   surprised at Girls viewership, although the numbers are strange considering from just those two viewings there was over a million viewers, plus I think there was a third viewing which i’m sure had decent numbers as well. I watched it the next day, so of course those numbers aren’t factored in. I’m in college, and everyone seems to watch this show, just not right when it airs all the time. The show does have a huge following, so I wouldn’t undermine the success of it. Don’t forget, it really doesn’t have a strong male audience which HBO seem’s to cater towards most of the time.

   Hipster Girls fans week 1: the ratings were low because of the golden globes and it’s going to go up SO much next week because of its 2 wins!!!!!

   Hipster Girls fans week 2: ratings don’t matter on HBO, it’s all about on demand and HBO Go!!!!

   Not awful for Chasing the Saturdays, but definitely not amazing. I’m hoping it grows throughout the season.

   I can’t tell if Girls is doing bad, or ok. Didn’t it make around a million in total viewers for HBO during it’s first season, even though the first viewings were much higher?

    @rob60990, ratings and quality of show don’t always match. Just look at Friday Night Lights. Besides, calling this show a failure when its OnDemand viewership is huge is stupid. HBO doesn’t care how they get their audience.

    And of course quality =/= number of viewers. Hundreds of shows prove that, both ways. But when people keep using the word “hit” to describe a show, it should actually be a “hit” (i.e., get viewers outside college dorms, Park Slope and similar environs).
