1600 Penn looks really weak behind The Office. If Community holds stronger numbers, I would definately think that would cause NBC to cancel 1600 Penn. Since Community has to face both American Idol and Big Bang Theory.

Darn it, CBS, air a new The Big Bang Theory episode already. I want to see how a new episode does against American Idol.

  • Tom

“After having the show as a toss up most of the season, I ignored that late dive too much in retrospect and thought the show would survive by a small margin at the end because of how relatively well it had done prior to the end of March.”

@ Bill I felt the same way as apparently did a lot of other Secret Circle fans. What still baffles me is how the program’s ratings literally collapsed, going from a 0.7 rating for Episode 17 to 0.5 ratings for Episodes 19 – 21. I can’t remember a show ever falling that fast in the ratings after airing as many episodes.

Poor Last Resort, beat by Vampire Diaries, 30 Rock, and Big Bang repeat. Oh well atleast its done. And Glee’s retention out of Idol is horrible. It’s hard to believe two seasons ago this show was pulling 4.5s. The real fun will be seen when new Big Bang faces Idol, who will win? Probably Big Bang but with Idol back will Big Bang break 6.0, well see.

I watch Grey’s every week but those numbers are not great with little in the way of competition and it’s starting to feel really tired. It’s great that it’s lasted this long but as a fan who has watched from the start I would have preferred a strong ending rather than a slow descent to cancellation. Sigh.

1600 Penn numbers are horrible considering it’s not competing with other comedies. Can you imagine how bad would its number be if it was scheduled on Tuesday when FOX and ABC also air comedies? They should burn it already.

B & B is boring and bad ! 0,7 Not a good result I’m sure the CW Network will delete it. Mediocre show!

  • CBSviewer

We are all agree: Next Season will be the last for Grey’s Anatomy ?

  • badboy

Comparing TSC with BATB is comparing apples with oranges. The network expected alot more from TSC. It was supposed to be this years Arrow. They pumped alot of money and promotion into it. That just wasn’t the case with BATB. It’s also much cheaper to produce in Toronto. According to Pedowitz there also seem to be creative reasons for it’s cancellation not just the numbers. So no, BATB doesn’t need to reach TSC numbers to survive. If it stays around 0.6 it will be renewed imo.

    No?

Unless the producers have said they plan on wrapping it up (like with HIMYM), there’s no reason to think that next season will be the last. It’s still one of the highest rated dramas on TV.

    Beasties,hahhahaahhahhahahah,It is so pathetic!

  • Amanda

@badboy exactly, that’s what TSC fans don’t seem to get, that BATB and TSC aren’t in the same playing field. CW hasn’t nearly spent the same amount of money into BATB as they did with TSC last season.

And the people who keep saying that TVD is such a great lead in, clearly don’t know the history with TVD and other new tv series– because if they did, they would know TVD is not a great lead in for new shows.

The Nikita was paired up with TVD in it’s first season and it ended up becoming a toss-up by the end of it, as did with TSC and it got canceled.

A big deal of TVD fans don’t seem to care about any other series on the CW outside from their own and once TVD ends so does the power on their television. I wish CW would stop putting new shows after it and expecting wonderful results.

    It’s unrealistic at this point.

Glee will get a season 5 cuz then they will hit 100 at the end of that season what fox is telling glee is to decide to either take the cast to New York or do this crap by spliting the show my vote is all the old cast in New York! That way we can see them all interact with each other and more stories can come from this!

  • Pavelsauce

I was way pessimistic with my prediction for Glee. I voted 2.1-2.2. I’m watching the episode right now, and I’m really liking it. :)

  • Tom

@ Amanda I understand your point about B&B having a lower production budget than TSC. IMHO, cost was the tiebreaker that kept HOD on the air while TSC was cancelled. However, I don’t agree that TVD fans bear any responsibility for the low ratings of shows in the the CW’s Thursday 9PM (Eastern) time slot Not to belabor the point, but neither Nikita nor B&B were up to the competition. The insurmountable problem with B&B revolves around bad acting by KK. There have been a number of comments here about this and the recent improvement in the show after the arrival of Bridget Reagan. Kreuk is, at best, an average supporting actress and Lisadrello simply doesn’t have any talent. The writing itself is also poor. Viewers have to suspend their disbelief far too often because of the contrived manner in which a lot of story lines unfold. Sorry to keep dumping on B&B, but the CW needs to come up with something much better to compete at 9 PM.

@Jen, I totally agree with you. I hate to see shows just fizzle out, especially when there is no more story to tell. Grey’s Anatomy should definately come back for one more season. But its viewership is shrinking and while it is still respectable in demo for the network when compared to the other shows, I do feel it is time wrap things up. Next year I expect the demo to be in the mid 2′s. Let it go out with decent numbers. ABC should have other dramas that should be able to keep the network competitive when Grey’s Anatomy finish its run.

  • Bizarro

Go B&TB, I’m happy that you guys didn’t get adjusted down!

  • andy

omg Kristin act is a disaster, just boring, painful to watch. I tried to watch the “beauty and the beast” but I could not, Kristin is simply exhausting.

  • katy

Beauty and the Beast is a show boring and stupid. Kristin K. is bad actress. Should go to a drama school because it looks like a piece of wood!

  • sony

I could not continue to watch “Beauty and the Beast” because kristen.k.is simply a bad actress, no emotion. something about her is unlikeable
