Suburgatory is losing some of its luster this year. I can’t believe it was actually doing better last year when it didn’t have MF as a lead-in. But comedy was hot in general last year and especially ABC’s Wednesday block shone very bright. It’s possible that SUB just got lucky it premiered in a year like that. But even with these ratings, third season is a lock, and with that a mandatory season 4 for syndication purposes.

Suburgatory lol only 2 tenths better than The Neighbours despite a 4.1 lead in. FLOP

I’m surprised CBS held on for the most part considering the preemption for the NBA game. Criminal Minds up to a 3.1 and CSI at a healthy and stable 2.6 for a double digit season veteran show isn’t bad at all imo.

Atleast Nashville went up a tenth however with it building some momentum with demo ratings over the past month or so with slight improvements, I think this certain renewal business was premature. If Nashville could stabilize at low 2’s it could get the scandal treatment with hopes that it will build in season 2.

Didn’t care much for the guest star in last night’s SPN, but good to see the show is holding up in the spring. It usually has a dip around this time. Also nice to see Arrow holding up above a 1.0. The CW must be very pleased with its Wednesday night lineup.

American Idol…down down down. Good. What garbage this show is.

  • Kaylie

@Carl I totally agree with you. Nashville is better for Fox. Being that American Idol is huge with country music and Nashville has that country backing, could push the show.

If I were ABC, I would move The Neighbors and Suburgatory to Fridays with Last Man Standing and Malibu County. I think they all would be a good fit if they promoted it as another TGIF.

I would move Shark Tank to Tuesdays or Thursdays (8pm) and then try to launch new comedies out of The Middle and Modern Family (if the new midseason comedies are not renewed).

  • Keith

^ my post above is what I would do for next year’s schedule. I wouldn’t make the changes now obviously.

I think suburgatory is not as good as last season

Early call on Nashville certain renewal. Will drop again next week when Chicago Fire returns to new episodes. Much better show with better ratings.

    AGREED!

    @ Keith

That wouldn’t be a good mix that should be an exclusive multi-cam lineup for TGIF.

  • Joe

    Get it, The Neighbors!

  • Kavyn

The Neighbors just keeps getting better and better. I’m really glad I gave this show a chance.

  • KOPS

I’m not trying to hate but Neighbors aren’t great, LMS is getting more viewers on a Friday for godsakes. It’s nothing but a low-rate Suburgatory.

  • Jason

With ratings going down on Idol, what will they have to do for a theme week to win them back: KISS or Alice Cooper or something? I’d rather it shock the viewers rather than entertain.

  • Dan S

I’ll be the 1st to admit Suburgatory is waning. It’s definitely more slapstick & less funny than last season & it’s ratings reflect that. It’ll get a 3rd season & agree it should pair with Neigbors on Fridays. If Happy Endings doesn’t get an unhappy 1 & comes back it should return to Wed at 9:30pm.

    The Middle rocks!

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

Suburgatory is a mess, if it keeps dropping i wouldn’t consider it a lock for renewal anymore.
The Neighbors got a much smaller Lead in and still got a 2.0

  • C.S.Strowbridge

Nashville is a easy renew for ABC. Not only does it have relatively good ratings, it is also selling CDs and singles.

  • Barbie

If they keep alternating between new CSI and Chicago Fire, they’ll keep getting 2. something ratings for the rest of the seasons.

(That’s why CSI was so high — no 2.2-2.4) ratings Chicago Fire has pulling lately this week ;)
