  • LAME!

    this show is lame

  • BigBrotherFan

    This isn’t news. That CLASS-LESS monster blabbed before HBO yesterday.
    BUH BYE HBO

  • Data

    I like it. And the fact that it is so loved and hated at at the same time just proves that people are aware of this show and are talking about it thus guaranteeing it a very long life on HBO. And rightfully so. Hopefully Enlightened will be renewed as well.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Data

    Yeah, people are so aware of it I guess thats why it made it on the Sunday cable ratings list LOL It didn’t even get a 0.2..People where aware of IN TREATMENT and look how that turned out.

  • Michael

    No news for Enlightened? Season 2 is amazing.

  • Psac

    You’re lame. ;)

    Not as great as some have said, but a very enjoyable show. Like it a lot.

  • Peter

    @BigBrotherFan,

    It is a hit but most of its audience is watching it OnDemand, DVR or on HBO Go. When those numbers were factored in, the audience went up to 3. 8 million and that didn’t include live + 7 Day ratings. So, it could still go way up after live +7 are counted. HBO is subscriber based and not ad supported. HBO doesn’t care how 4 million people are watching it as long as they are watching it on HBO, DVR, OnDemand or HBO Go. To call it a failure based on the 9 pm ratings on a premium network is wrong.

  • Brian

    The show is cheap to make and HBO loves this show. I see this going 6 or 7 seasons.

  • Data

    @BigBrotherFan:

    Are you the Max of Girls now? Calm the hell down. It’s a show. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. It’s not that hard, really. But getting this upset about its renewal is a silly overreaction.

    Girls is quality television. And it’s ratings are once you consider how many people watching throughout the week. By the way: Most HBO comedies do about the same numbers that Girls does. And don’t start with the 18-49 demographic – we all know these numbers aren’t of importance to HBO.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Peter

    …Really? I guess that means ratings didn’t really factor in BORED TO DEATH, IN TREATMENT AND HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA when they canceled them. I’m sure that decision was made on DVR numbers alone.

  • Marty

    @BigBrotherFan

    The renewal speaks for itself. Y U SO MAD?

  • Peter

    @BigBrotherFan

    I believe the cumulative numbers for those shows weren’t as good as the cumulative numbers for Girls.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Data

    Thanks for some Friday laughs FUNNIEST THING I READ ALL DAY

    “Girls is quality television”

    That’s great. Anyway…I will get upset because the show is overrated, insane, offensive and it’s star is a very unclassy loud mouthed monster!

    HBO had so much quality television and it pains me to see them reduced to this level. This show is not ‘edgy’ or ‘honest’ just cause we are subjected to Dunham nude and having sex does not make it either ‘edgy or honest’ it makes it a sad show that is using shack factor to get ratings…and is FAILING. It will be canceled after season 3.

    Put CURB back on and can this trash!

  • BigBrotherFan

    I’m pretty sure BORED TO DEATH was doing around girls numbers.

  • rob60990

    HBO rewarding failure.

  • Data

    @BigBrotherFan:

    You are so uninformed – THAT is what is sad. How can HBO put Curb back on? You’re saying it like they don’t want to do another season. But it is Larry David who currently is busy otherwise and therefore can’t do another Curb right now.

    “Thanks for some Friday laughs FUNNIEST THING I READ ALL DAY”

    But this statement just shows me it is impossible to reason or talk with you. You just hate the show and no matter what I say or what anyone else says you just laugh it off. Well then. This chat we’ve been having is over for me.

  • Peter

    @Marty.

    I know. I don’t mind when some reviewers like Maureen Ryan complain because at least she’s a professional tv critic giving a good argument as to why she didn’t like a particular storyline.

    That’s different compared to most people whose comments sound misogynistic and jealous of Lena Dunham’s success.

  • Tommy

    What “Girls” has going for it is buzz. It might be low-rated but everyone *knows* about it and probably enough to talk about it, spreading word of mouth – which is the only thing HBO cares about. Even if it was getting less than a thousand viewers HBO could care less, as long as it was still buzzy. “Bored to Death,” “How to Make it in America,” and “Hung” were unfortunately not very buzzy. HTMIIA was never up for any awards and “Hung” fell pretty far from it’s debut season. And oddly enough “Bored to Death” – the only one of those three that people actually talked about is in pre-production of a film…

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Peter

    Serious DUDE get off the MISOGYNISTIC thing. Totally OLD! I say the exact same thing about that trash DANE COOK who is so untalented that NBC canned his reduced movie star status to sitcom star show before it even aired.

    She is the female version IMO. Horrible addition to Hollywood and Television.

  • Marty

    @Peter

    Ignore BigBrotherFan… Their screen name speaks for itself. Big Brother fans are known for being bored middle american housewives who have nothing better to do than spew hate for things they despise. Oh.. and waste their summers watching 14 random strangers in a house 24/7.
