   Obama EPA kills power plant, 3,900 jobs in Texas

   Chase Power, the parent company behind the $3 billion Las Brisas coal power plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, announced yesterday that it was cancelling the project.

   “Chase Power … has opted to suspend efforts to further permit the facility and is seeking alternative investors as part of a plan of dissolution for the parent company,” Chase CEO Dave Freysinger told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

   Freysinger made it very clear who was responsible for the projects death. “The (Las Brisas Energy Center) is a victim of EPA’s concerted effort to stifle solid-fuel energy facilities in the U.S., including EPA’s carbon-permitting requirements and EPA’s New Source Performance Standards for new power plants,” he said.

   The Las Brisas power plant had been part of a larger Las Brisas Energy Center project planned for Corpus Christi’s Inner Harbor. Economists had projected that in the first 5 years of construction and operation the project would create as 1,300 direct and 2,600 indirect jobs. Now none of those jobs will exist.

   “These costly rules exceeded the bounds of EPA authority, incur tremendous costs, and produce no real benefits related to climate change,” Freysinger commented.

   Brock’s Glock: In anti-gun DC, Media Matters for America gave bodyguard illegal weapons to guard founder David Brock

   A staffer at left-wing Media Matters for America committed numerous felonies in the District of Columbia and around the country by carrying a firearm to defend the organization’s founder, David Brock, The Daily Caller has learned.

   According to a knowledgeable source, multiple firearms used to protect the Media Matters founder were purchased with Brock’s blessing — and apparently with the group’s money.

   TheDC has previously reported that Brock’s one-time aide, Haydn Price-Morris, carried a concealed Glock handgun as he traveled with the liberal leader to public events in Washington, D.C.

   But the extent of Brock’s armed activities have been largely unknown until now, even among those closest to him. An array of current and former Media Matters sources, all with intimate knowledge about the inner workings of the organization, granted extensive interviews to TheDC.

   Brock, whose struggles with mental health have seen him hospitalized in the past, became increasingly concerned by late 2010 that he was being targeted by right-wing assassins.

   TheDC has learned that by that time, Brock had armed his assistant — who had no permit to carry a concealed firearm — with a Glock handgun.

   According to an internal email exchange obtained by TheDC, the gun was purchased with cash in Maryland, likely to diminish the chances such a purchase would appear on the tax-exempt group’s books.

   OReilly has promised to make this the topic of his talking points memo tonight. But on Friday he had good things to say about Kroft and hoed he would do a real interview rather than what he did. OReilly gave the benifit of doubt to Kroft on Friday but dont expect that tonight, EXPECT THE TRUTH!!

   60 Minutes Viewers Blast Swoon Journalist Kroft Lovefest Interview of Obama and Hillary

   So who has cuter dimples? Swoon Journalist Steve Kroft or Mario Lopez?

   It’s a reasonable question to ask because the Extra host’s interviews of celebs like Angelina and Brad couldn’t have been any more of a puff piece than Kroft’s starry-eyed interview of President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday’s 60 Minutes. A half hour of softballs were gently served up by Kroft who acted as if he were overjoyed to just bask in the glow of his interviewees who ate up almost all the time praising each other. Oh, there was the obligatory question that Kroft was almost required to ask about Benghazi but it was delivered in such a manner as to be easily deflected by Hillary before the interview returned to full empty calorie cotton candy mode.

   Although watching a half hour of Obama and Hillary telling a smiling Steve Kroft how much they liked each other made for deadly dull television, the best part of the interview was reading the viewer comments at the 60 Minutes website. The comments ranged from complete outrage to hilarious sarcasm, many of which you can see below.

   So what was the “controversial” Benghazi question that Kroft almost apologetically asked of Hillary deep into the interview? Here goes:

   Steve Kroft: You said during the hearings, I mean, you’ve accepted responsibility. You’ve accepted the very critical findings of Admiral Mullen and Ambassador Pickering. As the New York Times put it, you accepted responsibility, but not blame. Do you feel guilty in any way, in– at a personal level? Do you blame yourself that you didn’t know or that you should have known?

   This was easily deflected by Hillary with a typical non-answer before the interview returned to full swoon with these types of questions and answers:

   Steve Kroft: How would you characterize your relationship right now?

   President Obama: I consider Hillary a strong friend.

   Secretary Clinton: I mean, very warm, close. I think there’s a sense of understanding that, you know, sometimes doesn’t even take words because we have similar views. We have similar experiences that I think provide a bond that may seem unlikely to some, but has been really at a core of our relationship over the last four years.

   If you watched this interview it was a half hour of powder puff wasted time that you will never get back. The fringe benefit, however, was the often hilarious viewer comments on the interview. Here are several examples:

   Steve Kroft surrenders his role as a journalist and has become a paparazzi fawning over Beiber.

   Next time, do not have a liberal interview two other liberals. It makes for boring TV. For example, before ever broaching Benghazi, they decided to get the more important stuff out of the way first, i.e. their feelings and Hilary’s state of health.

   What an Obama and Clinton love fest. Thanks Steve for nothing…..What a let down. So many important things going on in this world, and this is what we got?????..

   This was not an interview, it was an ad for the Hillary for President campaign.

   Tonight’s show was DULL, now it seems the president can just call up and get a free political commercial.

   This is pathetic, why don’t you just put them in the backseat of a 57′ chevy and let them steam up the windows

   I had no idea that Steve Kroft is part of the obama administration. Who wrote these questions, axelrod?

   An oyster on a half-shell could have done better than Steve Kroft. Journalistic FAIL. The mainstream media has failed the American people.

   This interview was a love-fest. These were not softballs – these were marshmallows.

   Did Steve’s arm get tired from all of the softballs he threw!!??

   The mutual licking was so loud it could be heard around the world. In a word, discusting!!!!! Soundeded like the interviews Putin gets in Russia.

   The upside of this interview for Steve Kroft is that it has positioned him as a strong contender for the highly competitive award of Swoon Journalist of the Year.

    Dude, if you’re ever in Louisville, visit that KFC Yum Center where Louisville plays, its an amazing arena and the food is fantastic. I like it even better than Rupp Arena in Lexington.

    Some of the best food I ever had in an arena was at the Pepsi Center and Coors Field in Denver! The Pepsi Center has a 5 star restaurant in it and the consessions are amzing! A buffet in the sky box at Coors fiels is hard to beat ANYWHERE! due to my past working life i have had the honor and pleasure to visit many arenas and stadiums across the country bot pro and college. It sure is not like the old days! But the prices follow! The Detroit Tigers hold the honor of having the most expensive beer in major leage baseball, almost 9 bucks a glass!!! And that is for the cheap normal pour! No wonder it is a grand for a family of four to go to a game!!!

    I should have also asked if you believe it’s right for Obama to still be lying about the middle east too.

A musket with a bayonet would be an assault weapon according to Obama’s and Democrat in congress defination. So, I should have said clearly you support people owning assault weapons.

    All the concession prices are ridiculous, but at The Great American Ball park in Cincinnati Ohio you can get those Big Red Smokie sandwiches and they my friend are very hard to beat. I went to a game in Philly once and they had this Brat with Onions, Peppers and some kind of sauce that I still crave. The Hoagies aren’t bad either

    Shes well enough for us to do some small shopping so BBL…

They only know one way to learn things and that is by reading and listening to only what they want to hear. I am sure they will figure out a way to defend Obama by twisting what and how Koppel said what he said. Just like the “cutting” interview with the king and prinsess Hillary on 60 min last night.

You got Mark2 posting network and comedy shows to prove that FOX is not a contender in the ratings because he cant post any credible proof to back his beliefs.     Another good interview on 60 Minutes with Hilary and Barack. It is increasing clear that the far right wing is dying a slow death. Palin has been fired at Fox, as was Beck. They keep Billo because he brings in 2-3 million people, most of whom are very old (the Lawrence Welk “folks”). But Fox makes lots of money off of them. The right wing is finally realizing that you can’t win elections with people like Gingrich, Perry, Palin, Insanitorum, Paul, DeMint, and the like–there just aren’t that many kooks in the elecorate anymore–and the electorate is CHANGING fast. The old Southern Confederacy mentality won’t play anynore. Jindal and Gingrich have said the right wing GOP has to change, but so far it has been lip service. We will see. If the GOP doesn’t change, they’re DONE, nothwithstanding voter suppression and gerrymandering.
