You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    It looks like San Antonio is the 37th largest Nielsen television market with an estimated 818,560 homes. I guess that might be able to take a little bit of a nibble out of CBS for the night.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ CBSviewer

    Revolution is the highest rated 10:00 drama of all networks (sorry)

  • alexis

    @BigBrotherFan

    I have already mentioned Amell was bad. My point is Amell can’t act but both Felicity and Oliver’s sister have chemistry with Amell. So if Cassidy really is that talent then she should be able to act well opposite a bad actor.

  • JONNYSBRO

    I agree the Middle is one of the best comedies on TV. It held extremely steady against Idol. It has a great cast and it never gets recognized. I think its a funnier show then MF which I have always found overated to tell you the truth. The Middle deserves some kind of accoldaes. Eden Sher who plays Sue if this girl doesn’t nominated there is no justice. Where did they find such a great little actress? The girl is a comedic genius. ABC should renew the Middle for a fifth and sixth season. It deserves it. It did very well holding against Idol the way it did.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ BigBrotherFan

    Maybe they should flip flop Katie w/ the girl from Revolution–I’d love to see a wooden actor & actress together trying to give a performance

  • Shepherd

    CW holding up against Idol really says a lot, especially for Supernatural which is probably more female skewing than Arrow.
    CM seems a little high (maybe by .1 or so) especially considering the hit MF took against Idol; CSI seems moderately inflated- waiting for final numbers though.
    Ouch for Nashville! I can’t imagine its numbers it would have if it had to go against Idol, maybe the audience was a little burned out on music by 10pm? CF-R did better than LaO-R but I’m not sure if NBC would be completely satisfied with these repeat numbers. (I’m not sure how well NBC repeats normally do)
    Anyone know what time the bball game actually aired?

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Alexis

    His chemistry with Willa comes of as creepy and weird. If it weren`t for the writers reminding us ever scene they are in that they are infact brother and sister then who would know. The entire scenes they share come off as creepy and forced.

    Amell has never proven a strong actor. Katie won`t win a Emmy but her chrisma would trample on him anyday. Like I said, proven track record BAD SCRIPTS for her character.

    Maybe the writers give her crappy material to tone her down so she does not own every single scene she is forced to share with him. They know she will chew up the entire scene and he would, for lack of better terms, just become background. They can`t have that for the `star`of the show.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @THEOLDMAN

    haha! I don`t watch that show but I would nominate McPhee girl from SMASH FOR SURE!

  • Shepherd

    @ HT
    You know, I’ve never seen Max make personal attacks against any poster on this site, only at their shows. This certainly shows character considering all the personal attacks levied against him! Grow up!

    @Dahne

    I get your point about wanting an escape considering how painful everything was on SPN last week. I just meant if they wanted continuity why not talk about the Castiel issue instead of bringing up the annoying Amelia/Benny issue? This is Supernatural. To me it’s more likely for the boys to discuss what’s wrong with their friend than keep up their soap opera drama (honestly, in real life guys let that stuff go really quickly because they don’t like emotional drama like girls do.) And it bothers me that whenever Misha Collins isn’t in an episode his character seems to drop from the face of the earth.

    Regarding Arrow I’m with you that the writing for Laurel is real bad. I rolled my eyes when Tommy praised her for always seeing the good in everyone. That’s exactly what makes her so bland. There are no shades to her character. She’s a blank canvas of miles wide goodness.

  • Once & Again

    WHY WHY WHY AND WHY??????????

    Why is Modern Family so low, it should be in the margin of 4.6 – 5.0. Even Idol is down, so why did Modern Family went so low? It’s far better then last season and it doesn’t have stronger ratings. :(

    LOL… Basketball is not Football, so I don’t think the local ratings were anywhere near a 10.0 in the demo.

    Remember if the TV market is roughly 1% of the national total, a 10.0 demo will skewed the numbers by 1/10 of a point….

    Where it might make a difference is if because of rounding up (or down) a show got a 2.651 and in the results listed here would show a 2.7. If in the finals the show rated a 2.649, it would show up here as an adjustment to 2.6.

    This is why the tenth of a point adjustments we normally see here look impressive, but they really are not….

    I would venture to say that in Nielsen’ calculations, the actual changes for most shows is smaller than what we see here.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ BigBrotherFan

    Only watched the pilot of Revolution, so you see what a lasting impression she made; agree w/ McPhee, so now I don’t know which one I’d prefer!

  • Laina

    I saw someone post elsewhere that pigs must be flying and Hell’s frozen over because the Supernatural fans are happy after last night’s episode! LOL

    I thought it was an excellent episode, but I’ve loved this season, with the exception of the blah Sam & Amelia storyline (talk about no chemistry). Loved seeing Charlie again and just the overall fun of the story.

    In response to the Katie Cassidy talk on here. I thought she was great when she was a regular on S3 of Supernatural. She had great chemistry with both leads. I tried watching Arrow but gave up after the 3rd episode. Like others have said I thought the acting was wooden, especially by the guy who plays Oliver. I didn’t see a lot of chemistry between him and Katie’s character either. Sometimes that just happens. I remember thinking that Jensen Ackles could have chemistry with a doorknob if given a chance because he’s always had such great chemistry with everyone on Supernatural but that ended when they brought the character of Lisa on to be Dean’s love interest. No chemistry whatsoever. I don’t blame either actor for the lack of chemistry. It doesn’t say anything about their own acting just that the two of them together had no chemistry. The how I see it with Katie and the main actor in Arrow (sorry I can’t remember his name, but I do think he looks a lot like Chris O Donnell).

  • Ruan

    How come both “The Middle” and “The Neighbors” went up and “Modern Family” and “Nashville” went down so much? “Nashville” is a new show and their ratings tend to vary a lot, but “Modern Family” was the most-watched scripted show last season. Anyway…

    I think “CSI” will be adjusted down considering the whole basketball thing. It doesn’t have that kind of strength anymore.

    As for “American Idol”, fantastic performance as usual.

    Hope you’re not affected by the Arctic blast. If you are, I’ll put another log on the fireplace in your honor!

    I don’t think Stephen Amell is bad in Arrow. In my opinion, he’s the best part of the show. He acts exactly how a man exiled for 5 years, endured torture and battled loneliness would act. Oliver is dead inside; he figures his come back didn’t do him that much favors; he keeps lying to his family; he lost his girlfriend to his best friend; he now knows his father worked for/with bad person. All he can do right now to keep himself sane is to fulfill his father’s wish – to right his wrong.

    Idol should be okay if it stays in this area this season instead of huge declines.

    Another solid night from Criminal Minds an CSI as both of these shows are doing really well especially CSI as I really believe the changes with Ted Danson and Elisabeth Shue has given this show extra life. It might very well be around for 15-20 years.

    The CW has been holding up really well against Idol, way better than I expected. Arrow is pretty much Idol proof and that’s a good sign for the network as they can just leave it on Wednesdays for most of its run.

    ABC Wednesdays are starting to get sort of ugly now, the numbers are all over the place and MF is declining hard this season but the one stable show remains The Middle. After the great growth from Nashville last week it goes back down, not that good of a sign but not a problem also. I would still definitely move Nashville to a different preferably Tuesdays or Thursdays. Suburgatory has been a huge let down all season as it should’ve stayed at 8:30p. Neighbors is consistent but its ratings are lead-in dependent in other words ABC could do way better here.

    NBC was in repeats but there is something to talk about as Whitney was consistent week-to-week as its their strongest scripted comedy repeater at the moment but nothing to brag about really. Next week is going to be an easier week than the week after as their only real competition is Idol so the numbers should be decent. I would still love to see Whitney/GWK on Tuesdays behind Off Their Rockers. Chicago Fire and SVU should be able to get right back to where they were at next week as the competition is also really light for them. NBC was smart in their strategy repeating these past couple of weeks and having their shows comeback when the competition is in repeats.

    Stephen Amell’s acting wasn’t bad when he was on TVD.
