Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for CBS (NFL Football and Hawaii Five-0) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

On CBS, NFL Football: Ravens at Patriots scored a preliminary 14.6 adults 18-49 rating from 7-10PM. Update: A special episode of Hawaii Five-0 earned a Time-Zone Adjusted Fast National 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. This number is unlikely to change significantly in the finals. Check the finals, which probably will not be available until Wednesday this week due to the MLK holiday, for accurate football numbers.

On ABC, America's Funniest Home Videos garnered a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating down 7% from last week's 1.4. Once Upon A Time earned a season low 2.4, down 14% from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic.  Revenge scored a season low 1.7 among adults 18-49 down 15% from last week’s 2.0.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Okay, I love Revenge but even I have to admit that Season 2 has been a mess..

    Instead of adding useless character like Aiden/(Insert all of the Initiative members HERE), they should have focused on developing Amanda’s relationship with her sister Charlotte and Daniel. They should have kept it simple and I wish that Amanda could have actually revenged her father’s death by punishing Conrad/Victoria somehow…

    I wish Season 2 was as good as Season 1 but it’s just not..

  • GG

    Dead at Max being ready to write an essay on Revenge’s ratings.

    Fyi retard: Once Upon a Time which averages 3++ demos is down to 2.4….the demo that ur beloved Scandal is able to average lol. It is because of football, not an excuse.

  • Ryan

    I have to agree that Revenge Season 2 has been a major let down. Half of what’s going on right now I could careless about. Really hope they return to form soon.

  • Bookworm

    @GG
    OUAT is a 8pm show and if I’m correct, that time slot usually sees a higher demo along with the 9pm slot (9pm probably being one of the better ones everyday) but 10pm is not a big demo hour. Most shows are averaging around a 2.0, with other ABC shows going below that. So yeah, no one compares OUAT with Scandal.

    I don’t even compare Revenge with Scandal much but the excuses from time change to competition is absolutely hilarious for a show that had a season two premiere of a 3.0 less than 12 episodes ago. Revenge has been dropping steadily since then and hasn’t seen a 2.6 for over 2 months now. It was living with a 2.4 but dipped to a 2.2 and eventually a 2.0 and now a 1.7. Give excuses for the competition but fans have been complaining about quality for some time and for a show that premiere with over 9 million viewers, they have lost, on average, about 3 million. That number would be about 4 if you look at this week’s numbers (I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and look at last week’s).

    Also, it is tacky to call someone a retard when your show just sunk to a new series low and that said person has been calling it for a over a month now.

  • Rob R

    ABC cant run away and hide from the Golden Globes, the AFC Championship, and the Grammys. However, they could be a little bit smarter and air Revenge next week, when there is no special event, instead of this week. That would avoid at least one of the three big events.

  • ron

    the problem with rebvenge is that season two is too complicated the gave us the iniciative thing and the aiden thing and they focused on that instead the real plot that gave us in season one, revenge is stilla great show they just need to start closing things (i really hope aiden dies in the boat) and keep it up!

  • jen

    I love Revenge a lot, but season 2 has been a disappointment and the ratings are terrible disregard of any excuses.
    Hope ABC find some solutions for it soon.

  • Brian

    NBC would have been better off airing Off Their Rockers for two hours…or Deception.

  • Justin121

    CW Tue@9 and ABC Wed @10 were the most-cited death slots on this site,

    in addition to ABC Thu@8.

    Recently, NBC Thu@10.

    ABC Sun@10 has become the newest death slot.

  • Erik

    Revenge is off til after the Superbowl now. Should have started the hiatus earlier.

  • Jerry Styles

    ABC its simple you start your season on Sundays in August and stop repeating episodes during unnecessary Sundays in November and December.

    With that being said NFL is KING!

  • Jerry Styles

    The worst move of the season was made by ABC for Revenge to Sundays at 9p.

    The best move of the season was made by NBC for Chicago Fire behind SVU on Wednesdays at 10p.

  • Ultima

    @Justin121
    They gave Grey’s Anatomy an 8-week hiatus last year and it returned to a multi-year high.

    5 January 2012 – 4.5 rating

    31 March 2011 – 4.9 rating

    Not sure how you define “multi-year high,” but the rest of us just call it “season high.”

    @ Lexi

    Revenge was never on on Thursday last season it was on Wednesdays at 10pm which now hosts Nashville, which in my opinion is another great show. I think Revenge will do well if they pair it with a good show, Red Widow or Zero Hour. Time will tell what the ABC execs have up their sleeves.

  • Jimmy James

    What’s with all the comments that have ABC pluralized? “ABC have..” “ABC are…”?

    As for folks wishing cancellation for a show they don’t watch, it happens all the time. Especially among network executives.

  • Blake

    @Ron

    Barry Sloane [Aiden] was upped to series regular on “Revenge” beginning with episode 14.

  • Gabe

    I think ABC should also air new episodes againt superbowl. Scheduling seems to be working oh so well for them. Fox and NBC are clearly stupid.

  • Blake

    @Gabe

    Perhaps instead of being sarcastic about ABC’s scheduling practices you should enlighten us with your ingenious alternative schedule. Though I doubt you’ll top Jerry Styles’ August suggestion.

  • Mia

    CBS should had used the post game slot to premiere Golden Boy. Hawaii FO is what it is , a mediocre show, and it will not suddenly turn into a hit after 3 seasons. For what I read in other sites the writing is not that bad, Peter Lenkov has been around for a while with other cop procedurals, so he is not new in the business . the poor acting is the main problem with the show, and that is why this show has guest stars week after week, to compensate that. They are bringing Terry O.Q to the show again to see if he can carry the show.
