    Morning all
    Nice and warm here. Wore shorts yesterday. Saw lots of people riding in convertibles with the tops down.
    IRS doesn’t have enough people to do the audits they need to do. So they will audit preparers. If you prepare your own taxes you are less likely to be audited. Lets see how we’ll this works out.

    The difference between todays Press and the past

    VP Joe Biden has been saying he heard the gunshots in the 2006 Amish killings while playing at a nearby golf course. Problem is the nearest golf course is 5 miles from that area.

    Wheres the so-called national reporters calling him out? Only the local reporters are checking into it, but to this day he still is getting by with not telling the truth.

    Vice President Biden a bit off course saying he heard Nickel Mines gunshots?

    Thats not very nice :-)

  • Letmethink

    @coffee
    I know. I feel guilty enjoying such nice weather while others are so cold. I keep thinking about those who had their electricity cut off in your state.

  • Letmethink

    I posted the other day and I still believe Biden is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s. Time will tell.

  • Ratboy

    Gooood Morning to all the daytime sane posters!
    HEAT WAVE!!! 17 degrees (by the way Bite Me Letmethink :lol: ) BUT……………2 – 5 inches predicted for today and it has already started! Alll I can say is…..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    GRrrr…%#*$% We are having an ice storm . If the ice was thicker on the driveway , I could put my ice skates on & have some fun. The worries are the overloaded trees , electric lines, & the
    possible loss of power.

    ————————

    I believe in healthy living, but, this “nudge” made me think of Cass Sunstein.

    Smokers may not be able to afford ‘Obamacare’

    The Affordable Care Act allows health insurers to charge smokers buying individual policies up to 50 percent higher premiums starting next Jan. 1.

    For a 55-year-old smoker, the penalty could reach nearly $4,250 a year. A 60-year-old could wind up paying nearly $5,100 on top of premiums.

  • Coffee Steve

    @LetMeThink

    After cathy and I traded post about it I checked into the companies policy. A few years ago a British outfit took over the Electric Company, they changed the policy and in fact do cut off no matter what the weather. A woman told a local station she gathered up all but 6 doallrs to pay her bill, they shut her off with only a 6 dollar balance.

    Its disgusting. And now if you use over a certain kilowatt amount? Thats set by the company of course, they charge you at a higher rate for the overusage. No hearings, no meetings, they simply just started doing it.

    Kinda like Russia ya know.

  • Ratboy

    I got that flu Christmas morning and just this week I have energy again (but still not 100%) All I wanted to do was sleep. I would get home, eat, and lay down to watch a little tv and BOOM, asleep! I have talked to a bunch of people that had flu shots but STILL got it!

  • Coffee Steve

    @d.d.

    From people I know that are smokers, they are already being charged double rates for their smoking habits on many life insuaance policies (mainly new ones)

    Hmmm..since as many people die from beer, drunk drivers, liver disease etc… is the beer drinkers next? And for those of us that excersise and try to stay healthy where is our big discount? Oh, watch ands see if they don’t charge extra for gun owners soon on all policies, you know higher risk factor and all.

    Then again, salt, sugar, butter, soda’s are higher risk too, so look for higher rates soon on those users as well.

  • Letmethink

    My granddaughter got the stomach flu around New Years and still feels terrible. Wants to sleep constantly. Went back to doc yesterday.

    You are unstable. You go around telling people they need to be schooled and immediately repeat what they just said.

  • Coffee Steve

    @letMeThink

    Its not just Joe I think may have Alzheimers, I think Uncle Sam has it as well. he is out of control and sad to say its just the start of the state guiding your life.

    SANDY BACK PATTERS should read the papers.

    Arctic air gripped parts of the United States on Thursday, making life miserable for people still without heat months after superstorm Sandy.

    In Brooklyn, New York, where about 200 homes slammed by Sandy in October remained without heat, “It’s just getting colder and colder,” said Doreen Greenwood-Garson, chief of the Gerritsen Beach Fire Department.

    Nightly, the volunteer department has loaded its ambulance with donated space heaters and free hot meals and delivered them to shut-ins, said Greenwood-Garson, a real estate broker. Already it has given away a total of 60 space heaters and each night about 50 meals, she said.

    In Long Beach on New York’s Long Island, the Martin Luther King Center, a community gathering spot, ran out of donated space heaters, said James Hodge, a city employee who is coordinating relief efforts there and is without heat in his own home.

    The center has been hosting more than 100 people during the day who needed a warm place to stay for a few hours, particularly school-children, who are being provided hot food, Hodge said.

    There are more than 2,600 homes on Staten Island still without heat. Three months after the hurricane hit.

    Could you repeat that please? :twisted:

  • Letmethink

    @coffee. Agree Uncle Sam is sick. Spent the day yesterday with my Vietnamese friend. The horrors of communism and the way people are treated is sickening.

  • Letmethink

    Well off for the day. Have a good one.

    A friend said he’s so broke he “don’t have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out.” Sort of glad we’re not neighbors.

    @d.d.

    The “Sandy” situation in New York is far worse than anyone in the Nation knows. Its never reported enough or accurate enough. Half the supplies we send there never make it to those people.

  • Coffee Steve

    Speaking of helping, I have a couple of elderly neighbors that needs their sidewalks salted, so my kid and I will be out a bit

    Later Gators

    Peace
