Illinois’ credit rating downgraded; state drops to worst in the nation
Save money. Fiddle while Chicago burns.
Mr usa
Illinois (and Detroit, and California) are what happen when Democrats get everything they want.
But oh, right, Republicans are mean and stuff. Good thing they aren’t in charge.
Faith3, open your eyes and look for yourself. A life is a life. If a***tions were illegal there would be more children? True or False
Call it what you want. I can’t understand how you or everyone can support a***tion, especially after 20 weeks point. If the mother gives birth at the age the baby can live.
And I find it ironic to support the changing of gun control laws to save lives and not support a***tion law changes to save lives.
How are laws red herrings? Red herring is an English-language idiom that commonly refers to a type of logical fallacy in which a clue is intentionally or unintentionally misleading or distracting from the actual issue.
Is there not a problem with calling it murder in one case but a legal medical procedure in another case?
Come on… Stop calling it irony… a Red herring and prove me wrong.
Fortunately when state workers in Illinois retire and find that that state has no money they can all go on welfare. I hear Illinois is very generous. If that fails they can move to Minneapolis. Minnesota Governor Dayton has adapted most of the failing ideas from Illinois so they should feel at home. Between Illinois and Minneapolis you will drive through Wisconsin. It is successful, pretty, and has a fully-funded retirement program for state workers, but it is run by an evil Republican so it isn’t for you. Good luck and keep voting Democrat as the union recommends.
Faith3, First you must not understand sarcasm. The statement if everything was legal there’d be not crime is true. But of course no one would be safe or want to life in a world with laws. However, the study showed that crime went down when a***tion was legalized. Now, of course some people are still going to get an a***tion if illegal, therefore an increased crime rate. Again the R v W is 40 years old. We know more about baby development now. It’s time to change the law. At least move the date to 20 weeks not 24.
Doug Z, Jeff doesn’t like anyone with a brain. I don’t agree with many things you say but I will listen. Most of the Obama lovers and liberal thinkers here won’t listen.
I haven’t listened to Rush in over fifteen years. I watch Fox news two or three hours a week. My opinions are my own. They fall more on the conservative side but I’m not a conservative groupy, unlike many of the liberals here. Within ten post you can tell what liberal personality they get all of their information from.
Government is doing fantastic
BOOMTOWN: Washington Passes Silicon Valley for Highest Median Income in U.S.
Have a nice weekend everyone……Date night have to go…..
Cathy,
“Now, of course some people are still going to get an a***tion if illegal, therefore an increased crime rate.”
Here is a great example of a red herring since you asked.
“Again the R v W is 40 years old. We know more about baby development now. It’s time to change the law. At least move the date to 20 weeks not 24.”
What does this have to do with anything being discussed?
I actually agree with USA for once…lbsles is a scary human being, what’s even scarier is that there are more people out there like him.
“My opinions are my own” which are formed from either false information or valid information. The problem with many people’s opinions are they are based on the former rather than the latter.
He makes the law so he can break the law. PS if he obeyed the law it would prove that his stimulus DIDNT work!!!
Long live the king!
Obama Continues to Violate His Own ‘Stimulus’ Law by Not Releasing Quarterly Reports
Have you heard much about President Obama’s $787,000,000,000 economic “stimulus” (now estimated to cost $831,000,000,000) lately? In its last report, published in 2011, the president’s own Council of Economic Advisors released an estimate showing that, for every $317,000 in “stimulus” spending that had by then gone out the door, only one job had been created or saved. Even in Washington, that’s not considered good bang for the buck.
Moreover, that was the fifth consecutive “stimulus” report that showed this number getting progressively worse.
Alas, that was the last report we’ve seen. Never mind that Section 1513 of the “stimulus” legislation, which Obama spearheaded and signed into law, requires the executive branch to submit a new report every three months.
Good late afternoon,
I’m suffering from the creeping crud ,so, I’m going to mention this again that I have posted in the past.
I have had enough OBGYN courses to know an infant feels pain in the 3rd trimester. NPR had a radio program that interviewed 4 abort*on doctors & their nurses re: 3rd trimester abort*ons they performed. One nurse said , the doctor detached an arm during “extraction” ,&, when the rest of the baby was “extracted,” the infant’s heart was still beating.
How is this not murder ?
@Doug Z

IIlinois and California are 2 states that give more to the government then they take back in Federal funding. I personally think the Federal Government should take some money away from the moocher states(ie states that get more federal funding then they give in Taxes) and give it to California and Illinois. It’s easy to laugh how bad California and Illinois are doing but they aren’t the states that are screwing this country like the moocher states.
It always amazes me that Republicans are the ones to bitch the most about Federal spending yet the most reddest of red states generally seem like the ones that benefit the most off of it. If they want to cut Federal spending may I suggest trying to cut it at home first.
by the way here is a funny picture of how the 3 cable news newtorks handle a story

ibsles–Obama inherited the worst recession in American history AND trillions of dollars in UNFUNDED debt from Bush–two wars, a drug program, and a tax cut program…..

Obama inherited the worst economy in American History….from HIMSELF…

Sorry Doug but I disagree with your statement that “money doesn’t run Washington” it sure does!
Hi Nancy, yes oil prices are insane and unaffordable for most. Also, to admit somethings are not in our control shatters dogmatic thinking.
**************************************************
But if you check, the countries who are producing their own supplies of oil have low oil prices…so blame the dems who wont allow drilling for our own oil…
Stan T and other right wing fringe–if you can read the economic charts, that should elucidate you somewhat. That might prevent you from making obviously absurb comments about “Obama starting the recession.”
This just in: it looks like Lian Ryan and his ilk are going to try to stop birth control for businesses. You would think that 5th Century absurd Catholic thinking would have evaoporated by now, but not with the right wing fringne…

Doug and Faith
Under W., or should I say, the 8 long, miserable years under the iron hand of Cheney-Bush…Lied us into battle, War for Oil, so Cheney’s Halliburton stocks went up, big time..Two wars off of the books, trillions and unpaid, losing 700 thousand jobs per month, Right b/fore W. left office, the country took a dive, heading into the abyss and along came Obama…He had to work on the W. “clean up” committee to try to reverse the damage done in 8 years. He’s done a pretty good job, but that’s never good enough for the crowd who caused the prob. in the 1st place. O. will have to double his efforts and do more mopping up this term. R or D Corporatism is alive and well and running the country, while the ‘little people’ don’t even get to ‘eat cake’ anymore. Can you say, Kaput?
******************************************
The left’s answer…always blame it on Bush…Your suggested war or oil, we didn’t get a drop of oil, so that’s BS…It wasn’t Bush’s wars, as the congress voted for both wars, including Democrats…only 6 congressman voted against the Iraq war…even though 200 of them claimed they voted agaisnt it….you complain that two wars were run off the books, but under Obama there hasn’t been a single budget, so under Obama we’ve run EVERYTHING off the books…If you look at Bush’s numbers from the 6 years before the Dems took over congress, we were only adding $200 billion a year to the national debt, INCLUDING both wars. It was when the Dems took over congress in Jan 2007 that we first started adding a trillion a year to the national debt. And it’s Obama’s policies that are keeping people out of work so they can’t EAT CAKE, as you say.
