TLC TAKES VIEWERS INTO THE WILD WORLD OF “GYPSY SISTERS”

All-new series premieres February 10 at 9/8c

TLC returns to the thriving Gypsy community in West Virginia to experience life in the Stanley family, a loud and proud clan that was first introduced in the series MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING. Now, the new series GYPSY SISTERS takes a closer look at the four women who lead this outrageous family with their own set of rules, and where everything is taken to the extreme, including their fights and their love for each other.

The all-new eight-episode series GYPSY SISTERS starts with a special 2-hour premiere on Sunday, February 10 at 9/8c.

Martinsburg, West Virginia is a hotbed of Gypsy culture and intrigue. With their husbands constantly on the road for work, the women are expected to stay home, cook, clean, and raise the children. When they’re not busy doing household chores and working to look their best, they keep themselves entertained by involving themselves in each others lives – whether they’re welcomed or not.

Nettie Stanley is the outspoken matriarch of the Stanley clan, and she wields gossip like a weapon against her enemies. When she’s not stirring up drama and inserting herself into the lives of her nine children, she’s contending with her rambunctious younger sister Mellie, the self-proclaimed black sheep of the family. Mellie’s job as a stripper, as well as her proclivity for drinking, swearing, and getting into fist fights has made her The Talk of the town, and Nettie feels that Mellie has brought shame on the family name.

Meanwhile, Nettie’s cousin Kayla strives to be the perfect gypsy wife and mother, but the demanding roles often prove easier said than done. Kayla and her traditional Gypsy husband Richard continually butt heads when it comes to raising theirteenage daughter, Danielle. Kayla wants to let Danielle date whomever she pleases, but Richard is insistent on Danielle marrying a proper Gypsy boy. Kayla’s life is further complicated when her brother Gus and sister-in-law Laura move in with them. Kayla worries that eleven people living under one roof is a recipe for disaster!

GYPSY SISTERS delivers an in-depth look at the Stanley’s twisted family tree. When Mellie’s ex-boyfriend, Robbie - the love of her life – returns to town, he unwittingly turns her wild and carefree world upside down and forces Mellie to reevaluate the direction her life is headed. And, just as Mellie opens herself up to the possibility of love and marriage, her ex-con mother, Lottie Mae, gets released from prison, unleashing a hornet’s nest of fighting and fury for everyone in the Stanley family.

Open the door into the lives of this big Gypsy family Sundays at 9/8c, only on TLC.

TLC is suppose to stand for The Learning Channel. I don’t know what you can learn from them though – maybe how to be a piece of trash. I no longer watch this channel and see they are now sinking to a new low.

  • jade

I know right this show is worse than Jersey Shore. The mother is a disgrace letting her children act like that. This is an absolute insult to the Gypsy culture. smfh.

  • Jose Herrera

I would like to add a mans point of view to this online venue. To TLC sheer stupidity and a disservice to all people with brains . To the lady’s on the show, don’t end up in prison like your mom . To the men in these womens lives.CONTROL you’re BITCHES and get the money cuz it won’t last! Good luck with that . As for myself I will be looking at porn. Much more EDUCATIONAL F…tards

  • A travler

These women are a disgrace to romneys and travlers these women are nothing but hoes and dirty filthy bar flys real travler and gypsy women don’t drink and carry on like that this is why we get a bad reputation cuz of stupid hoes like this who can’t keep there friggen mouths shut and there only looking for money. Personally, I’m so sick of The Learning Channel,
History, History 2, and Discovery channels deviateing from
What they were to what they are now. I watched these
channels and only these for a long time. Now I
watch them very very rarely. It’s sad because they were
SO much better back Before . Now they are full of
STUPID reality shows. These stations have turned
Morphed and coformed into what other channels are
Doing. I really miss the way old ways of these Channels!
Please, consider people like myself who are so
Sick of reality shows I could scream!

I’ve been calling TLC the Freak Show Channel for a couple of years now – it’s just about all they show any more – little people, Amish rebels, women who “didn’t know they were pregnant”, the nasty Boo Boo crew, people with waaaaay too many kids and/or wives, grossly overweight people, gypsies, ladies with no clue what to wear, etc. etc. etc. It’s like going to the circus and walking through the sideshows in the old days. Sick to death of it all. Won’t be watching these skanks, or much of anything else on TLC, sadly.

  • california gypsy

these women disgust me. they aren’t gypsys! they’re trailer trash and little better than the sluts on Jersey Shore. they give all of the actual travelers and real gypsys bad names. i don’t think i’ll be watching TLC again any time soon

Watch out people “Gypsies” which in reality are Roma people, mostly from Eastern European descent are really dangerous in a non violent way. To them, non Gypsies or Gadje as they call them are “unclean” and to be abused by stealing from them. Yes a naive or desperate person could become financially ruined dealing with these Gypsies. I know, since my father was a cop who dealt with them.

Man what they are a f’n disgrace to Gypsies. They are pure trash&ugly too! Lol

  • vannah

i love gypsy sister show live right up the road from mellie lol

  • Carolyn

I watch shows on the tlcnetwork so I recorded the new show the gypsy sisters last night to check it out. Well I just watched some of an episode and I am so disgusted I have ended up here to voice my complaint. There is a scene at one of the sisters baby shower where there’s a verbal fight. There was so much swearing in front of babies and children. One of the sisters had their baby in their lap and set the baby down beside her very firm, so firm I almost cried. I do not support toddlers and tiaras so I just dont watch it. But not only do I not support this show, I feel it is so bad it should not be allowed to air on tv. Tlc should be embarrassed and disgusted in themselves! Seriously disGUSTING!!!

  • Skye

I agree with the person who said that TLC should change their name to the “freak” channel. It is too bad they have gone that way as I believe lots of people would really like a channel that teaches about different interesting, scientific and natural phenomenon. Instead, TLC is losing it’s credibility and has become the channel of carnival oddities, and perhaps even not even on the level at sinking to that low position. I just happened up on this ignorant show, flipping channels to see what was on. Excuse me while I flip right off of it.

  • Christine

So TLC–what are you trying to teach the public with this show? Uncontrolled anger? Irrational behavior? This is the last thing that should be aired…beautiful women fighting like dogs…shame on you TLC!

  • ajarcuri

I watch this show with my wife and I feel like I’ve list brain cells after viewing. What a bunch of trashy low life people. TLC is in some serious need of new management. Aren’t gypsys descendants of brown or indian people? The people on this show look like trailer trash.. They should all kill them selfs.

  • Candi

Mellie is the biggest loser ever. She acts absolutely ridiculous. She wants it to be the Mellie show instead of Gyspy sisters. Nothing but a drama queen. She makes me sick!

  • Kkoalakiss

I love gypsy sisters I am half my self

  • Kkoalakiss

Gypsys are cool and I am half

  • Gypsy girl

I think mellie is going to be a great mother and I think she will be a good girl with her baby
