    Can’t to see TBBT and AI head to head next week! Love to see TBBT hit a 6.0 vs AI

    @Can’t to see TBBT and AI head to head next week! Love to see TBBT hit a 6.0 vs AI

    Me too. But i am not so sure that TBBT can hit 6+ vs AI. Idol is still big.

    I am not surprised POI does so well in repeats. If you miss an original airing you are sunk. It isn’t available On Demand in many cable providers, you can’t buy it on iTunes or Amazon next day, it is not available on Hulu or HuluPlus. If you go to the CBS website not a single full episode is available right now. So if you want to see an ep you missed, it is either catch a re-run or illegally download.

    I don’t know who this Max is that so many people keep going on about but I get the distinct impression that those people talking about him have forgotten about the rules regarding trolls and feeding.

    all the networks had repeats–you’d think Idol would have higher numbers

    Used to be Idol would be adjusted up by more than one tenth. The bloom is definitely off American Idol. One can only hope The Voice withers quicker than Idol.

    @Oliver

    I’d say Glee gets a full-season order, but it’s hard to imagine next season not being its last. It’s been declining sharply for the past two years and, if the trend continues, it will be hovering around a 1.5-1.8 by this time next year.

    Idol isn’t bleeding as much this season. It’s kind of like two years ago when they got Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. I guess the judges make the show when it comes to Idol. The X Factor, on the other hand… ;)

    @Ultima

    Fun fact for the Idol haters…

    While the premiere was down sharply last week, this week Idol is only down ~10% from the second week last year, which is in line with its typical year-to-year declines.

    It is a fun fact, because it’s both true and disingenuous!

    On Wednesday, Idol is down by ~20%. On Thursday, Idol is roughly flat.

    Funnily enough, last year Idol faced TBBT originals, while this year it has faced repeats. I doubt Idol’s Thursday ratings will stay stable next week once TBBT originals return.

    It’s looking like Idol will be down another ~20% again this year.

    @Petar Ivanov

    I agree that TBBT will not hit a 6.0 next week. Not only Idol, but also being off for two weeks hurts its momentum. I think TBBT will still be a very potent mid 5’s next week, but not the 6’s we saw for its last two episodes.

    Sad to see Last Resort disappear. At least ABC has tried quality programming that was different from most other dramas on television (not a cop or legal procedural). Neither Missing nor Last Resort appealed to ABC’s typical female demo.

    It’ll be interesting to see how “American Idol” will perform next week going up against an all-new “The Big Bang Theory”. I do think “Theory” will win “Idol”, but not “crush it” or “destroy it” like some here have been saying. Maybe mid-to-high 5 for “Theory” and low-to-mid 5 for “Idol”.

    @ Michael “I surely thought after the winter hiatus, it was going to follow the same pattern as “Secret Circle” and “Ringer.” If you’d bothered to check, you’d have discovered that TSC returned from a two month hiatus with consecutive 0.8 ratings. The same as the last episode before it went on hiatus. Ringer went on hiatus with a 0.6 and returned with the same rating. Both shows eventually nosedived, but its too early to draw any comparisons about B&B. For what it’s worth, B&B last saw a 0.7 on Episode 5 and hit the skids afterwards. Moreover, Thursday’s big jump to 0.7 still left B&B in its customary position at the bottom of the primetime food chain.

    It’s getting burdensome dealing with needy B&B fans who can’t figure out that the PCA’s are a joke. It’s also hardly impressive that a show that won its category by over 10 MM votes only rose a whopping 0.1 demo point. If that’s all, then it’s pretty evident the PCAs aren’t worth the lucite they’re made of. They should cancel the award. Hopefully, the obsessed fans who spent their waking hours haunting the PCA voting site will then get a life.

    “all the networks had repeats–you’d think Idol would have higher numbers”

    I don’t think the phrase “all the networks had repeats” means what you think it means.

  • MattR

    One apparently equals all. LOL

    Yehey Criminal Minds destroying Grey’s Anatomy again!!! =)

  • Max

    I like American Horror Story, Catfish, and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers too!

    Good for B&B’s fans looking for a ray of hope. The next few weeks will be crucial. Personally, I gave up on the show before it went on hiatus and only gave it a second chance because of Bridget Regan. Even her screen presence, which is an improvement over the lackluster Kreuk, won’t have me tuning back in. The show’s just not for me. It never succeeded in making me care for the characters, and the way it creates drama is simply too forced for my tastes.

  • Ekras

    YES! Glee is almost to cancellation territory! If you know anyone who watches, try to keep them busy on Thursdays…. with just a little effort we can destroy this travesty!

    @Bill

    Inconceivable!
