Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Beauty had one .5 the rest of the episodes were around the .6 and .7 range. Its not like CW has anything better going for it. All the new shows except Arrow are bombing more so than Beauty. Its the number 4 show on CW, as long as it maintains a .6 or .7, I think they will give it a pity renew.

  • juliedawn

Please make up your mind, in one post you say that BATB has a 50% chance of being renewed, then a few posts down on the same page you say “Beauty can’t survive”

  • Mikey O

@lanie grace Yes saw last resort ABC did a good ending to the story what a surprise

  • Percysowner

BATB showed a nice comeback. If it can keep these numbers it should get a renewal. To those who say X network should not have canceled [Insert show here], believe me, the network executives wish they could have a crystal ball that would show them which shows the public will like, and which they won’t. They don’t dump shows on a whim, they dump them because they believe that a different show will bring better ratings. Their guesses may be wrong, but they are going by what they think. Last year many people were predicting that OUAT would be one of the first shows canceled and that Revenge wouldn’t make it. After all, how many people want to watch modern day fairy tales or a girl taking revenge on the pretty people in the Hamptons? However BOTH shows became quite popular. I have heard that one of the reasons Supernatural got a a season four, was because the writers strike during season three kept new pilots from being developed. Now, it is the CW’s third highest show. The CW would have lost out on a show that is making Warner Brothers a great deal of money if they had followed the gut of Dawn Ostroff. These things aren’t predictable. The execs are doing the best they can.

  • Petar Ivanov

@Always a hoot to read the so-called ratings at 18-49 year olds and to think network execs get their panties wet over such small/poor audiences(and I mean $$$ poor). so if I were selling something and wanted people to really buy, I’d be more concerned about $$$ from a family, more so then what age group they’re in. In one 30 minute show, I counted 5 luxery car commercials. I would bet anyone that no 18-25 year old couldn’t even get approved for a loan to buy 1(unless their family has money and bought it, they won a lottery, or they inherited it) and the few that could, wouldn’t be watching tv. And when I was 18-25, on most nights I attended a frat party, studied or went out to a bar/dancing. Marketing 101….

Why people even care how networks makes money. I read one opinion from USA network executive who explain how networks target for 18-49 but also for 18-34 or 24-54 also sex/gender, education and others. But why we must care? We don’t get this numbers anyway. Not even C3 numbers. All fans must watch for their show in prime demo that is available. If is ok there will be renew. Let’s stay professionals to make target groups for sex, age, education, rich, midle class, poor, and so on. And yes viewers not matter for advesires. Only target groups to which they want to sold whatever.

  • Dude

What is with this Revenge vs Scandal crap? They’re both good shows and they’ll both be renewed.

  • Dude

Got to admit, I didn’t think Glee would pull off such an increase but it did. Good for them!

  • Petar Ivanov

By the way the same USA excutive was asked why USA move burn notice and suits to 10 pm not 9 pm and he said that they don’t want to compete with Person of interest and Grey and that is why they put their shows at 10 this season om thursdays. I guess that means once and for all competition does MATTER. After usa executive say so. That also show a lot of respect to PoI and Grey. And not so much respect for Scandal and Elementary. But with these scandal numbers who knows how will be in the end of the season.

  • Honey Badger

Late Night television was changed forever last night, with the greatest Late Night show of all time
‘Jimmy Kimmel Live': Matt Damon steals the show… Literally

You can read about it here:

I suggest everyone watch it again and again, it is fantastic.

  • brent

any half hours anyone? please and thanks

  • Lucinders

@John A, Scandal was a repeat because there are only 22 episodes of Scandal versus 24 episodes of Greys. So there will be two occasions when there is a new Greys and a repeat of Scandal. Since sweeps start January 31, there should be four straight new episodes of Greys and Scandal until February 21.

  • Californiadgd

Scandal does very great for ABC standarts, GLEE is ok for FOX, but next week will be down.TBBT will crush IDOL very hard.

  • JR35

Wouldn’t a 5.1 be 9 to 10% drop for Idol? It has a good shot at being adjusted up, so the point may be moot. :)

  • David

Wow, next Thursday will be interesting!!! The finale of 30 Rock, the return of TBBT and PoI and of course Scandal. I wonder how all these shows at each others throats are going to do. Isn’t this the first time all 5 networks are airing originals together since December?

  • SJ

I wonder why ABC chose to run a Scandal repeat out of an original Grey’s. It either means that:
    a) an original Scandal will in turn have to air out of a repeat of Grey’s,
    b) Grey’s won’t have a 2-hour season finale (which strikes me as odd) or
    c) that ABC will, at some point during the season, test Scandal at 9pm.

I’d guess it’s c) since they already did that with Private Practice a few years ago. I expect the result to be the same – sub-2.0 numbers.

  • Perdix

Glee is suffering from Grey’s Anatomy because they are both female skewing.

Probably, Big Bang will lead the night but a tight race in network average over Fox.

Idol should boost the comedy block. New Girl will rise more than Glee.

NBC is locking their way to third place.

  • Joseph

With only one first-run scripted show (“Nikita” on The CW) on an Ebnglish-lanugage broadcast network tonight (January 25th), prime-time ratings could be very low.

Spanish-language Univision could win the night in the 18-49 demo, dominate the 18-34 demo, and perhaps finish a strong second overall (The U.S. Hispanic population skews young, so that’s why Univision could win tonight in the 18-34 and 18-49 demos but not win with overall viewers).

But in many cities, local telecasts of NBA and NHL games will likely be the most-watched program of the night.

But very cold weather in much of the country, along with what industry insiders consider to be a very weak lineup of movies at the box office, may keep some people in the Northern U.S. home. But still, they (as noted above) may end up watching sports.

JulieDawn, that post I replied to someone saying Beauty would survivr with the same ratings he called a flop in another show.It has a slight shot a renwal if it gets 0 7& better the rest of the season(which is unlkiley) or if Cult bombs(which I think it will) or CD falls more, gets cancelled(which could happen) or 90210 dosent get a short final season(which im 90_95% sure it will) or HoD gets cancelled(which could happen, but its stable, cheapdoes well ionline ect so I see it being renewed and also I dont think itll drop cause it didnt last year) or Nikita gets cancelled which could happen if the ratings drop in spring but as its being pushed for syndication thats only a slight chance.I said wed have to wait and see its ratings in April after DST when most shows fall and if it keeps steady ,it could get renewed. On the other hand,CW&other networks ) usually renew freshman show and its Arrow without a doubt. Also, on the off chance Cult is a hit, then that may be one less slot for BatB.What could also possibly get renewed is if its cheap to make,if it does well internationally, if it does well online,Netflix, itunes, vod ect,.So, its hard to say_Nikita based on US ratings alone shouldve been cancelled but CW president likes it and it reportedley does well in Asia so it was renewed.I like BatB a lot and hope it gets renewed, but im not saying its a guarenteed renwal yet_look what happened to SC,fans were sure it would be renewed this time last year but it ended up being cancelled.Ill wait for finals also to be happy if it dosent adjust down.0.6_0.7 is only middling ratings even on CW and SC was cancelled with similar ratinga and retention out of VD and Nikita moved to Fri after its one 0 7 for the season one finale.I think it could go either way, but im not getting my hopes up just to have them dashef as ive in the past when ive hoped certain shows ti be renewed and they werent. We have yet to see

  • Michael

IDOL – down 6% against CBS REPEATS! LMAO! I never thought I would say this, but the brain trust at FOX actually found a way to make the show worse this year (Mariah, Minaj and the AWFUL Urban) than last year (Yawn inducing J. Lo and fossilized Steven Tyler).

  • Brandy

@Frodo, networks usually renew ONE freshman and CWs will be Arrow. But yes, the other new shows arent doing overley well and its possible BatB gets renewed but I wouldnt say its a sure thing yet_Cult could suprise and be hit or Beauty could tank in April like SC,Hellcats ect.
