They better bring back Nate, Matthew, Destiny, Ford, Jessica and James.
Tragic
@Machayla Matthew & Destiny are confirmed as well but they will both be recast.
Doing the Happy Dance! Love it!
I felt at the beginning that AMC was not going to get the short end of the deal this go around, but now am not so sure. AMC was always my show among the ABC shows and here we have a very limited cast and no writers yet. It seems as if they have just dropped AMC again.
Looks like they got the ‘heavy hitters’ for OLTL at least.
It looks like both shows have a solid cast. Any news on Alicia Minshew(Kendall) returning? I noticed that both Jordi and Thorsten signed on
@Machayla- Ford was killed off the show..not that he can’t return, it’s a soap so anything is possible. He was of my faves.
we need balsom and marasco!!!
A year from now they’ll all be unemployed…again!
If the shows are only a half-hour each, four days a week (as reported), they can’t possibly support or feature the same number of actors/characters as the hour long, 250+ episode per year shows they used to be. I wouldn’t doubt they’ll probably top out at around 15-18 actors a piece.
GREAT cast for OLTL. Getting Slezak, Strasser, Woods, Smith, Lozano, & DePaiva. Also Rama & Vimal were great new characters towards the end of OLTL’s run. The choice for writers is also great.
AMC, however, what a mess. No one wants to write for this show plus no Susan Lucci.
@Fox: Actually, a large ensemble cast could help in at least balancing out storylines and avoid overexposing certain front-burner characters every day of the week, especially if they’re sticking with a year-round production cycle (even with the possibility of seasonal breaks in between). This is the kind of model followed by several Anglophone soaps like Coronation Street, Home and Away, Shortland Street, and Emmerdale, all of them half-hours but has at least 20 or more core characters (major families, supporting players, etc). It could definitely work for the new versions of OLTL and AMC.
You have to respect what they have accomplished so far, and they clearly are not finished lining up casting for AMC, so fans should not fret. Bold and the Beautiful has been a half hour show for 26 years, so fans need not fret. If it is successful, you could see the shows expanding to an hour. Since they will be on the net, nothing would stop that.
Eww Rama, Cutter and Jacka$$? You are scraping the bottom of the barrel here, PP!
I would love to write for AMC!
I live in Connecticut near where this is filming and am an actor. Have me audition for a role! I’d love to join the cast of one of these shows!
You had me at Erika Slezak as Vicki OLTL! The rest of the cast could have been recast and I would have been fine. she is the reason I love OLTL, her Multiple Personality storyline in the 90s hooked me on this show at the ripe age of 10. Been a fan since!
I’m no fan of AMC or Susan Lucci but even I know without her this revamp for AMC is going to suffer right out of the gate….. Love the cast line up for OLTL so far with the exception of the exceptionally annoying Danielle character. I absolutely HATE that type of character on a soap these days — a whiny teenager.
OLTL needs Jessica and hopefully played by Bree Williamson who was fantastic in that role, but maybe she’s not available now. I will miss the gorgeous Ford who was killed at the end of ABC’s run of OLTL….. Lord, I’m getting more and more excited by the day. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
@TimsDale4ever- Bree Williamson is currently on Deception, but based on the ratings, it’s possible the show will be cancelled by the end of the season.
I would love to see her back on OLTL!!
