FOX has officially canceled Ben And Kate. Wednesday FOX removed the struggling freshman comedy from its schedule. Today, per The Hollywood Reporter, filming ended. Sixteen of the eighteen episodes that were ordered have been shot. No word on whether the remaining unaired episodes will ever be shown.

Bye Bye Ben and Kate, nice try, but you won’t really be missed.

  • DW

yeah fox could you re-animate George C. Scott and bring him back as Mr. president and Richard Grieco as Booker. i want my high school days back. :)

  • James

Not sad about this news at all. I gave this show a real chance and never laughed once at the 3 episodes I saw.

  • TeeVeeViewer

Yes!!! Hopefully, the next one to go will be that wretched “Mindy Project.”

  • Other Than That Mrs. Lincoln How Was The Play?

If they would have replaced the entire cast with Ben Linus and Kate Austen from LOST it would have been a success. Stupid network suits.

  • Other Than That Mrs. Lincoln How Was The Play?

The only way to save the Mindy Project is to change the name to the Mork and Mindy Project by adding Robin Williams as the creepy neighbor who keep peeping in her windows yelling Nanu Nanu then running away when the cops show up.

This show was ok. I stopped watching after episode 3. It was a little boring for me though. Mindy was even worse. That show really needed to go.

  • Kaylie

Lol, give it to the CW.

  • Joseph

The two unaired episodes will probably be put on the DVD set and promoted as “Ben and Kate: The Lost Episodes”.

    LOL!

And our own Cancellation Bear has been eagerly waiting to devour this one. I think he’s wanted to chew on this one ever since the moment Fox decided to place it on their Fall 2012 schedule.

Hopefully Fox will air the remaining episodes.

  • Dan

@Snoot – I’m sure they will, there’s only 2 episodes so a Friday at 8 or Sunday at 7 hourlong burnoff this summer is definitely an option. Unlike the 6 episodes of Teenage Daughter or 8 episodes of Breaking In FOX still has dusting off the shelf.

FOX really liked Ben & Kate which is why they gave the show 19 episodes when they could have just canceled it after 3 eps. But it’s cancellation was inevitable.

I loved the show, but it was obvious from the first episode that it wouldn’t last. People just aren’t into light/quirky family comedies anymore.

  • Karl

Someone should start a network and call it CTS (Cancelled Too Soon). Only show good shows that didn’t get a chance on their original network.

  • Sharon

Next to Modern Family this was hands down the funniest show on television. It was a show our whole family enjoyed. Now it is cancelled and stupid mind numbing shows like “Honey Boo Boo” are renewed for another season. Who are the idiots who make these choices? This was a very bad one. Good luck to the cast of this show – they were great together!

  • Tiffany

This sucks!! I looove this show. Stupid Fox didn’t advertise for it enough.

  • carol

what happened to Ben & Kate? It was one the best shows your have. It was a comedy that actually was funny! bring it back.

  • Peg

So sad to see this go. It was one of our family favorites. I thought it was funny and interesting in a fun way that was different from most comedies. Not to mention how likable and hilarious all of the characters were. I was really upset when I saw that it was cancelled.
