Goood Morning!
1 degree again!!! but at least we got about 4 more inches of snow overnight! And thank GOD, we are gonna get a couple more today! Yeeeee Haaaaaaa, I love winter!
Getting ready to scoot out of town for the day, but, Good Morning All.
————-
I watched quite a bit of Hillary’s testimony yesterday. The Democrats were carrying pomm-poms & cheerleading , while the Republicans smashed & burned . There were no really incisive questions asked.
Here’s what the ‘National Journal’ thought mattered.
Clinton painted a very worrisome picture of the terrorist situation in Africa. Discussing the Islamist rebels in Mali, she sounded an alarm. Just because al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb has never attacked the United States doesn’t mean there’s no threat developing in the Sahara desert, she maintained ominously: “Before 2001, we hadn’t been attacked before the war of 1812 and Pearl Harbor,” she said.
Amid all the fond farewells to Clinton, amid all the praise for a former Senate colleague, it was a worrisome picture for incoming Secretary of State John Kerry and the rest of us.

Morning All,
Early Stat/Starting got a bit of a bump from the inauguration but not much compared to the rest of the programming for the day–still terrible numbers even for a regular programming day. Do any of you who post here watch it? If so, are they making any changes to try to improve the ratings?
@Ratboy
You get the snow and complain? We usually get Ice, that dude, isn’t fun at all
We get some snow here overnight and an Ice Storm Sunday. Hmmm..Is Global Warming supposed to be a bad thing? LOL
(The preceeding was an attempt at humor and not intended to cause an outpouring of Global Warming responses)
@ Coffee Steve
The new forcast says another 2 – 5 tomorrow too! Mother natrure is back from her vacation in the south Pacific and is making up for lost time!!!
Well we had some really really good news here in SW Michigan! But it will make the leftie loons very very mad!
We have just had announced over 1000 yep 1000 new jobs coming our way!! And here is the part that will pi$$ of the loons. They are coming because Michigan is now a right to work state!!!! Go figure! Jobs that would have NEVER come at any wage without it!
I guess our Republican Govenor and reps know what they are doing!
Now we just gotta find people willing to work!!!! That could be tougher!
@Ratboy
A station here just announced a major company will be moving here as well from California, they aren’t saying the name until the presser this evening. Must be a huge one though, the land they will be using is equal to 4 city blocks, thats about the size of one of the Ford plants here and GE.
PS:
GE here is like a miniture city complete with traffic lights and 4 lanes of traffic in and out of the plant
Before 2001, we hadn’t been attacked before the war of 1812 and Pearl Harbor,” she said.
It appears Hilary must have hit her head pretty hard to forget the first attacks on the World Trade Center.
@ Coffee Steve
there has been a pretty good list of companies tht have or are still looking at Michigan. The hold up has been “right to work”. Grandholm yused to go around telling companies that they should be happy to come to Michigan and become part of the unions because the UAW helped build this great state. That is when the companies would run away fast as they could figuring that they would be run by the unions.
There is still strategic reasons to come to Michigan if you are either in the auto industry or pharmasutical/medical supply industry.
I just made a phone call to a very good “in the know” contact and he told me that the 3 companises that announced are well prepared to import the work force rather than use Michigan labor. I asked why and he said that they have run ads for the jobs over the last months and the response was not only very low considering the economy but they did interviews and the quality/lack of interest was astonishing (his word not mine).
@coffee steve
that is a good song.
tuesday is open.
In upstate NY we are just getting the cold and no snow. Was 13 below last night. Was a real 6 cat night

Prolly most anybody who could have applied and been hired has long left the state.
Fresh Coffee is being served in Tuesday
Hey Coffee!!
It’s cold and rainy today, temps dropping again over the weekend. But I will take a high of 60′s over what the poor Mid-west is going through. Was thinking about going to Palm Springs where it’s supposed to be in the 70′s, but I’ve got a lot going on with lousy contractors being flakey on the new place.
@Jeff, why so angry? Were you not hugged enough as a child? Can you do anything but attack? Live up to the fact the Obama has faults. He went to a church whose leader preached hatred of the white man. You’re a fool to say booze and drugs have caused more damage the hatred. But why am I surprised you posts are filled with hate.
Yep, liberals watched history Monday and what do you see? The main stream media wetting themselves over Obama. It was clear to all that the press has a double standard when it comes to Democratic and Republican leadership. Then we all got to see that Obama’s speech told us that his second term agenda is nothing like the agenda he ran his campaign on.
I’m tired hearing how Obama isn’t as bad as Bush. Tell me about the GOOD he has done.
Yes, 9/11/2001 happened on Bush’s watch. (He’d been on the job less the eight months. However the four years of planning the attack acquire on Clinton’s watch.
You want to compare Bush to Obama. Here is a comparison for you. On 9/11/2001, the scariest day in U.S. history. Bush was a voice of calming and reassurance. He united us. When people started attacking Arab-Americans he called for a stop of it. After the Virginia Tech shooting he again calmed the country. The focus was morning, recovery and learning the reason why it happened. The blame was placed on the shooter. He was mentally ill and we focused on keeping guns away from the ill. In the year following the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, Congress passed and President George W. Bush signed the first major change to U.S. gun laws in more than a decade. This done while keeping the country calm.
Now let’s look at Obama and Sandy Hook. Within an hour of the shooting the Obama administration and democrats in congress were calling for gun bans. Obama’s first speech was good. But the next day he was joining in the gun banning craze. The message coming out of Washington, D.C. was “our children are in danger schools aren’t safe. Be scared be very scared for the safety of your children.” Obama did nothing nor has he still done anything to calm the American people. If fact he is keeping the fear only. And worse then keeping the fear going, Obama is dividing the country a long the gun line. He is still on his “The mean old NRA wants people to kill your children. I want to save them. The NRA wants to kill them.”
A leader calms his country. He makes you feel safe in dangerous times. And he does his job with little fan fair.

My take is that CNN hasn’t done much about dismal ratings, as one would think they should, because they are in the top 4 networks in terms of most affluent viewers (those households with income of $100K and more). Maybe they would lose those with more popular programs, I don’t know. It should be a delicate balancing act.
@Cathy is not too bright!! Not angry, at all. Of course President Obama has faults as well as you clearly share by your hypocritical message implying I am angry and attacking while you make silly suggestions. I DO read your posts and find that you make plenty of good points, and many points not worth commenting on given the nature and vast erratic topics you cover in your comments.
I support the President and his policies, yet you say that’s anger. I respond to aggressive comments directed at me and again you say I need a hug or some BS. LOL!
There are a few other folks in here that engage in the back and fourth with you and I enjoy reading both sides. As far as President Obama vs Bush goes. I woke up everyday wondering how our county was better with that moron in the WH destroying our economy and our global reputation. I came up short everyday that idiot was in office. He had a chance after 9/11 to really become the greatest…..but he blew that too.
Obama v Bush…. There is NO comparison in my eyes, Bush was a horrible President, (why you ask)
If he was SOOO GREAT….. why was he absent from the last GOP convention in Tampa?? His name never mentioned other than his silly brother Jeb.
Your on the wrong side of history lady, as is your entire party on almost every issue.
Ciao!!
