You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Oop @ The Carrie Diaries. I knew those repeat numbers wouldn’t add up the way people tried to spin it last week. The CW shows don’t increase in ratings. They only go down.

I need to watch The Following.

  • Mae

@ Alan, the Carrie Diaries ratings are “pretty solid”?? How?

I am sure that the Carrie Diaries has been a huge disappointment for the CW. 06. and 0.5 is just not cutting it.

It seems @ this point, it can only go down.

Looking at the viewers in millions too – thats huge With word of mouth being likely tremendous for this series, which it already is after episode one, expect this one to tick up a lot in DVR showings and it will not drop at all next week.
Yes, thats right. I said it is not dropping at all after the premiere. This is not a shocking statement if you look at the tracking for this show. It’s off the charts.

… OLIVER. Do some research before you claim something is a failure, or at least know what youre talking about.

With one data point it can be predicted this is going to be renewed. Done. Im serious. Im not being sarcastic.

The Following is FOXS much needed new franchise.

I know theres alot of hate on 90210 but I love that show its really good and have potential, sure its not amazing has it was before but yesterday episode was amazing. Monday is clearly not a good slot for 90210, they should put it on Tuesdays with Hart of Dixie, because The Carrie Diaries is the Worst CW show they put it, its just not good and its flopping, I wouldnt be suprise if next week TCD wont do the million mark…..Its just to bad that nobody watchs 90210 because its a really good show and deserve to have 1 or 2 more Seasons :-(

  • Cara

I believe that Elementary will be aired right after the Superbowl this year.

  • rob60990

The Following had about 10x more hype than Alcatraz and did worse. Plus I’m sure Kevin Bacon is not cheap.

  • Luke

Hopefully with the failure of the Carrie Diaries and the continued success of Arrow, Vampire Diaries and Supernatural….they will see the types of genres they should be going for ratings wise, next season, with ‘The Original’ already lined up, maybe they’re finally seeing what we’re seeing?

  • Adam

The Hawaii Five-O Ratings are not too bad because this time last year it was getting 2.5-2.7 18-49 with a Mike & Molly lead in of about 3.5 18-49 so overall there is not much difference and plus Hawaii Five-O was getting 9 million viewers also at this time last year.

I never thought Hawaii Five-O should be on a Monday after 2 hours of Comedy’s because the demographic is completely different but then that’s just my opinion

  • Cara

I agree that James Purefoy is a talented actor!

  • Jared

Wow..I really thought The Carrie Diaries would have went up from the premiere considering it had 2 additional encore showings. The fact that it fell hard doesn’t make me think there will be a second season now and it’s hurting 90210..which the CW should announce as the final season. I’m a fan of 90210 but theres more than enough time to wrap up any loose ends.

  • Grilne

Following #s is about par. Don’t like the title though. Wish they came up with a catchier title. “Following”… what lol

    The Following is FOXs Jesus.

“OLIVER. Do some research before you claim something is a failure, or at least know what youre talking about.”

You should do some research before calling a show a hit using 1 ratings. Do you know how many shows have premiered even higher and still failed?

  • Ginger

The CW and ABC Family are airing programming targeting the same audience. The CW should move Carrie Diaries and 90210. Maybe swap Monday and Wednesday….

  • Winston Mize

I know I dvr’d 90120 & the following last night. I think that slot for the CW is just no good. GG did terrible there this year and lAST. TO PUT 90210 there makes me worry they want it to fail….

Yes rob60990 I do. Im kind of obsessed with TV ratings.

But I know a hit when I see one. This is a hit.

  • s0303

pretty good for the following…hopefully it won’t drop as fast as alcatraz did…

the biggest loser and bachelor have held up really well…the biggest loser has been the top rated show for nbc since it premiered, though that’s not saying too much :)

    deception sure to be cancelled…

  • marilyn

Not sure what the point of getting the leads together on Castle was if they are going to act like brother/sister? There’s more action between couples on the Disney channel.

  • Christian

    It’s only the premiere.

The shows on FOX that “fall” have two hour premieres or are lead in dependent on the sample. Always.

    This already bucks the trend.
