY. Nobody think for true fans.

Greg, P&R got a 1.9 while The Office got a 2.1, so Office is highest rated NBC comedy

  • Petar Ivanov

    i mean days. sorry.

  • Greg

I don’t even consider The Office anymore since it’s ending, but you’re right. Let me make a correction then: “NBC’s highest comedy that is also being considered for a renewal”

  • Petar Ivanov

Eridapo, my friend, you shocked me……i mean who the hell is Alana De La Garza???

  • Serene

ABC is cashing in big time with Greys cuz of the 18-34 ratings they get. So if they can keep the actors it will stay on. It has a 2.5 rating in that demo and if i am not mistaken beats all other dramas in that demo. So advertisers love it. And this is where is POIs weak point Peter. They almost 1.0 point behind Greys in that demo so ABC scores big there.

Petar said something nice about Grey’s Anatomy. I may faint.

“I always give example with lost and friends.”

Lost definitely had no more story to tell. With Friends, I’m pretty sure the cast wanted out. I doubt NBC wanted to get rid of a show pulling 9s, 10s, and 11s. If ABC were in better shape Grey’s would definitely be endings next season.

So “Net hit show” TCD (and you know that’s what it will be called in future ads) has to air 3 times to get the same rating as TVD. lol

  • Jane

    “New hit show”.

I don’t see Elementary rising much before the Super bowl and even after it, there is not certain fact that it will go up. They were best to put POI after but that’s just me. Also Do no Harm doesn’t target the same audience as Scandal, I would Elementary would have to worry more about them and even then—it might not matter much. There are very few competitive nights at the 10pm slot. Though I think Wednesday might be more competitive with CSI, Chicago Fire and Nashville.

Also remember, Elementary was new all the times Scandal was hitting those highs so I don’t see them being shaken much by that lack of audience. Grey is the same, with or without POI, it does the same numbers. Not sure why people think it would make a difference.

Overall, I don’t see Scandal sinking the way most are on here. I mean I know some WISH it was but right now, I definitely see it settling in the 2.2-2.5 range and that will definitely make it a winner for ABC and up from the usual average of 2.0. The highs couldn’t keep coming every episode.

Also, ABC is showing a repeat of Scandal next week. The new episode comes on January 31st.

Grey like Idol is just plain getting old. There rating greatness is behind them. sometimes its better to go out with respect than milk these tired shows for 2 or 3 more years.

@Petar Ivanov “who the hell is Alana De La Garza???”

Was she the ADA on Law & Order who ended up in a plastic bag?

  • rob60990

ABC, thanks for the Private Practice promo during Grey’s. ;)

  • eridapo

She was ADA Connie Rubirosa in L&O, and she was set to reprise the role in L&O:LA.

    @Petar Ivanov..

She is one beautiful woman my friend… http://www.nbc.com/do-no-harm/about/bio/cast/alana-de-la-garza/685607

I agree POI weakest link is younger demo where ussualy serialized dramas like Greys, Revolution, Walking dead, ONCE are much stronger with less viewers. Lost on its prime was insane demo – viewers numbers. Greys years ago too. Last year New girl was almost insane demo-viewers too.
But that is true for all CBS procedurals. And may be even for shows with procedural structure in general. They get less buzz from serialized dramas. Hope adding hot actress like sarah shahi to best scripted drama will help with younger viewers. But in 18-49 demo wich is still #1 is growing and in other demo 24-54 is already a beast for drama.(i guess ION deam is to have PoI) Now must improve a litle bit only younger demo and continue to grow in main demo untill season 4. Proper advertising during Super bowl and grammys will help a lot. CBS must advertise heavy and much better their new hit dramas. What NBC do with revolution this season or abc with once upon a time last season or even now abc with their crazy scandal promos or even nashville is much better and heavy advertising. And smart. CBS are behind in this at least for internet where i can talk.(not sure how smart they advertise it on tv i download without ads) To be honest with CBS its easier to advertise serialezed drama. Its harder for procedural. LOST promos at the time were like blockbuster movies.

ps But you know this have and other side procedurals takes huge syndication deals because they rerun better. For example Greys reruns are around 0.7. ONCE or Revolution the same. All CBS procedurals rerun around 1.5. With tenth or two margin. Even Elementary already rerun on 1.4. But serialized dramas get big deals on internet where they are better. Its really interesting to talk about these topics with smart people.

But to be clear. Really don’t care how much abc make from Grey or CBS from PoI. Or WB will take from POI syndication. What i want is WB to sell POI into syndication as much as possible to good channel like USA, TNT or FX(i hear FOX can make two channels from FX like WB – TNT and TBS one for dramas one for sitcoms) so PoI to grow even more and to be lock for 6-7 seasons where i guess storyline will start to be boring. I will take zero from POI-CBS ads or POI-WB syndication money. So don’t care.

@ eridapo “She was ADA Connie Rubirosa in L&O, and she was set to reprise the role in L&O:LA.”

Oh, right; I was thinking of Annie Parisse.

TCD repeat went down to a .4. I wonder if the repeats will really help the show on Monday.
