Episode #14: “It’s a Shame About Ray”

Debut: SATURDAY, FEB. 2 (10:05-10:35 p.m. ET/PT)

Other HBO playdates: Feb. 3 (9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m.), 5 (10:15 p.m.), 7 (10:00 p.m.) and 8 (midnight)

HBO2 playdates: Feb. 4 (9:00 p.m.), 5 (11:30 p.m.) and 9 (8:30 p.m., 1:15 a.m.)

Hannah (Lena Dunham) hosts a grown-up dinner party to celebrate her writing gig, but her friends’ behavior doesn’t live up to the setting. Marnie (Allison Williams) and Audrey (Audrey Gelman) square off; Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) realizes she has inadvertently entered a new phase with Ray (Alex Karpovsky); Jessa (Jemima Kirke) meets Thomas-John’s (Chris O’Dowd) parents (Griffin Dunne, Deborah Rush).

    I find it quite funny how much HBO are trying to make this show happen.

    @Oliver, the Cumulative (DVR, HBO Go) viewership is huge, like 4-5 million viewers. HBO counts DVR viewership. labeling this show a failure when it’s a DVR hit is idiotic. HBO has a different model than commercial tv. Because HBO is subscriber based and not ad supported, they don’t care how the 4-5 million a week watch the show.

    Not a word about Sunday’s post-globe numbers. Lol. It’s truly one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen and seeing it fail miserably is a delight.
