NBC should make some simple switches here in February with their comedies. Put Whitney and Guys with Kids on Tuesdays with Off Their Rockers that way Smash has better lead-in support. On Wednesdays at 8p they can repeat SVU or Chicago Fire or add a Dateline program there. I would actually put Do No Harm here.
On Thursdays move Go On there with P&R and just cancel The New Normal, it really doesn’t fit anywhere with anything or just cancel 1600 Penn and switch with TNN.
I love 1600 Penn I can’t believe it’s doing so bad. I think it’s NBC’s second best comedy right now (Parks and Rec is the best).
I don’t think it matters which order NBC put their comedies – they’re still all going to do horribly, and I expect to see an hour of comedy gone from the schedule in 2013/14.
I can see CW getting third for the 8-8:30 half-hour a few more times this season. ABC’s aspirations for the 8-9pm hour should probably not stretch beyond “beat Vampire Diaries as cheaply as possible”, or in other words, “let’s try and find something compatible to timeshare with Wipeout”. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t pair with Grey’s – that show can still get a 3.0 with no lead-in support whatsoever.
@HalCapone, you may want to rethink your ideas about network strategy in light of the fact that all CBS scripted shows are watched by more women than men.(at least they were the last time I checked)
“Scandal” is really doing a great job and ratings should have been higher. The story lines are very mature and captivating. Hope ABC keeps it going so it can get even better.
YAY for Scandal!!!!!!!!
ABC’s excellent Last Resort
There’s way too much unintended comedy right there.
I wish they would put The Carrie Diaries on after the vampire diaries. Or atleast anywhere but before 90210. It’s unfair for a brand new show to have to go 1st on the night and have it paired with one of the lowest rated shows on television. I don’t feel like people are giving this show and chance. So they deserve to have a strong lead in like the Vampire Diaries or some other show.
I would also like to see the dvr ratings for The Carrie Diaries because Monday night is notorious for being the most dvr-ed night of the week.
