ABC has pulled Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23 from its schedule and will replace it with an extra episode of Happy Endings starting January 29, per The Hollywood Reporter. this means that two episodes of Happy Endings will air back to back on Tuesdays from 9-10 until March when dancing With the Stars returns.  There is as yet no word on when or if  the remaining eight unaired episodes of Don't Trust the B will air. This move comes after ABC briefly aired extra, out-of-sequence episodes of both comedies on Sunday from 10-11PM, before yanking them off the schedule due to low ratings.

The Bitch in Apt.23 is the best comdey on TV right-now! I hate you, ABC. the only show I liked on your channel.

In the age of DVRs and time shifting, it shouldn’t matter what the lead in show is. It’s 2013, for God sakes. Who sits around watching TV in real time, and only tunes in to the next hour on the same network if it the milieu is the same?

Don’t Trust The B In ABC

ABC has played this game of shuffle-the-episodes or/and let’s hold back on a few and call them season two for so long and it is so much a turn-off. Body Of Proof season 1 was both randomly shuffled and had 4 eps held back. Apt 23 is the most totally-out-of-order broadcast of a show i can think of at this time – cancelled half-way through its second season it still has an unaired episode from its first season. Most viewers aren’t idiots and can easily notice out-of-sequence episodes; they are quite a turn-off. The writers do create a continuity and chronology and some broadcasters really love to screw it as much as possible, like we should read chapter 12 before chapter 7 and then skip to chapter 4 and move on to chapter 2 before going to chapter 13 when reading a novel because that is the best way to tell the story. ABC does love to do that a lot. Its a great way to sink your own battleship.

As for the remaining 4 episodes of 666 Park Avenue and 8 of Don’t Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23, almost certain to not get on tv in the US until the shows are repeated on Syfy or Cloo or FX in three years. Who is still waiting for those episodes of Eastwick?

As for the name, seriously… the things the FCC censors that are totally welcome in Canada.

@Oliver – NBC has done that before with shows, if a show is god enough to keep around, then NBC will do so.

@Craigward – In terms of that clever analogy ABC (Walter White) sacrificed Apartment 23 (Jane) in order to save Jesse (Happy Endings) but its days are numbered as well.

@Justin121 – If you are insinuating that the Modern Family Curse implys that any series airing after Modern Family will flop when it is moved to another night like Cougar Town, Happy Endings and Apartment 23, than Suburgatory is next, but I doubt ABC will move that off Wednesdays.

    The Modern Family Curse… ?

More like the MOVE IT TO TUESDAY Curse.

Lets be honest the second second is pure suck. Its the James Bland Der Geek show all season 2 and he was only tolerable in very small doses. Somewhere they got lost and it was unrecoverable. Every episode got worse and worse. I loved season one and I am glad now to see it go.

Wow so you put a sitcom on overcrowded Tuesday then burn the episodes off on Sunday and out of order sequence. I am really shock to see this fail.

I love both HE and APT 23 but I can see why HE like Cougartown never moves beyond a niche show but Apartment 23 is something that could have been a huge hit since it pretty much is essentially a Fox/Adult Swim Cartoon come to real life.

incredibly stupid- this was a GREAT show; zany, clever, original and, despite a totally trite &, you would think, thin premise, continually amusing. James Van Der Beek does such a great self-parody, Ritter is hilarious- so odd-looking but also gorgeous, manages to be utterly outrageous yet not mean, Walker is a perfect foil. There hasn’t been a better duo since Lucy & Ethel… Happy Endings is fun, but seriously? how can 2 hours of America’s Funniest Videos and 3 nights of Shark Tank be better?

Any word for those of us who purchased the season on i-tunes… Any chance we’ll get all 8 unaired episodes or just end up ripped off?

another good show gone. Maybe Fox can pick it up.
